I've had a few different theragun models going back to 2020 and this has got to be the sleekest design-wise, and it's so quiet even at full speed. Being able to adjust speed and utilize the different attachments for area-specific use has made this one a game changer as well. Super effective. 10/10!

    Good Quality But Bluetooth Issues

The Theragun Prime Massage Gun (5th Generation) from Therabody is an overall good quality massage gun but does have a few issues. I appreciated that they minimized the amount of plastic packaging by only using shrink wrap around the main box and additional attachments in tiny bags. Everything else is recyclable cardboard and paper. The Therabody comes already inside the included neoprene case with one of the attachments already installed. Packaging might be a small detail but it is a first impression that matters and encourages using it right out of the box. It arrived with enough charge to do a few rounds of massaging. It uses USB-C to charge and includes a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. There is no brick included and unlike past versions, there is no USB-A adapter head for the charging cable (even though the included booklet indicates there is a USB-A). This is not a big deal as USB-C is becoming the standard for current tech and I have other USB-C cables and bricks, but just something to be aware of if you are still transitioning to USB-C. You do have to make sure you use a higher powered brick as I found that one of my older ones was not enough to charge it. Charging did not take too much time and one charge has lasted me a long time. I have used it almost a week and still have a charge. The overall build of the Theragun is solid and it feels well made. I did notice a strong plastic and rubber factory smell right when I opened it and it still has this smell. It has dissipated somewhat so I am confident it will continue to decrease as it airs out. The Adventure Green color is surprisingly pretty and is a deep neutral green color with rose gold detail. The color makes it seem less clinical and cold. The included neoprene case matches the color of the Theragun and has two interior pockets to hold the charging cord and additional heads. I thought functionally it was going to be more intuitive than it actually was initially. You have to really press hard on the power button and for longer than you think you need to in order to turn it on and off. If connecting with the app, then only a short press is required. I find that it is really difficult to turn it off because the entire machine is vibrating and the power button is not just very responsive. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with hand or finger strength issues unless they are mostly using the app to control. The app is pretty straightforward and easy to pair but I found that there were a lot of bluetooth connection issues. Even with my phone only a foot away, almost every other session has a drop in bluetooth connection in the middle of a very short session. I also was expecting more set programs available or the ability to build your own program from a set of factors. A timer would also be nice to know when to move onto another section if not using a set program. I like that there is a variety of heads included but would have liked more information about each one. There is definitely a learning curve and research required to determine the uses for the heads and where to use the Theragun. I thought the handle shape was great ergonomically and that you can maneuver with two hands if needed. The only part that I found a bit uncomfortable was trying to use it on my back and having to maneuver my arms in different angles to reach. It is a lot quieter than I expected. You can’t really watch tv or listen to music unless at a higher volume but I didn’t find it to be disruptive or annoying. It is a bit heavy though, so might be an issue for those with less strength. Even the lowest level is pretty powerful and does take getting used to if it is your first time using a massage machine like this. It never felt like the machine was struggling to keep up. It also never got warm due to use but I only used it for short sessions under 10 minutes at a time. Overall, this is a good choice but the power button and bluetooth connection are issues that need to be improved.

    Simplifies self-massages with desired intensity!

