Possibly one of the most beautifully poetic films; this movie doesn't require any dialogue to convey powerful emotions and an intriguing story. The over-arching simplicity of everything in this film, from the character designs to the background paintings, beautifully captures the essence of life in all of it's states.

I only saw this DVD on trailer, sent it to my Grand Daughter at a College. She watched With her school friends, they were impressed of the depth of story. I

I bought this movie and watched it with my kids. It was a great movie, with very great animation, however it seemed a bit more for the adults. It doesn't have any words in it, which is okay, but makes it harder for kids to stay focused and pay attention. Beautiful storyline though and very thoughtful.

A man is stranded on an island and every time he tries to leave it, a supernatural force prevents his departure. He comes across a giant red turtle and forms a bond for the rest of his life....

Beautiful artwork and a lovely story that brings to mind some of the Celtic myths of the silky, yet it is a red turtle. The directors commentary illuminates some of the production decisions and gives scope to this artistic endeavor. Really enjoyed this film.

One of the calmest cinema experiences ever, Red Turtle carries existentialism into the realms of nature throughout this film. I fell asleep watching the first two times viewing and was truly left with a hope for life on earth by the time I saw the finish.

Studio Ghibli are back! A beautifully rendered no dialogue animated feast. The story focuses on a young man who is shipwrecked on an island and his struggle for survival with only a red turtle for company. A thoroughly engaging and luscious tale.

I bought this one for my friend who LOVES turtles. She's also a Studio Ghibli fan and I mean, what would be a better gift? We watched it that night and it was so pretty. A little slow paced with some action in there. Good for any audience!

The film has a feel of many of the European independent art films I have seen. There are few words but much heart. Studio Gibli has production credits but the writer was from Europe. I loved it and it is a different style.

Best Buy’s selection of films and DVDs contains even the most difficult to locate. I am always amazed and satisfied and will continue to shop for my film needs and wants with you.

Most people's worries about there being no dialogue almost affected me to the point I almost skipped this purchase. Sure glad I didn't. The story is well told without much talking and the bluray looks and sounds spectacular. Do yourself a favor and pick this up.

so this movie has no dialog. if anything there are only grunts and shouts of them saying HEY! and that is it. everything else is pure visual story telling and its amazing. Fantastic story and art style is pure ghibli.

Good story and visually stunning animation. A movie with little dialog which fits well with the story. You feel the emotion of the characters thru their expression and actions. A worth watching film.

An incredible collaboration between a French and Japanese studio. The movie is a masterpiece and is remnant of classic cinema. Absolutely beautiful art, music, and unforgettable story. A must buy.

No really it is a classic, if you like Art, hand drawn animation and stories told with out saying buy one word with deep meaning this is a very moving movie.

This is a beautifully animated story about a shipwrecked man and his encounter with a red turtle. Told with no dialogue, it's the emotions of the characters that drive the story.

I can't say enough great things about this movie. Luckily I was able to find it locally. If you love Japanese animation I highly encourage you to check it out asap!

One of the best animated movies I've ever seen! It's amazing that it doesn't have any dialog, and really doesn't need it. It's a moving and magical movie!

Never seen an animated movie like this. Filled with emotional visuals. Lack of dialog which makes it all the more better. It is universal without any explanation.
