Was not a first of 30 seconds, but after seeing Leto in a few movies and the seeing the background story of the record... I've become a fan.

Thirty Seconds To Mars' "THIS IS WAR-DELUXE EDITION" hit me like a truck. Jared Leto, Shannon Leto, and Tomo Milicevic have spent 2010 literally criss-crossing the globe on a soul crushing juggernaut of a machine called "Into The Wild" like an out of control Transformer conquering the world to promote "THIS IS WAR". Never has a band worked so hard to welcome their believers into the family.This is a concept album in its purest form. You cautiously venture into the almost alien intro of "Escape", and immediately get slammed with the whip cracking "Night Of The Hunter". A moment to catch your breath with the band's true song of redemption, "Kings And Queens", before the title track pulls you under, but then gently lifts you up in "100 Suns". The ominous piano on "Hurricane" is devastatingly potent, while the combination of church organ, synths, and The Echelon's reassuring choir of voices on "Closer To The Edge" and "Vox Populi" prepare you for a sneak attack on "Search and Destroy". The victory is short lived with the emotional lows and soaring highs of "Alibi" leaving you broken. You get back up and focus with laser precision on "Stranger In A Strange Land" and finally emerge on the wasteland of "L490", arriving in the safe arms of the heavenly Gaden Shartse Monks. It is not surprising that listening to this record is like a religious experience. Jared Leto's vocals are so wildly bombastic and over the top that you wonder how an artist would have the audacity to even try this nearly aurally inhuman feat. But he does it effortlessly and amazingly. The bonus material and live interaction and inclusion of Kanye West was lovingly chosen with the fans in mind. The video for "Kings And Queens" is breathtaking and visually stunning and the video for "Closer To The Edge" is the sweetest valentine the band could give to their fans. Thirty Seconds To Mars' "THIS IS WAR-DELUXE EDITION" is the result of many dedicated fans and believers around the world and a band of 3 musicians who really appreciate them. I guess this means I like it!

This is a fabulous version of this album!!! I am so happy I waited! The tracks are great, the short films are great, the behind the scenes are great! I absolutely love it and the band is one of the greatest, they love their fans like no other and show it through their interactions live as well as virtually, true entertaining artists!