—----------- Summary —----------- So good!!! This massage gun has it all. With 5 speed levels and 4 heads/attachments, it’s very easy to customize the massage intensity to your specific needs/desire. And the ergonomic triangle shape is genius, since it allows you to grab it from multiple angles, making it easy and comfortable to give yourself a self-massage reaching any area. The ice on the cake is having a companion app with multiple “sessions” available for your selection. Each session automatically starts the Theragun at a predefined speed and stops it after the recommended time. During the session, a video shows you a comfortable way to grab the Theragun and how to properly massage a particular area. Two thumbs up! Absolutely recommended! —---- Pros —---- - Customizable massage intensity: With 5 speed levels and 4 heads/attachments, you can easily find the right level of intensity for any situation. I personally prefer deep massages, and I am really satisfied with how deep I can get with this Theragun! - Ergonomic: Easy and comfortable to give yourself a self-massage, reaching any part of your body. I think this is one of the areas where this Theragun excels. You don’t have to depend on anyone else’s availability since you can easily give yourself a self-massage in a comfortable way! - Small/Cordless/Good battery life: All of this makes this Theragun very portable! Great to bring to the gym or to any trip! - Silent: Even at the highest speed level, this Theragun is really quiet - Slick/Well built: From the packaging to the way it looks and feels, you get the impression this is a very high-quality product - App comes with multiple sessions you can follow and/or use as examples on how to properly massage multiple areas, what attachment to use, and how to comfortably hold the Theragun. Sessions vary in time (as little as 2 minutes), and they are either localized to just one part of the body, multiple body parts, or an entire body massage. —--------------------- Things to improve —--------------------- None of these are deal breakers or even a big deal, but it’s good to know. - This product comes with a USB-C cable but no charger. - Bluetooth connectivity issues: During the sessions, the app got disconnected from the Theragun a few times. Clicking on Reconnect/Retry would always work. - App can be overwhelming: It has multiple sessions/videos and you can filter by workout type. But I originally was looking for examples on how to properly massage just my lower back, or just my legs, but I couldn’t quickly find what I was looking for. You can footer by “Body part”, “Benefit” and “Activity”. But selecting “Calves” as the body part, for example, resulted in 77 available routines. While I found one for “Quads”, there’s no way to select just “hamstrings”. So, it gets some time to get used to the app. - Changing attachments can be tricky at first: Make sure to read the instructions on how to properly change the attachments. To remove the attachment, you absolutely need to grab it with 2 fingers underneath, not over, the attachment and make sure both fingers are close together. You will need to apply some force. The included manual has a drawing on how to properly place your fingers. However, one of the first times I didn’t place my fingers as close as I should have, and only the rubber part of the attachment came out, leaving the inner plastic/metal still plugged in. I didn’t actually realize it until I tried putting in other attachments but they wouldn’t fit. Fortunately, once I realized what was happening, I was able to put back the rubber “ball” back in and properly remove everything by placing my fingers close together and pulling a bit hard. I was worried the attachment had broken but it hadn’t… phew!

This is a handy massager that will be great to travel with. Nice and portable with a case included. The instruction booklet indicates the device comes with USB-C and USB-A. It only comes with USB-C. I really wish these devices came with a wall adapter or at least USB-A. Traveling with a USB-C device means you have to bring your own adapter. Therabody Prime has a lot of power, so start on the lowest setting and increase as needed. There are 4 heads included. The thumb is my favorite as it really works the trigger points. It is also great on the lower back. The standard ball is good for all over your body and works over ribs and shoulder bones without pain. You have to be careful with the thumb ball over ribs and bones as it will hurt. The micro-point is also very helpful to work areas where you want to have a finer tip. It worked great on the arms. The dampener is okay but is really mild so I won’t use it much. We have owned other massagers. This one is easier for my small hands to hold and only weigh 2.1 lbs. Others have a rubberized grip and that is missing from Therabody Prime. Rubberized grips help keep the massager from slipping and it would have been helpful here. Connecting to the Therabody app can help you with massage routines and videos. It does require you to setup an account with personal info. Battery life is excellent at about 2 hours and it charges pretty quick.

