this is a strange flick, if you are not familiar with Terry Gilliam's films you may not care for it.. it is a visually pleasant film, the story is strange but interesting, again, it's not for everyone

A satisfying companion piece to Brazil

Christopher Waltz plays a troubled man in an oppressive, apparently pointless job in his corporate cubicle. As you'd expect from Gilliam, he explores this not with a bleak gray background, but a garish cartoony near-future world full of madness and humour. I suspect this choice won't be for everyone, as the first hour of the film is slightly over-the-top, particularly David Thewliss's David Brent-like supervisor who is able to show a mannered but more serious side than his Tarantino roles, Gilliam gains unexpected levels of gravitas as he explores themes of isolation in a connected world, constant surveillance and feelings of doom. This can be filed next to Brazil in tone, and is highly recommended for Gilliam fans as his most successful film for many years.

    Not Brazil, but still Gilliam

The movie is not as good as Brazil, but it is still pure Gilliam - dystopic future, intrictate sets, odd characters, mind-numbingly-realistic-and-depressing government insanity. If you're not familiar with Gilliam, don't start your acquaintance with this movie, but if you are, then what are you waiting for?

Not Gilliam's best but worthwhile nonetheless

Let's be honest, Zero Theorem is not Terry Gilliam's finest work (especially when compared to landmarks like Time Bandits and Brazil) but ANY Gilliam film has something worth seeing. You'll probably have to watch this one two or three times until it sinks in, but maybe that's not a bad thing!

I have loved the work of Terry Gilliam from Time Bandits to Brazil to all of the Monte Python movies;. Here is another from his great talent. If you are not into dystopian futuristic ideas, you won't like this one. I am, however, and I loved this movie.

I am a Terry Gilliam fan. His movies are different and probably not something everyone would find interesting. I enjoy his work. Something you can watch more than once and catch things you missed on first view.

I always enjoy watching a movie that's a little left of center. This one is way left of center. If you enjoyed the movie Brazil then you should enjoy this movie. The visual effects are certainly brightly colored

Terry Gilliam does it again. With a return to form Gillian revisits familiar themes in this new interpretation of his 1984 masterpiece, Brazil. Highly recommended to hardcore Gilliam scholars.

This is going to be difficult to write a review without spoilers. So, I say that it was a great looking movie that kept my interest. The acting was spot on and overall a very enjoyable movie.

Being one of the last stores to carry DVDs, I was surprised to find such a great price on a Terry Gilliam Blu-Ray. Good value for the movie. Deluxe packaging is a plus.

like a clockwork orange, this movie is set in the future that will always be in the future, regardless of when you watch this movie. a reclusive man in a society he doesn't fit in with delusional hopes who feels nothing. what does he do? wait and work. but its very challenging complex work, taking far advance physics in a whole new direction, with stunning visuals.

While appreciating the considerable talent of the leading actor, the plot moves with the weight of cement. Start with: he lives alone in an abandoned church.

The bluray version of this film does the visual justice needed for the look chosen by Gilliam, which was one of a cheap looking, yet still advanced future.

The typical Gilliam fair lumped in with an extra dose of self indulgence. It's always interesting when he gives us a peek into his head.

This is a good cult movie but I don't think a lot of people will get the movie. It is hard to grasp at times and difficult to follow.

I bought this Blu Ray because I enjoy high definition movies and the price was so good that I couldn't ignore it. I won't spoil the plot of the movie I'll just tell you that it's about a programmer who receives a job to work on some new theorem. The plot jumps around and don't really come to any type of conclusion.

To best film's like, "Brazil" & "12 Monkeys" is no easy task. It's fantastic fun if not thought as trying to top his classics.

Very different kind of movie, nontraditional, intriguing in a sense. I would recommend it to hard core sci-fi lovers!
