This is one of my favorite shows still in production. I never watch any of the episodes when they are on TV: I wait for the season to be released on Blu Ray. Nothing is more enjoyable than binge watching something you love. I've been waiting for this season for over a year. SO HAPPY WITH IT! Walking Dead = 5 Stars. The dialogue and plot may not be the best, but the dark nature of the apocalypse with its zombies and psychotics really resonates with me. It is archetypally significant and reflects something important about the fall of the modern world.

The opening episode of this season of The Walking Dead is the best episode in the history of the series. Although the plot is dragged out over several "who cares?" episodes, just as was done in the previous four seasons, Beth's confinement with crazy cops in Atlanta, the butchering of the cannibals at the church, the arrival in Alexandria and Bob's leg getting roasted like a prime rib are all amazing plot points that make you keep watching. Keep the fast forward button ready to skip through the "character building moments" that are tacked on - no one is watching this show to see two gay guys kiss or to feel sorry for Noah, they are watching to see zombies and humans get hacked up. Most annoying character? The priest / Father What's-His-Name that can only seem to offer the emotion of "wetting himself with fear". I hope season 6 shows this tear-streaked buffoon getting chomped in a gory zombie buffet.

I love Game of Thrones. I adore Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad. But The Walking Dead is hands down the best show on tv. Every season ups the ante and tension. What I loved about this season is we got to see the branching storylines on various characters. The drama that unfolds between the humans is the heart of this show and one of it's many strengths. The perfect show for binge watching.

I waited FOREVER to give this show a shot. I have a deep love for zombie films of the past and I was concerned that a modern show like this would kill the art of old fashioned horror makeup artists, a la Tom Savini. I figured that a show full of CG zombies would feel more like a video game. I am happy to say that the creators, writers and actors have made this show incredible. Somehow, everything pieces together to create a new world of zombie fandom for even old school fans like myself.

There isn't much to review on this Blu-ray box set. Either you already like the Walking Dead series, you don't like it, or you have been living under a huge rock and don't know about it. I happen to love the series. Every now and then I struggle with the dragging story line, but overall it has fantastic character development. I own all five seasons and have enjoyed every purchase. A must see series for any science fiction, survival, monster, or zombie fan. Top quality.

Last good season of the show. It definitely overstayed it’s welcome

What else can I say, it's classic Walking Dead! If you are a fan of The Walking Dead you will love season five. I'm a Walking Dead newbie, just started watching from the middle of season five. I was instantly hooked, so of course I had to watch season one thru season four (on NetFlix), then bought season five on blu ray. Finally got to watch the beginning of season five! And here I am ready for season six, only nine days to go!

I bough the Blu-ray combo pack that comes with Digital download. The BR discs are flawless, and the digital episodes quickly were added to my Flixster account with good quality. This season started with a bang, thanks to Carol! I enjoyed this season, as our band of survivors barely survived Terminus, found sanctity with Father Gabriel, but had to hit the road again in search of Beth and eventually Washington DC / Alexandria.

Good quality video, but this is where the show started slipping

The characters are even better than ever. The thing I love the most about this show is the development of the characters and their attitudes. This season has been brutal to the group. Inspite of finding safe haven they lost so many members it could have broken the group. Instead it is bonding them more strongly together. Rick does almost lose it but pulls himself back from the brink with the help of his family.

Another awesome season of the Walking Dead. Although I watch all of the seasons as they happen, this is one series that I will watch over and over again, I also enjoy the extras, including the commentaries. I always learn things that I do not always notice when I watch the shows in the first place. The Walking Dead just gets better and better over time, and I can never wait to see what happens next.

I'm an unabashed lover of zombies in movies & TV. Until Walking Dead, most relied solely on the violence & horror in 2 hour bursts. WD however, while giving us the horror of the monsters in question, shows the humanity lost and struggles of civilization lost, by the survivors. While questions remained after show runner Frank Darabount "left" the series, those questions are answered continuosly ever since: WD lost a great one in Frank, but those left in charge can still offer compelling storylines with only a slight loss of voice. WD S5 isn't the best of the seasons, but still delivers solid fun, scares, and drama with no signs the series is "dying". A worthy addition to the franchise and your collection. It is, however, the first in the previous 3 sets that I didn't feel the special edition "collector statue/ disc case" was warranted.

Season 5 of the Walking dead is an incredible and welcome change in pace and tone! This season is very different than what we have seen before and the show benefits from that. The season starts of with a bang, one of the best episodes of the series to date. And this season is the most, at least to me, emotionally savage, raw, and draining season yet. This season is sure to break some hearts.

Better than season 4 and the drama continues with new threats, new threats and loss. The challenge to survive each day of finding food and water along with who to trust or not is always a risk. The cliffhanger at the end will definitely make me watch season 6 once I receive it tomorrow.

I live in a northern suburb of Atlanta. It was awesome to see my city featured once again the first half of this season. The group decides to leave Atlanta after the loss of one of it's dearest members. With Georgia in the rearview mirror, the group suddenly suffers yet another tragic and shocking loss in one the best episodes of the entire series.

Look, 5 seasons in, you're either going to enjoy the show, or you're not. If you thought seasons 1-4 were "excellent", "very good", or even just "entertainingly watchable", then this is for you. For me, the quality of the show is still excellent, and these blurays keep up the tradition of having great transfers, and solid bonus material. If you like the show, this is a good buy.

First off, this Season has got to be the best in my opinion, has everything, delves into Rick's sanity as well as the crew being split up once again and also the mystery that is Eugene! Still working on getting through the season, but so far so good, I'll finish off my review (Part 2) once I get through the entire content over 600 Minutes of Content, talk about Jam Packed!

If you're a fan of the series, you know the basics. Gruesome zombie kills, survival drama, humans who are far more dangerous than the walkers, characters grow and develop in powerful and unexpected directions, and beloved characters die tragically and heroically. Much of this season comes straight from the pages of the comics. Keep these kinds of seasons coming!

This is one of the best TV shows of this time, in my opinion. I have been a fan of The Walking Dead since it came out, all the seasons blow my mind, but this season is different. It's exciting and so much is going on and the end of each episode leaves you craving more. I burned through this season in a couple of days. It was definitely one of the best seasons.

Season 5 is defiantly my favorite Season of the Walking Dead. Just when you think things can't get any worse, they somehow do. Nearly every character in Season 5 seems to be at their breaking point and it creates some of the show's best storylines and episodes to date! Season 5 can be best summed up best with these famous words: You either fight or you die!