Therabody has made a name for themselves in being one of the best in the game for taking care or your body, and their new Prime Massage Gun (5th Gen) is another step at showing they are indeed at the top of the game. PROS: - Unboxing this I immediately loved the design! The Green color is really a luxurious look and the added gold accents is nice as well. The gun is not too heavy and has a nice overall balance to it as well! Setup can be very minimal (just turn it on and go!) or you can connect it via their Bluetooth phone app which is also quite simple. - The Prime Massage gun is pretty straight forward in use! Turn it on with one button, move the intensity level up and down, thats it! I think that ease of use is also a plus. - Another big upside to me is that it charges via USB-C! In a world where more and more charge via USB C, it’s nice to have another item that I carry with me to all charge with the same chord. - The massage aspect it phenomenal! Very nice being able to change the speed on it (in the app you can really focus in on the level) but it does have really nice performance. It has the ability to tenderly handle some muscles yet powerful enough to deal with more stubborn areas. - The handle is also a game changer, being able to grip the gun in various positions really helps and makes it easier to get difficult areas or just not feel awkward while holding it compared to the standard gun handle you see. Seriously, the handle ergonomics really surprised me with how much I liked that feature! - The 4 different tips and carrying case are another big perk! I like the different attachments, the micro-point tip being my favorite, as it makes the massage gun even more versatile and its nice you can carry all the attachments and the gun in one carrying bag together! CONS: - My only downside is that Theragun only lets you use their optional heating and cooling attachment tips to their more expensive guns. It would be nice to be able to buy those for this Prime Gun as well. BOTTOM LINE: - Premium massage guns are well worth the price as they simply perform the best and offer the most recovery for your body and the Theragun Prime 5th gen really showcases that! It’s easy to use, really powerful yet tender, has great versatility with its ergonomic handle and extra massage tips, and has a great battery life. It’s something I have been using everyday and I think a lot of people will be impressed!

I picked the Theragun up for my wife and I. She is a school teacher and spends a lot of her day standing and walking around the classroom. She often complains of lower/upper back pain and sore legs (mostly calves), and I was looking for an ergonomical device that was easy to use, had multiple speeds and attachments, and was cordless. The Theragun works wonders. It comes with four attachments, a dampener which reduces aches and pains for tender areas, a standard ball to use for reducing tension, a thumb attachment which is best for the lower back and easing painful knots, and a micro-point, which increases circulation and helps with recovery. My wife and I mostly used the dampener and the standard ball, and I have used the thumb on her back several times to loosen up knots and work on pressure points with wonderful results. And the results have been fantastic. Over the course of a work week, my poor wife’s calves become extremely tight and sore, due to all the walking and standing she does at work. She’s constantly having to do special stretches to try and loosen things up at the end of the day and get rid of the soreness, but it is always back the next day. She began using the Theragun for five minutes on the low setting on the back of her calves with the dampener attachment, and what a difference it has made! The sore and achy muscles disappear and she doesn’t have to sit down and rest her legs as soon as she gets home. She’s also found that the soreness has lessened as she has used the Theragun. For her back, the thumb attachment has been excellent. She has these knots that develop, particularly on her upper back near her shoulder blades, that results in a sore upper back and can affect her sleep. She’s been using the thumb attachment to loosen these knots up (I actually end up applying it for her to reach them), and she’s found that she gets better sleep. The standard ball attachment provides a very relaxing massage, and at the end of a long week really does help the tensions disappear. I’ve found that applying the Theragun with a light touch on the shoulders where they connect to the neck has been extremely effective with lessening tension and stress. The app on occasion suggests a course of massage treatment that is very beneficial, such as one focused on an overall back treatment that can be performed by the user (don’t have to have a second person to help). The app suggests what attachment to use, provides video on where to apply, and counts down with a timer for each part of the back. I do have a couple of beefs with the Theragun. First, using the app requires the user to input personal information and create an account with Therabody. There should be the option to use the full capabilities of the app without having to create an account and providing personal information. Second, the app is not real user-friendly when it comes to selecting treatment protocols. There are suggested treatments that pop up in the app, but searching for the treatment that we might want at any given point was difficult for us. Instead, we ended up just ‘freestyling’ since we couldn’t find a treatment protocol that we wanted. And third, the Theragun does not come with a power supply/wall plug to charge it, just a USB C to USB C cord. I don’t have any spare wall plugs/PC ports with a USB C port, so I was having to charge the Theragun with a plug/cable intended for other electronic devices. Not a big deal, but I had to unplug things just to charge the Theragun. A wall plug included in the box would have alleviated this issue. Or at least one that was USB A to USB C. But overwhelmingly, the Theragun is a great device. We are just using it as a couple of amateurs, looking to relieve the aches and pains of long work weeks and the tensions that come with life, and it has really impressed us in use. Highly recommended.

