My wife loved this movie based on a real event. good one

Don't know much about the PT-218 but this movie should be titled the SS Lawton B Evans. It is based in large part on the actions of her crew during the Battle of Anzio from Jan 22-30 1944. Crews from ships and boats did occasionally perform raids ashore on enemy targets. The most famous of which is arguably the crew off the USS Barb (SS-220) which was responsible for the destruction of a Japanese train ashore. The Merchant Marines suffered the highest casualty rate during WW II of all the US Armed Services.

Interesting story about the Armed Guard gunners on a Liberty ship but the title is misleading, as there is only a very brief appearance of any PT-boat in the very beginning of the movie. Said to be based on true events but have not verified. Biggest downside is the EXTREMELY poor acting, especially of Eric Roberts and the actors who play other senior officers. All wear helmets while inside bunkers or buildings (never told where) and the dialog is stilted and over-emphasized. There were no "rebels" and there was no PT-218 identified. As for special effects, pretty cheap. Lots of gunfire, few hits, and none of them realistic.

Not sure what I was expecting, but was very disappointed in the overall experience. Very little about Pt 218, seemed to be very poorly done.

Acting is so bad and low budget. The CGI is terrible. I didn't even finish watching half of the movie on its overall.

This movie claimed to be based upon actual events. It has so many technical and historical errors it is at best a very poor piece of fiction. The dialogue is incorrect, the operations of a merchant ship are totally misrepresented, and the only reference to a PT vessel is at best passing. I am destroying this disk rather than perpetuate the errors and misrepresentation.

My wife and I were able to see this movie in our local movie theater and were happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and really enjoyed watching it and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.

Excllent movie, had no idea that this took place, stories like this should be brought to light!
