    Not My Type of Movie

Thought this was going to be a kickass movie but it was more on the cheesy side to me. There was too much hero stuff going. I wanted to see more of a gangster type of life in what the movie gave but I didn't feel it delivered as anticipated. More rawness is what I craved but lacked to see. De Niro playing a boss in this too is a big let down. Others may like this movie but I like hardcore and I didn't get that feeling mostly heroism than anything. I wouldn't recommend this.

In this case the bad guys were VERY bad guys, but the Untouchables weren't as wonderful as is portrayed here. However, they did manage to get Al Capone.

Great movie, but the telecine transfer is just ok. Some dark scenes get some black crush. This movie screams for a complete restoration.

    Untouchables is a great movie

Untouchables is a great movie that I wish I could rate more 5 stars. This movies is a classic, and not only a great crime thiller but a great movie under any genre. Untouchables features the amazing acting of Robert Deniro. The Untouchables is a 1987 American crime drama directed by Brian De Palma and written by David Mamet. The film is based on the book The Untouchables. This film stars Kevin Costner as government agent Eliot Ness who is attempting to take down Al Capone. The movie also features Robert De Niro, Sean Connery, and Andy García. Untouchables was nominated for the Academy Award in the following categories: Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Sean Connery, Won), Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, and Best Score. Thank you for reading my review.

    Classic gangster flick

Brian De Palma's sublime adaptation of the TV series of the same name follows Eliot Ness's (Kevin Costner) attempts to bring down Al Capone (Robert De Niro), who rules Prohibition-era Chicago with an iron hand. After Ness's initial attempts end in failure, a lonely, depressed cop (Sean Connery) agrees to help him by showing him how Chicago operates. To that end, they enlist the aid of a rookie cop (Andy Garcia) & an accountant from Washington (Charles Martin Smith). As their success against Capone increases, so does Capone's determination to destroy them. The sublime acting, production values, & Ennio Morricone's music are added pluses to this film, which proved that there was more to De Palma than just his attempts to emulate Hitchcock.

This is a fantastic movie, my wife and I love it! Robert De Niro is amazing as Al Capone! It also stars Kevin Costner, Andy Garcia, and Sean Connery. This movie contains one of the most memorable scenes in cinamatic history and is considered one of the elite gangster movies of all time. If you haven't seen it by now, you're the only one. Buy it!!! Also, some other great gangster films are Carlito's Way, Scarface, Goodfellas, and of course, The Godfather series.

I stated the story was not historically accurate, not that it's a bad thing, only that the movie is based on the old tv show, not on the real eliott ness. Either way, i love this movie, each of the 4 Untouchables did a tremendous job. One of the few times you see Sean Connery without his toupee, he's worn one since the Bond films. De Niro played a perfect Capone as well.

This is one of the best mobster movies out there. Sean Connery is absolutely brilliant in this feature. I highly recommend picking this one up. It looks and sounds great on Blu-ray. Some will complain about the DNR work done on the feature, but I don't personally notice.

The Untouchables staring Kevin Costner, Andy Garcia, Robert De Niro, Charles Martin Smith and Sean Connery is a great movie about the famous legend of the Untouchables. The Untouchables try to get Al Capone, when finally they find away to get him. They Charge him with Federal income tax evasion. This movie is a must see for any Kevin Costner Fan.

    not quite scorcese quality

recently got on a mafia kick thanks to scorcese and decided to pick this up. it was surprisingly good despite being made in the 80s and me not being a fan of most of the actors in it. there were some really cheesy parts and some AWFUL special effects, but it was the 80s, so it happens. i will sat the picture quality is amazing, the did a great job with the blu ray transfer. it doesnt look 30 years old, kudos to them

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Excellent acting from all 5 principal actors, especially from Costner and DeNiro. Some slow parts, but it doesn't detract from the greatness of the film.

    Great Period Piece

While not what I would consider one of my all time favorites, 'the Untouchables' is still a very good movie and an even better period piece. Excellent performances across the board, and generally exciting, though the film does get slow at times. Still well worth seeing! Anamorphic widescreen, though the bonus features are somewhat lackluster.

This has always been one of my favorites for Connery and Costner roles, but De Niro definitely brought the Cape Fear insanity to his portrayal of Capone.