"Smart" iteration on a great therapeutic device.

Therabody - Theragun Prime Massage Gun (5th Generation) - Adventure Green Summary: "Smart" iteration on a great therapeutic device. Use: My use case is simple. I work a high stress job made worse by very sudden and intense company changes. I've been working hard on trying to change how I react and process things so that I can more effectively dissipate the stress. Unfortunate, one of the principal ways stress manifests for me is in my body - my neck, shoulders, and lower back. I've used previous versions of Therabody Thereaguns before to great effect. However, I misplaced my unit when moving interstate and needed a replacement. I figured the Prime would be the next thing to try. The unit offers "smart" capabilities. I think for some, they might be useful as they help recommend routines and even set the modes and timers. However, I find them to be nothing more than a gimmick. The device is fairly straightforward to use, there is no need for apps, etc. In fact, using the gun while using the app seems a bit silly and awkward especially if you need to answer the door or something. The app doesn't feature an instant "off" button. So might as well just use the physical button. The unit's various heads make it easy for you to target different parts of your body. The storage pouch, sadly, might be my favorite thing about the device. It safely stores the unit - all Theraguns should come with this pouch if they don't already. The pouch also stores all of the accessory heads with ease, too. The standard USB-C plug makes charging a breeze with cables and PDs you probably already use for your laptops, phones, and other devices. Pros: * Design. The design is consistent. Though it looks a bit weird, the handle does allow for a surprising range of areas to treat. Of course, you can always get someone to help if you're fun that way. But reaching around your back, or behind is easy with this design and its no wonder they haven't changed it. * Controls. The controls are simple and straight forward. Long hold power button to turn on and off. Press the up and down buttons to increase or decrease intensity. The LEDs show the power level. * Power. The unit delivers a very calming (but intense) impacts that help ease out obnoxious knots and relax the impacted muscles. The heads allow for delivery of the desired impact to precise or general areas of treatment. Just clip off and on as needed. * Build. These units feel substantial and well made. I've been the recipient of those holiday special gimmick gifts from friends and family and those feel like hollow toys compared to this unit. Batter life is excellent with plenty of capacity for on-the-go treatment lasting a long time - I would gather a few hours at the intensity I use - though I've never actually used it that long at once or over such an extended period of time. I have used it several times during the day for about 5-10 minutes each. This way, the batter easily lasts several days between charges. * Smart. The app is a thoughtful addition. I can see how it might benefit people that haven't used such a product before. But after a few exercises, I can't imagine folk using the app for primary use cases. It's just easier to have your personal device assistant set a timer and get going. * Heads. There is just enough of a variety of heads that you can target what you need without being overwhelmed with options. Cons: * App. There isn't an easy to get to OFF button that you will need when you want to stop use NOW. Might as well use the power button and it's what I always have to do when I need to interrupt a session. Aside from that, I view the app as more of a gimmick in the long term. The device may seem pricey, but I feel it's definitely worth its weight for the release I feel when treating my shoulders and lower back. If stretches, exercise, or workouts aren't an option or your thing, try the Theragun Prime.

