I had forgotten to preorder this steelbook and was relieved when my local BB had several copies on hand the day after its release. After reading several reviews expressing problems with the audio ("white noise" and "too much gain") I purchased a copy with trepidation and checked its playback upon arriving home. Using a Sony UPB-X700 player and through a Sony HT-A5000 smart soundbar, sub and rear speakers system, in conjunction with Sony's OLED "Acoustic Surface" (which are actuators affixed to the back of the panel), the Dolby DTS HD 7.1 audio track was crisp, clear and full - no noise whatsoever. Dialog was easily distinguishable at all times. On the Sony 77 XR A80L OLED, the picture quality is breathtaking. The transfer is exquisite especially given the fact that this was shot 30 years ago stop-motion on Eastman 5248 film stock. The blacks hold up to anything being done today with state of the art digital equipment. I'm am sorry to have read that others may have received bad copies but that should not deter anyone that is thinking of purchasing a copy.

This only blemish here is they chose not to go with an upgraded ATMOS mix. However, the DTS MA 7.1 mix is still an wonderful experience. Visually, the treat never ends with this stop-action marvel. With the deep darks/blacks and bright Christmas colors, you will be rewarded, especially if you have a higher end TV. My family and I watch this at least once a year, oftentimes more. Spectacular 4K!

Amazing fantastically exciting and excellent movie for all ages in stunning steel book for a collector, this Disney 100 steel book is. In unlimate 4 k ultra HD made me see things and hear like I never did before!! Combined with the sing along bluray

The quality of this release is excellent. My family noticed little details we hadn’t realized we’d missed. This movie never gets old. Definitely a great buy.

Purchased this item for in-store pickup, received an email that it was ready for pickup, went to store for pickup, item missing. 40+ minutes later, item eventually found. Item visibly damaged, no apology for the condition, no replacements available. Unwrapped item at home, case is broken in two at the spine. Best Buy has been extremely unhelpful in resolving this problem. I want a refund immediately.

I appear to be one of the luck and have not experienced the 7.1 Dolby Audio issue. I will state for the group that my receiver is not 7.1 equipped, so the track is being presented as Dolby 5.1, but the audio option from the menu being selected is the 7.1 designation, the source is just adjusted down to 5 channels. Not sure if this is why I'm not having an issue, but definitely not a wall of white noise that others have expressed. I am also one of those people who like the simple art, embossing is a nice touch and well done... keep in mind it's collections like this that people pass on which become valuable in the end, due to the lack of investment by the fan base. A full set of these "100" editions in steel may be rare to find ten years from now. As for the video, really good transfer, you won't be disappointed.

Im 100% biased and I 100% don't care. The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of the most original animated films, and made even more so through its use of stop-motion animation. Directed by Henry Selick, and from the mind of Tim Burton comes a movie I adore so deeply, its simply meant to be. Despite being disappointed at the fact that there's no Dolby Atmos mix (and it rightly deserves one), the 7.1 audio is no slouch, and is loud when it needs to be and dynamic. The 4K presentation is the crispiest I've ever seen this movie. Definitely recommend this one. I didn't experience any issues with the audio with the disc I bought either, like with some of the other reviews mentioned, so your mileage may vary. I even bought the non-steelbook version just in case, and was glad I didn't need to open the non-steelbook release and could easily return that one.

Excellent movie and still one of my favorite films to this day so I was happy it received the collector's edition treatment. I haven't had audio issues on the 4k disk like some other users. Only issue I had was that the case arrived with a dent in the corner. Ended up getting it exchanged in store pretty quickly once I had a day off, but it gets kind of annoying when they ship a damaged product or don't ship it with proper care.

My wife is an avid collector of Tim Burton films and memorabilia. She says with utmost certainty that this producing lives up to its potential displayed on a 4k tv. We have the LG C3 and it doesn't disappoint either. I have a Sony Bravia 4k tv also to compare with. Sony brand 4k tvs are most notable for their cinematic play vs other brands, and this movie showed a major resilience to scrutiny in both graphic design and audio. I'm glad they took there time to release it properly.

The 4K transfer looked good and the sound was fine to me. I definitely wish that the outside of the Steelbook looked better, but I love the inside.

My copy was fine, but would be careful if purchasing now. I would rather you recommend buying it later on, once the first initial copies go out. Maybe then Disney would fix the second presses, but that is a BIG maybe considering Disney.

Nightmare before Christmas is such a classic! Definitely a must have for any movie collection. Steelbooks are wonderful but the production of this line is a hit or miss if you are looking for one with no dents or scratches.

Is this a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie? But nonetheless this film is fantastic, I wish the Steelbook art was better, rather it be a sliver background

Great movie, with a good quality steelbook! The overall design is a bit minimalistic, but it fits well with the rest of the Disney 100 series.

Amazing movie, and amazing product for the die hard collectors out there!

Wow the quality and detail in the 4k disc is night and day from the digital stream on D+ I read some of the reviews and the audio sounded fine on my system (QN900b+Q990c soundbar) No delays or white noise. If you love this movie I totally recommend owning the 4k physical copy

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic. This 4K release is stellar. The quality is simply astounding and I recommend this purchase to anyone considering buying this film. The steelbook version is a bit sparse on being eye catching but that's a minor quibble.
