I can without a doubt say that Season 5 was by far the best. Usually, in the previous seasons, after the third or fourth episode they (the middle episodes as I like to call them) lose some of the steam till near the end of the season where it ends on a cliffhanger. This season, however, every episode was just riveting (much like each Game of Thrones episode) and filled with some unexpected surprises (not to reveal any spoilers for those who haven't seen this season yet). Also, the cliffhanger of Season 5 just hits it out of the ball park and makes me hunger (zombie pun) to see what Season 6 has in store. Season 5 Blu-ray was worth every dollar spent. My Blu-ray version purchased was the Limited Edition Lenticular 3D picture sleeve (with the zombie reaching out toward you) and was on sale for $29.99 at the time of release. Pretty cool.

After 2 highly disappointing seasons (season 3 & season 4) my faith has been restored in The Walking Dead. Episode 1 starts off with a bang and the season never lets up. As with each season, new characters arrive and beloved characters are (sadly) killed off. One regular character continues to survive despite being a huge annoyance amongst many Dead Fans, but this specific character isn't nearly as loathsome as usual. Maybe becaise he's not as central as he's been in the past. Keep watching through the end credits. Some episodes may or may not have an extra scene after the credits roll.

Love this show. I had to get this Bluray for my collection of The walking Dead. Physical Discs will always be superior to digital. The picture looks great and sound quality is top notch. Digital versions suffer a lot of compression but its great having it on digital for your other devices when you are on the go. The bluray case comes with 5 discs and a code for your digital versions. Have fun watching the show.

I absolutely love The Walking Dead. I think this was by far my favorite season so far. I don't get to watch the show weekly because of my work in the emergency room so I have to impatiently wait for the show to come out on DVD/BluRay. Which may be a good thing as I don't think that I would ever have the patience otherwise...

Cheaper to purchase bluray with digital then to just purchase digital.

All disks played perfectly. Price was exceptional. In store customer service personal was friendly and professional and maintained a good demeanor when I complained about the long wait to get my order when so many employees were standing around and drifting back and forth with bored looks on their faces. I could see the customer service lady was busy doing her job, but when I asked a cashier in the same area if he could help he just said she would help me and went back to staring into space for the 15 minutes I waited. He was still staring into space when I left. A female employee drifted by, SLOW walking about 20 feet from an isle to behind the service counter, she stood there, leaning on the counter like she was exhausted, flipping through some papers then drug herself back where she came from like she was so bored. The whole time the customer service lady was polite to customers and appeared to actually LIKE her job, You need more people like her!!! The DVD is great.

The first four seasons were great, and this one isn’t any different.

Have been a TWD fan for a while and it was great revisiting this season. You will see the transition of Rick and how he deals with those who try to harm his family. Must have for any true TWD fan and their collection.

What can I say, I am a fan of the walking dead series.

What do you say about a show that while professing to be about zombies is really one of the best dramas to hit the airwaves in years. We follow the adventures of our group while being scared to death not of zombies as much as the fact that the producers of this show have already proven on multiple occasions that pretty much nobody is safe and can be killed off (we assume that Rick is a constant but who knows) This season is even more stressful than most since the last season ended on what looks to be a hopeless situation and we don't know if we are dealing with cannibals or what. hang on for the ride because if there is one thing I have learned by watching every episode and that is you really cannot predict what this show is going to do (as evidenced by one particular gut wrenching episode from last season I never saw coming)

The Walking Dead is one of the few current TV shows I keep up with & except for the first season, I wait for the discs to come out as opposed to watching them as they air, so I can binge on 'em! And as usual, when I was halfway through the last episode of 5, I said aloud, "c'mon, really? Don't tell me this is the last one..." With the group reunited & breaking free from the oppressive Terminus situation, season 5 demonstrates very well why this show has longevity. The effects are great, especially the practical effects, but the story and characterization are the real gold. The classic archetypes of "man vs self" and "man vs man" far outweigh the zombie menace anymore. And the taste of "civilization" our gang finds in the second half truly exemplify this. I think this season is even stronger than the last couple.

It takes almost until the beginning of the next season before they release the blu-ray editions of the previous (which is better than some other shows). We enjoy watching the special features during our viewing party for the next season's premier. The treatment of each season has gotten better with the blu-ray version, and the fifth season was worth the wait. As note in my title, the special features alone are worth the price of the set, although I always wait till it goes on sale (and if possible find it at the used CD place). If you are a fan, then it should be a no-brainer (pun intended) to make the decision to add this to the library.