If you work out a lot or regularly participate in a sport (especially for competition), a massage gun is highly recommended for recovery. Likewise, the same can be said if you suffer muscle aches or are recovering from a muscle strain, this can ease the pain in your muscles especially if you have flare ups. I own a Renpho massage gun(nearly 1/3 of the price of the Theragun) that was given to me as a gift so I have the Theragun to directly compare it to. Off the bat, I will say that the Theragun feels better to use - it can pulse at a higher speed when maxed out, and I feel like it can go deeper in massaging the muscles at higher speeds. The massage attachments are also made out of some sort of firm rubber as opposed to the plastic attachments on the Renpho. Moreover, the handle on the Theragun is better for griping (especially when using it at higher settings) that lets you easily adjust your grip. The tradeoff though is that reaching the back with the Theragun isn't that easy with this model as opposed to the Renpho that has an attachment to extend the handle's length. Operation is simple on both massage guns though the Renpho only has one button to turn on/off and change speeds. The Theragun has three buttons, one for turning on/off and the other two is for increasing or decreasing its speed. I will say that changing attachments on the Renpho is easier. The Theragun you have to exert a little bit more force on the attachment to remove it, but that said it does feel rather secure you won't have to worry about it flying off at higher speeds. You can download a Theragun app (Therabody) to connect to as well (Bluetooth). The app is actually useful since it has various scenarios you can run through to aid recovery. It also has a tutorial for each attachment to help you understand what each attachment is best suited for. The Theragun comes with a USB C cable for charging though keep in mind that it does not have a charger of its own. For $300, a charger should have been included though that's a minor complaint since the Renpho didn't come with its own charger either. At a MSRP of $300, the Theragun is very pricey. Most people can get away with using cheaper massage guns, but if you work out a lot or suffer ongoing muscle aches and strains, it might be worth investing into something of better quality like the Theragun. I don't know how durable or how long this product will last, but hopefully it will be for a good while.

I may be in my fifties now, but I keep an active lifestyle. I exercise six days a week, mixing between weightlifting, boxing and regular cardio. I suffer from chronic back pain and, at my age, a new pain often appears out of the blue. Among the different pain relievers I reach out to, the Therabody Theragun Prime has quickly become my favorite not only for its effectiveness but also for its preventive uses. This Theragun Prime looks great in green; Therabody calls it Adventure Green. Out of the box, it feels sturdy and well built from the overall feel when you grip it and the balanced weight. It comes with a nice pouch with the same green color. In addition to the attached standard ball, three additional attachments are included in the package: a dampener, a micro-point and a thumb attachments made to treat different body areas. I had to learn to apply quite a bit of force to remove the attachments. The first time, I was afraid I was going to break it but I got used to it in the end. Barely a half hour charge and the battery was full and my Theragun Prime was ready to go. It can be used with or without the Therabody app. Personally, I like the app; it provides useful recovery and preventive routines, and also good demos. You can establish your own routine right in the app. It connects through Bluetooth and it has been reliable. I’ve been using the Theragun Prime daily to alleviate my lower back, all the other pains creeping up from time to time. So far, it’s been effective and the provided routines in the app have helped in preventing additional pain discomfort. The minimum setting is my favorite setting and quite powerful, but it can be set much higher depending on your needs. I like the fact that it is not very noisy even at higher settings. Using it everyday for an average of 10 minutes a day, the battery lasts quite a long time. I choose to charge it weekly. Overall, the Therabody Theragun Prime has been performing solidly on a daily basis. It has really helped me alleviate my chronic pains and surely has helped prevent more discomfort. If I take good care of it, I’m confident it will last a long time, and I would recommend it to any athletes, active individuals and those in need of pain relief and prevention.

In the world of percussive therapy, the Theragun Prime stands out as a solid option for anyone seeking an effective massage gun that is budget-friendly. It strikes a great balance between professional performance and affordability, making it accessible for most users. The design is very user-friendly, featuring a unique triangular handle that is both attractive and easy to grip from various angles, especially when trying to reach those "hard to get to" areas. Additionally, it comes with four durable foam attachments, which are ideal for targeting different muscle groups. In terms of performance, it delivers impressive results, offering speeds between 1,750 and 2,400 percussions per minute. This provides an opportunity for you to experience effective relief in the deep tissue areas. Additionally, it's quieter than some older models, so you won't create excessive noise while using it. The battery life lasts about two hours, which is decent, but if you use it frequently, you may need to charge it more often. One of the standout features I truly enjoy is its Bluetooth-compatible "Therabody" app. This app offers personalized routines and tracks your usage, making it ideal for athletes or pretty much anyone focused on recovery. Not only does it allow you to control the speeds and duration, but it also guides you through the appropriate treatment you need. Note: this is a very intuitive app, which I think separates itself from its competition. The Theragun Prime weighs in at a whopping 2.2 pounds, which gives it a solid, sturdy feel. It comes with a thoughtfully designed drawstring carrying case (Note: fits in a soft case with the attachment), allowing for effortless travel and convenient storage. It represents a significant investment for anyone seeking effective muscle relief and recovery solutions, especially those using percussion therapy for the first time. Though it does have some minor drawbacks—such as its hefty feel and the noticeable noise it produces during use—the incredible benefits it offers for alleviating muscle tension and enhancing recovery make it a standout choice for those who prioritize their physical well-being.

