Do you like Keanu Reeves? Do you like Gene Hackman as a coach? Do you like sports comedies? Do you like cheerleaders who are strippers? If you answered yes to any one of these questions, you will enjoy this movie. The Blu-ray looks fantastic. I don't know how they shot this movie, but I'm guessing they wanted it to look as clear as a sporting event on the best screen available because the image is crystal clear and the color is vibrant. It's almost IMAX quality. When Keanu Reeves trots on to the practice field, with his majestic hair waving and the background blurring behind him as the bass note hits, you know you're going to have fun.

This football comedy has an impressive cast of Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman and Jack Warden (his last movie). It is mildly funny, but the funniest and best football comedy movie is the original THE LONGEST YARD starring Burt Reynolds (unfortunately, it has not been released on bluray).

This is a very underrated comedy! Starring Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman The Replacements is a laugh out loud funny comedy about a fictional major league football team "the Sentinels" who go on strike and the team's owner hires Jimmy McGinty (Gene Hackman) to put together a team of replacement players including Keanu Reeves as Shane Falco. I personally have no interest in sports and still loved this movie its a great romantic comedy in disguise with a fantastic cast!!!

This is an excellent film with fine performances all around. The Blu Ray edition is more than sufficient. I say this having purchased a few 4K versions of older films only to find that the results do NOT justify the added expense of 4K. I only purchase films I either know I will watch multiple times or at the least hope to. Having already seen this film a few times I knew it was the latter of those two possibilities. Trust me. I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'.

I've had this on DVD for the longest time and finally decided to upgrade to Blu-ray and I'm so glad I did. This movie is a lot of fun and a nice feel-good story with the likes of Keaneu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Jon Favreau, and so many more sharing the screen. Watch as Neo leads a rag-tag team of replacement players as they attempt to help the Washington Sentinels make it to the playoffs with only four games to do it in.

The Replacements is a 2000 American sports comedy film directed by Howard Deutch. It stars Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Brooke Langton, Jon Favreau and Jack Warden in what would be his last film appearance. The movie was loosely based on the 1987 NFL strike, specifically the Washington Redskins, who won all three replacement games without any of their regular players, going on to win Super Bowl XXII at the end of the season. Though the film is a story of the replacement players, the Falco-Martel QB controversy is quite similar to the one experienced by the post-strike Redskins between Doug Williams and Jay Schroeder. Hackman would later serve as the narrator for episode of the NFL Network's America's Game: The Super Bowl Champions devoted to that team.

Hands-down one of the best football movies, if no the best, ever made! Keanu is brilliant as a QB and a leader! This film definitely shows his range, as well as the cast that makes it feel like Major League, except it's football! Definitely a nod to Necessary Roughness! Love this film! Filled with genuine heart and humor!
