I hadn't heard much about this movie so in all honestly, I had no major expectations. My husband and I watch a LOT of movies (4-5 a week). The characters were strong and believable - you felt a connection to the different personalities and how each dealt with the situation. The premise that comes out slowly throughout the movie was not "formula" or fully expected. Its definitely written to setup future movies...but in this case, I'm looking forward to the next movie.

I wasn't 100% sure about this movie. I remembered seeing a preview for it on a different DVD and I thought it looked like it could be good. It's just one of those times you have to decide whether or not you want to take a chance on it. We got a good price for the Blu-ray, so we took the chance. I would say it was worth it! I wouldn't go as far as saying it's an epic movie that I absolutely love. I just thought it was entertaining and worth a good sale price.

I loved this movie. The story, the effects, the acting and the characters where all excellent. As far as this actual product. I really like the Steelbook. However, the picture is a bit deceptive. It says at the bottom "Unrated Directors Cut". There is not DC, and the actual steelbook does not say this on it. Still very much worth the purchase. 9.5/10

I had no desire to see this movie originally, but after taking a chance during a free movie weekend on HBO or Stars, I can say I was pleasantly surprised. Story was well executed and fairly original. The cast played their roles exceptionally well. The overall flow of the movie was executed well enough with a good mix of mystery, intrigue, and drama. The ending was perfect and left me anxiously waiting to see the next one.

The movie drops the viewer into the middle of an unreal scenario, as strange to the viewer as it is to the protagonist. The audience slowly begins to learn the rules of the new world alongside the protagonist, who has no memory of any life before his arrival in this world. While it could be idylic, something is amiss and idylic is not good enough for the young man with no memory, so he tests the limits of the rules and his abilities.

I was surprised by the action and story of this movie. I was expecting it to be a not so good Hunger Games or Divergent series. It was not like that. It does follow the idea of people saving the human race through trials and fights. The difference is this time they have to survive a maze instead of a major battle to the death or factions. It has good action, story is not bad, soundtrack is decent.

Yes, my teenage sons wanted to see this when it came out at the movie theater more than me (without any of us having read the young adult book series), but I was still interested from the sci-fi mystery and action angle. The fact that the cast is 90% youth is justifiable based on the plot (the same as Lord of the Flies with the marooning of boys), though less so in the later movies in the trilogy (come on, adults can't all be bad guys except for the token good guy supporting character; where's Mad Max in this post-apocalyptic world?!). The plot can plod along at times in the beginning and middle with it seemingly over-compensated for at the end which it exponentially accelerates to. But all that said, I found it entertaining in the end with enough variation within the trilogy (eg oasis, desert, then city settings, each with its corresponding minor literary conflicts) to be interesting, at least more interesting than the Divergent or Hunger Games series to me (which I never managed to wade through).

well what can i say about maze runner it is not a bad movie it is base off of a book by the same name it is pretty good with watching the action in it is pretty good and it sets up for the next movie witch i am looking forward in seeing so check it out like i said worth watching on a raining afternoon or a weekend when there is nothing els on tv so check it out bc it is a fun movie to watch from the start to finish

So I got this movie against the advice of my friends but I did like it. It left the story open for more which I like but the fact that it was all young people bothered me a bit. How did they learn everything they needed to without some kind of input? Oh well, I'll make sure to see the ones that follow to see where the story goes. I didn't read the books which I think helps me like the movie better though.

First, I haven't read the books but from watching the movies I can tell that this is a story that would be much better told in a book form. It seemed that the movie was missing some character back stories and plot lines that I hope the book deals with better. The movie was still quite fun to watch and an enjoyable time for the family, especially the kids that had read the book and were anticipating parts.

Awesome Action Adventure Sci-Fi Movie! I did not see this movie[or the other one] when they first came out.When I finally watched them I was surprised at how good they both were,Most of the movie you are trying to figure out how and why they are trapped in this Big Maze.It picks up toward the end,good action and effects.Looks and Sounds great on my Home Theater System..4k Baby!Recommended.

Maze Runner is a well crafted film A young person is dropped off from a free falling elevator as a month's supply of food and survival gear is sent as well. Each individual is assigned a task farming; building, tending the live stock or becoming the hero of the Maze. The Maze holds secrets of how and why this group of young people have been placed on this rural Island.

This series of movies started out good with this one, but later trailed off. The maze was a lot of the fun part of the movie and then in the next movies they stopped doing much related to the maxes. I thought scorch trials was the worst of them, but still decent, I guess.

I haven't read the book so I don't have anything to base my review off of other that wow, totally intense. I'm a little torn on one thing though...I feel like they could have spent more time delving into the details but on the other hand am grateful they didn't spend too much time on the dialog because the action was so cool. I'm looking forward to the next movie in the series.

Perhaps a bit intense for full family viewing in parts, but overall safe. The ending will probably confuse many. Looking forward to the sequel to make everything clear or, at least, clearer. I purchased this to check out my 4K theater projector and was quite pleased with the video quality. If you have a 4K system. this will show it off to some degree.

We're had success from book series aimed at young people before, such as Hunger Games, Divergent, and of course Harry Potter. But we've also had failures, from films such as Mortal Instruments. I wouldn't rank Maze Runner up with the successes I mentioned, but it is a decent initial entry for the series. It was better than I expected. I hope they continue the franchise.

The only reason I bought this blu-ray was for the 3D short hiddenin the extras. The short is called RUIN and it is a ball of fun! An absolute must have for any 3D fan. Maze Runner was surprisingly good as well though not as fleshed out as I would have liked based on the book. Scorch Trials came out in 3D in the movies but not on Blu-ray unfortunately.

This movie was an okay movie in my opinion, but my husband loves it, which is why I settle on four stars. The movie throws you right into the confusion of the main character and you're right beside him as he tries to figure out what's going on. There's some action, overall it's entertaining to watch for a night.

Great movie, watched it with people who had thought it wouldn't be that good and they were pleasantly surprised. I love the setup. The version also comes with a $10 visa debit (online only) to buy an eBook, (though I used mine on Amazon), a comic, and a bonus Newt character in the app.
