Bought as a gift for Christmas for a family member.

I picked up the Blu-ray during one of those rare occasions where Best Buy actually included a new Criterion release in a weekly circular. I haven't seen another since, but they did have since had a great Criterion sale, so there is hope. The blu-ray itself looks and sounds like a Criterion should, though at first glance, I found the contrast of colors slightly high. I realize this is how the film was originally presented and it's not a distraction or anything, but it seemed a little "strong" at times. This is my favorite Wes Anderson film and I'm very pleased to have it in my collection. Best Buy gave us a great price and was quick to ship with no minimums like 'zon other companies. :)

Wes Anderson is a polarizing filmmaker; if you like one of his films, you probably like them all, and if you don't like one, you probably don't like any. I happen to love them all. This one features several standout performances from actors who aren't Anderson "regulars"; Hackman, Ben Stiller, and Gwyneth Paltrow all shine in their only Anderson roles to date. Gene Hackman has never been better as the Royal Tenenbaum, the family patriarch. This release is typically excellent for a Criterion disc, full of enlightening supplements.

In my opinion one of the best comedy's ever. Not only is it my favorite comedy, but one of my all time favorite movies. It features an amazing cast and brilliant soundtrack. A must own for any Wes Anderson fans !

The Royal Tenunbaums is a career defining work from director Wes Anderson. The use of color and creative set dressings are excellent. The package put together by Criterion is just outstanding and is a must own for any fan.

If you like Wes Anderson or even if you've not seen any of his work! I highly recommend this film! Trust me, W.A. has yet to make a bad film and criterion assures you of that!

This film is great. It tells a story, unlike many other films out there that are just violence and dumb action.

Criterion puts on the best blu-rays by far and this is no exception. Funny character study movie!

I enjoyed this movie much! Very entertaining! a little nudity was in it but its ok.

Looking forward to all his films on Blu-ray! Life Aquatic will be amazing!
