Great "final entry" to the Thor trilogy of movies

Supposedly this is the "final entry" in the trilogy of Thor centric movies...but who knows, money talks. The movie is quite humorous and the action is fun. Many people consider this entry as the best of the Thor movies. The UHD disc is outstanding for video and audio as is the blu ray. Sets up the next Marvel movie, Infinity War, perfectly.

Thor Ragnarok is a great movie, and is an integral link to the final episodes of the Avengers saga. I will admit, I was not the biggest fan of this movie when I saw it in the theater ..but the more I’ve seen it the more I really like it. That’s why it’s a must have for any Avengers library, and rounds out a great Thor trilogy.

Thor is back and better than ever! Ragnarok is a quirky romp, featuring incredible special effects and witty dialogue. Cate Blanchett vamps it up, Jeff Goldblum chews every scene he’s in, and the Jade Giant makes a special guest appearance. The SteelBook packaging is the perfect bow on this gift of a movie in the Merry Marvel Tradition!

I'm new to the MCU franchise but so far I'm loving each movie I watch. I was never one for Superhero's as child they weren't my thing but now They all stand out to me and I'm intrigued by them. I have watched Thor: Ragnarok before and if the other Thor movies are like this I will defiantly be happy with them like I am with the 3rd film.

I have enjoyed the Marvel Universe Disney has presented and have been a fan of Thor and Norse mythology my entire life. Having said that, this has been one of my favorite super hero movies to date. It presents a fun, compelling story but infuses it with so much humor that it makes it a joy to watch from start to finish.

Any Marvel movie you buy are going to be good but the Thor series is especially good. There's a lot of comedy mixed in with the seriousness of the film. The special effects are pretty awesome as well. You'll enjoy any of the Thor movies

Chris Hemsworth back again as the Norse demigod and most likely the best Thor solo movie yet. Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins all reprising their roles and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie was a magnificent casting. Not to mention the captivating Cate Blanchett as the villainess, Hela.

Ragnarok and roll with the best of the Thor films

I've long been a loyal follower of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, enjoying nearly all of the films and the continuing story they've been weaving for over ten years now. But it seems that out of all their main characters, Thor always gets the short end of the stick. His first movie was perfectly fine, while the sequel, "The Dark World", has been heralded by most fans as one of the weakest/worst movies of all the MCU films (and I kind of tend to agree--it wasn't awful, but certainly forgettable). So when a third installment was announced, the response was initially lukewarm. But as more trailers were unveiled, I got more and more excited, knowing that whatever we were going to get looked FAR better than Thor's previous two outings. And my prediction was right. This is not only Thor's best movie, but easily one of the most entertaining of all the MCU films. Two years after the events of "Age of Ultron", Thor has been unsuccessfully searching for the Infinity Stones, and is imprisoned by the fire demon, Surtur. Surtur reveals that Thor's father, Odin, is no longer on Asgard, and that the realm will soon be destroyed in the prophesied end-of-days, Ragnarök. After defeating Surtur, Thor returns to Asgard to find his brother Loki posing as Odin. Thor forces Loki to help him find their father, and with some help from Doctor Strange, they locate Odin in Norway. Odin then reveals that he's dying, and that his passing will allow his firstborn child, the goddess of death, Hela, to escape from a prison she was sealed in long ago. With Odin's passing, Hela is freed, and she subsequently destroys Thor's hammer Mjolnir, then forces him and Loki out into space to die. But while she sets out to conquer Asgard, unbeknownst to her, Thor and Loki fall through a wormhole and crash land on Sakaar--a garbage planet where they're both captured, and where Thor is taken to serve as a gladiator for the planet's ruler, the Grandmaster. But after discovering his old friend, the Hulk, has also been living on the planet for some time, along with a long lost fellow Asguardian, Thor rallies together his friends and the planet's citizens to overthrow the Grandmaster and find a way off the planet, so that he may return home, defeat Hela, and save Asgard. Anyone who's become bored of Thor's character in his previous two films will be pleasantly surprised here. Gone is the traditional Shakespearian talk, and what we get instead is a fast paced, funny movie that dials the humor up to 11 and, dare I say it, is even funnier than the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Even for a situation as serious as Asgard potentially being destroyed (and with plenty of previously established Asgardians meeting their ends), the movie hits the perfect balance of knowing when to be serious, and when to let the humor and absurdness of certain situations shine. (And to any Led Zeppelin fans, yes, the "Immigrant Song" from the trailers is in the movie, and used to great effect.) About the only criticism I can give is that the plot is incredibly fast paced, particularly towards the start, where a TON of info-dumping is given to explain what happened between "The Dark World" and now, and give backstory to the new characters---thus revealing that many of the previously established lore from the past Thor movies either was a lie, or a cover up. But it's all handled very well and makes total sense (it just goes by fast, so be prepared to pay close attention). Every single character gets their time to shine, and not one person steals the whole movie. Everyone, both hero and villain, is funny and memorable. Hela is having the time of her life destroying everything in her wake; Asgardian newcomer Valkerie has an interesting past (and though as much as I like Jane Foster, Val arguably makes for a better love interest for Thor), and the Hulk finally gets a chance to fully talk and articulate himself, thus leading to the movie not only being about Thor, but also being a small, sly adaption of the famous "Planet Hulk" storyline from the comics. And it all ends with a shocking final battle that does for Thor what "The Winter Soldier" did to Captain America. So to any naysayers of the Thor films, this third installment will definitely be your cup of tea. With a fast, engaging plot, memorable characters, and witty humor, this is the huge kick in the pants that Thor needed.

While this movie doesn't rise to the same level as many of the other MCU films, it was still eminently entertaining! It won't win any awards for acting, dialogue or emotional moments and the heavily CGI'd fight sequences were a little too busy, but you'll still find yourself caught up in the action!

This is a superhero action comedy and I love it. I've always been a comic book nerd since I was a kid and this is a great movie paying tribute to much of the art from the Thor Ragnarok and Planet Hulk graphic novels. Fun movie to watch with the family. Blue-Ray and Digital Copy... what's not to love...

Thor benefits immensely from the fresh direction in this movie. His character development really shines here and paves the way for even more growth in Infinity War. I hope Hemsworth sticks around the MCU after Endgame, because his new and improved Thor is one of my favorite characters.

This movie is literally 4K perfection. I've seen just about every "top 10" 4k movie so far and this one has the best picture and sound quality of any 4k movie I've seen to this point. Definitely worth getting on 4K even if you already own it on bluray. Can't recommend this one enough.

No. 5 in the list of MCU Films (Phase Three), and really hits it out of the park! An excellent mix of action, drama, violence and a little humorous comedy here and there, combine to makes this one of the best of the series. No dvd collection is complete without this film in it!

I’d not been a fan of the Thor series of films but marvel really turned things around with this one. Not only is this a great Thor movie, but probably one is the top 5 marvel movies to date. This is a great multimedia set, allowing the family to watch when and where they want too

This movie has it all! Great action, comedy, likeable characters, great actors and an awesome soundtrack. Loved the whole vibe of the movie. Thor is my favorite character in the MCU and after Dark World I thought that might change, but these movie totally redeemed him for me.
