Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the ease of use, excellent picture quality, and smooth interface of the Mini. Many appreciate its compatibility with other TiVo boxes and the ability to stream content. While some users noted occasional lag and tuner limitations, the positive feedback on performance and ease of setup outweighs these concerns.

TiVo Mini the perfect companion for your TiVo Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TiVo Mini brings the multi-room experience to the TiVo Universe. The TiVo Mini is a great companion piece to bring the TiVo experience without having to add multiple Cable Cards and Multiple TiVo Service fees to different rooms of your house or apartment. TiVo Mini is compatible with all TiVo Roamio's (Roamio OTA and Roamio Basic requires a MoCA bridge to use the MoCA enabled TiVo Mini# and Premiere 4 and Premiere XL4 #You can still find these on sites like eBay for a really in expensive price). Having the ability to record shows on a central TiVo box and stream them to other rooms #Up to 6 Mini's can be connected to a single TiVo Roamio# with the ability to watch Live TV and your recordings, schedule season passes, and do pretty much everything you can with your main TiVo box. The only caveat to the TiVo's MoCA setup #which is a great way to hook up your TiVo Mini to your main TiVo box# is you will need a MoCA POE #Point of Entry# Filter to keep the MoCA signal inside your house. I have had my TiVo mini for 2 months now and I love it, the low profile combined with the RF remote #replaced the RF remote with the Slide Pro remote) makes this a win for those who want to hide their cable box behind a closed cabinet door or even behind the TV, or mounted on the wall. If you own a TiVo that is compatible with the TiVo mini it's a no brainer as for the price it includes Product LIfetime Service, potentially saving $15 a month on TiVo service fees.

Don't waste your time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased. It's sitting on a bookshelf in my backroom. If your house is wireless (like mine), the network system in the Tivo mini doesn't work well over the cable system as advertised. My best friend turned out to be my Apple TV.

Don't get unless you have Ethernet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terrible experience installing this over MOCA network. Spent more time troubleshooting between 3 visits from Time Warner and many hours on phone with TIVO support. TiVo needs to improve support and how to work with cable installers.

Difficult for me to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your router is not very near your TiVo unit, you will need additional parts! It is not plug and play!way cheaper than buying another unit and no monthly fee.

Great addition but can be a pain to setup.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great once it is properly setup. Streaming from the main TiVo works great and it is a perfect way to setup a whole home DVR including streaming movies and music through sites like Pandora and Netflix. There is no TiVo fee associated with using a TiVo mini, it does rely on a full size TiVo that may require a fee. Something to know upfront, TiVo does not support the use of switches when networking a TiVo and TiVo mini. All TiVo devices have to be connected either directly to a cable modem/router or by way of a MoCA network. I will tell you how I set mine up to save you some headaches. I have a TiVo Bolt connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable and then have that Bolt running its own MoCA network so the TiVo mini can connect to it through the MoCA connection (through coax). I hope some of you find this review helpful.

Excellent product, a plus that it's not wireless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many people, my cable bill is rising out of control. I have 5 cable boxes and a Cablevision DVR that I'm paying $67 a month just for the equipment. I bolt the Tivo bolt and mini's specifically to get rid of all this cost with the equipment rental fees and it's great for that. I've calculated that after 10 months the Tivo will pay for itself. Great product, easy to setup, but requires patience for these products to activate on Tivo's servers (Can take up to 24 hours).

Small but Powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have multiple televisions in our home. I purchased a Tivo due to getting poor recording options and space allowed from my cable company's DVR. If you own a Tivo then these Mini's are a great addition. Compared to the price of the main DVR, they're worth the cost. They extend all of the recordings of the main TIVO into the room they're placed in, and you can record and watch Netflix, youtube, etc on these just like you can on the main box. A word of caution though: please learn about Moca networking before finalizing your purchase. You need either a Tivo box that is capable of working as a Moca Adapter (Roamio Plus/Pro, or Bolt) or you must hard-wire connect it with an Ethernet [internet] or co-ox [moca network] cable. The setup took about an hour after you call and get the box activated, and download all of the updates. When I first set it up I was a little scared something went wrong .... I followed all of the directions, but it couldn't initially find my Tivo. I was using the Roamio Plus as a Moca Adapter, but found that I had to restart the Tivo for some reason and then it did manage to locate the main Tivo DVR. Since then, all is working fine. I love that I purchased this little box. It has a very small footprint, and was worth the price I feel. It is helpful to know that it doesn't need a monthly subscription service unlike the main Tivo.

Excellent TiVo extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent little box to extend cable service (or just DVR) to another TV. Setup can be a bit of pain (activate it *before* plugging it in), and wiring is really a must, whether with MoCA bridges, Powerline adapters, or Ethernet. Benefit of that, though, is that it's a snappy performer, with barely a lag between channels, and has every function the main TiVo box has, including OnDemand.

Perfect companion for TiVo Roamio
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is perfect for adding TiVo to another room of your home. It integrates seamlessly with TiVo Roamio products and works exactly as you would expect it to. Gives you access to all of the content available on your main DVR, to include your recordings, live TV, and online content.

Nice Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the fact that it's so small, easy to install, no monthly fees. Only drawback to full featured units is you can only control or "view" one channel at a time, so you can't stop one show and go to another show... then go back to where the other show was. Therefore, you can't effectively skip commercials (watch another show or surf during commercial break and then go back to the show). Great for what it is.

Works very well.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this mini in our media room along with the OTA TiVo dvr box. The picture quality is excellent and the speed of the operation is similar to that of the main TiVo box.

Good interface, so so hardware, so so performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You read all the review about how good this as additional unit on top of existing main TiVo machine. Interface and navigation are excellent. Let's get to the downside right away: - TiVo HDMI hardware has issue. Roamio Pro, Tivo mini, whatever, they will fail in a year or two. Do research and this is common issue. Under warranty for mini it is $30 to replace it. Consider this on top of the price before buying. -Using TivO with Cox requires big chunky decoder box and some strong signal for that decoder. Without it channels are not authorized. So if you split the coax feed make sure you have easy access to play with it. - Tivo mobile interface doesn't work, choppy or completely not available most of the time. And only broadcast recording can be viewed from this app, copyright restriction. -Tivo guide is not your cable provider guide, when cable provider change their channel list, or title, your scheduled recording will fail, and you will scratch your head to find where it is since from TiVo interface all looks good. But after updating and (hopefully) Tivo sync their channel list you see ..oh it's moved, oh the title is changed, etc.

Great unit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.works great with my tivo Bolt. Set up was easy and I just used the Ethernet set up. I have my Bolt hooked up to a AC Wifi Extender via the ethernet cable downstairs and the Mini is connected directly into the AC router. Connections are working just find. I will test more when I have more traffic on my network to see if that affects anything.

Fantastic and easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my TiVo Minis. I have two of them connected to my Roamio. Instead of hardwiring my house, I connected them to my Netgear Orbi Satellites. Works perfectly with no lag and I don't have to have a separate tuner from Comcast.