Alright, so I finally gave in and got the Therabody Prime, and honestly, I'm SO glad I did. I’ve been eyeing massage guns for ages but always thought, "Do I really need this?" Turns out, the answer is a big fat YES. First off, it's super easy to use. I’m not someone who wants a bunch of complicated settings, so the four speeds are perfect. It’s like, find your sore spot, pick a speed, and go to town. I used it on my shoulders after a long day at work, and it felt like I was getting an actual massage – minus the awkward small talk with a masseuse, lol. Another thing I love? It’s not as loud as I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not totally silent, but I’ve heard some of the cheaper massage guns, and they sound like power tools. This one has a nice hum that won’t wake up the whole house. And the battery life is legit; I’ve only had to charge it a couple of times, even with pretty regular use. Price-wise, I know it’s a bit of an investment, but compared to getting regular massages, I think it’ll save me money in the long run. And there’s something SO nice about having it right there at home whenever you need it. Overall, if you’re on the fence about getting a massage gun, I'd say go for the Prime – it’s powerful, simple, and actually works.

This is a great tool for sore muscles. The material seems durable and of great quality. The unit itself is not heavily and can be used with one hand. The unit comes in a unique package that gives you the feeling of a quality product. In the box comes with four different tips that can change the feeling and the pressure of massage. In the box also comes with a storage bag and a charging cable USB C. It only comes with a cable and not the wall charger .The bag itself is made with great quality materials. The unit comes with three different modes and can be used with an app. I've used this massager and can confirm it does the job. This is a great tool to use after the gym or whenever a muscle is sore. I've used the massager on my back muscles and my legs. The unit is easy to use with only three buttons that control the level of vibration. Overall this unit is great for the price. It's made with quality materials and seems durable. I would recommend this massager to anyone in the market looking for one. This would also make a great gift.

I constantly suffer from neck and upper back pain. I'm not sure if it's due to stress or something else, but there are times when I wish someone could massage that area for me. The Theragun has been incredibly helpful in alleviating that pain. I also experience aches in other parts of my body, which I’m sure is just a part of getting older, haha. One specific area where I find relief using the Theragun is the femoral head, which connects my thigh to my hip. It might seem like a strange place to use it, but oh my goodness, it feels fantastic! I've also been using it on my husband's feet, and the relief he feels afterward is remarkable. I'm so glad I don’t have to do the massaging myself anymore. The Theragun comes with three attachments, a charging cable, and a travel bag to keep everything organized. The app is a must-have; it’s packed with tips, music, and routine videos on how to use the Theragun. This app has been extremely useful for me, and I often revisit it to learn how to use the device properly. The speeds are incredibly powerful; even on the lowest setting, it remains strong. While I don’t mind the intensity, a slightly lower setting would be nice. I do feel a little sore the day after using it, but I would rather experience that soreness than be in pain. The Theragun is a bit heavy for me since I have short arms and a petite frame, so after a few minutes, I usually have to put it down.

Started off buying cheaper brands on amazon that i thought were doing the trick but would die very quickly and need to be repurchased. Found one i liked on sale at best buy and pulled the trigger… forever grateful, from the way the different attachments are inserted you could tell qualitu was way better, added phone app to help target whatever specific muscles made it even more legit and mainstream…

Bought this for my son who uses it faithfully after every basketball practice or game for recovery. I used recently for recovery after shoulder pain from shoveling snow. It is excellent! Relieved pain and no stiffness whatsoever.
