Perfect DVR for Cord-Cutters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing how things come full circle. My first DVR was a Sonic Replay nearly 15 years ago. I hooked it up to my antenna and was off to the races. Eventually I migrated it to cable before cable provided a DVR. Over the course of several cross country moves, I transitioned through multiple television providers and utilized their DVR's, all at a premium. For at least the past two years, I've wanted to ditch the cable and switch back to an antenna. The only hold-up has been my dependence on a DVR. Enter the TIVO OTA. It is simple to setup and install; easy to operate. It allows multiple (4) shows to be recorded simultaneously which is more than ample for the 14 OTA channels I receive. The remote is simple and functional. It simply works, and works well. The only “complaints” I have are relatively minor and should be considered feature or function requests. 1. There is not a “stop” button on the remote. If you are watching a previously recorded show and want to end the show, my logic says you should push the stop button. Perhaps this is a carry-over from my VCR days. Nevertheless, I instinctively find myself searching for the stop button. Instead, you simply press the “back” button to return to the DVR menu, or press some other function (guide, live TV, etc). 2. There is not an “off” button for the DVR on the remote. I understand you never really turn the DVR off as that would prevent it from recording shows. Instead, it really should go to standby. But there isn’t a way to do this with a simple button push on the remote. So the “on” light on the DVR remains lit all times. You can place the DVR in standby through a series of menu presses. It would be nice to be able to do this with a simple button push. Additionally, it would be nice to be able to schedule this after some period (3 hours perhaps) without a button press. 3. The MyShows list which unifies your recordings becomes a bit cluttered. It would be nice to be able to group recordings as I see fit. Currently the box attempts to provide a couple filters (kids, TV shows, etc). It would be nice if I could assign recordings to custom groupings. Overall, it is a great box for a great box. It does exactly what I want at a fraction of the cost of the “standard” TIVO boxes or my cable providers.

Good Over the Air DVR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is great to cut the Cable ties by recording OTA programs. One catch though is that you have to connect to high speed internet to activate the box and you have to sign up for the monthly service fee to get the program guide. The guide is very good, better than when ROVI use to provide it over the air for free. One draw back I had was the wireless kept disconnecting (the only box in the house that had this issue) so I ended up hardwiring it to my service for the guide and Netflix anyways. A plus is it actually records 4 programs at once, 2 more that my previous OTA DVR. However I would prefer that it had a 1 hour buffer for Live TV instead of 1/2 hour buffer. Nice box for the price. I plan on getting the external drive to expand the storage capacity.

THE SOLUTION! for Cable-Cutting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the product you have been looking for. Seamless integration of OTA TV, DVR, and streaming services such as HULU, Pandora, VUDU, Amazon. The DVR and the multiple antennas allow you to not miss any of your favorite events or weekly broadcasts. If you want to watch movies or older TV shows, the streaming services are great. We do not miss cable at all. The subscription service allows you to have a complete TV guide at your hands at all times so you know when your favorite programs are and can DVR them. It will even schedule the whole season. The small subscription fee is worth it, and its a minimal amount compared to the $100+ for decent cable service. The solution for cable cutters is here, and its a great value. Do not hesitate to buy this product, you will not be disappointed. You can have everything you want for minimal cost, this product is proof.

Works Well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price of the unit was very good and it works well enabling me to records my favorite PBS shows as I can not watch them live. It would be better if I could pay the subscription on the yearly plan as you can with other Tivo systems. It is easy to use (my 6 and 8 year old daughters had no problems with it) and now we use this instead of our Blue-ray player for watching Netflix and other streaming services.

Cord Cutter's delight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TiVO Roamio OTA is everything I wanted and more. It is a full DVR for antenna based TV and integrates online services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and others. I replaced a Windows Media Center PC (thanks a lot Windows 10) with the Roamio OTA for TV viewing and haven't missed the PC at all.

The product exceeds my expectations!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product was purchased to help eliminate missing out on shows my wife and I enjoy. This device makes it possible to view when we want. We have two Tivo Roamio OTA devices in use. They are the best, and they were very simple to setup. Kudos to Tivo!

Great DVR!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently "cut the cord", dropping DirecTV. We pick up great reception OTA (over the air), and could no longer justify paying $100 or more for satellite service when we don't use 80% of the channels. This OTA TiVo unit works smoothly bringing in HD signal. We can also start recording a broadcast midway thru or beyond, and it will go back and begin the recording from the beginning of the episode. It's nice to have TV work with your own schedule rather than being subject to broadcast schedule only. Not missing satellite!

Wonderful device for apps and recording!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my Tivo! The only reason I was keeping my satellite provider was to have a recording device. Tivo to the rescue! Not only did I get rid of the expense of satellite, I can now record up to 6 shows at one time and have all my apps such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime all in one convenient place!

I love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a new TiVo customer, and I'm sold! Regardless, I'll start with the only negatives I have for this wonderful device: I want the monthly service fee to be less than $15/mo -- or to have an option to purchase a lifetime subscription, but I cannot; I want access to all my local personal media (pictures, music, videos) from my media server for free, but I have to either spend $15 or roll-my own streaming server; I want to be able to stream Crackle content, but I cannot; and I want the remote to have back-lit keys for nighttime usage, but it does not; and finally, I want to be able to 'cast' from more apps directly to my TiVo, but cannot. Other than those minor gripes, the user interface is superb! The fact that I can search all my stored TiVo content + online services (Netflix, VUDU, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, YouTube, etc.) from a single search interface is amazing! The large internal storage puts my pathetic Time Warner cable DVR to shame. For example, I currently have 215 movies and TV shows stored on my TiVo, and still have 25% free storage; while my TWC DVR can only store a maximum of about 50 shows. I love TiVo Suggestions and Wishlists too. Simply setup things you like, or rate shows on the TV Guide using 'Thumbs Up' and 'Thumbs Down' buttons on your remote, and TiVo automatically learns your preferences, and will record shows that it thinks you'll enjoy (space permitting). Highly recommended.

Awesome OTA DVR, great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great interface, easy to use. We love being able to record OTA television channels. Really nice channel guide and search function. Made it easy to transition from the cable to broadcast television. Only improvement I could think of is voice search capability.

Good Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, far we like our Tivo... it's just a matter of getting used to it... We had a bit of trouble installing because we are not very savvy when it comes to these type of things, but we had the geek squad come out and do that for us, the young man that came out was great. We know we will save a lot of money by having this device and using our antenna. We are seniors and we need to cut cost and we will definetly save money with this item.

Love this TiVo!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was extremely hesitant to get rid of my satellite, I've had it literally since they first came out with those HUGE dishes that take up your whole yard. I can honestly say that I am so glad I did. I actually like the TiVo better! I have add on subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu and I have never felt like I've missed a thing without the satellite. It so convenient to switch over and the guide actually is more user friendly and gives me more information that my satellite guide did. This is a purchase I am definitely glad I made!

Best dvr I have had
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this dvr. I can record enough shows at once (4) to no longer have conflict issues. It works great for me. The netflix and amazon programs load and run so much faster than the previous dvr's I have had. The price was great for a dvr of this quality. The only down side is the monthly charge, for the dvr service and tv guide. I think it is way high since they are not providing the channels, the antenna is doing that. Still, here I am with a great dvr, and happy to have it.

Saves me a ton of money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a direct tv customer for about 8 years. Towards the end the only channels I was watching were the locals. I tried an OTA and it worked like a charm! I now just pay $15 a month for Tivo instead of over $70 to DTV. The Tivo Roamio is so much better than the Directv DVR.

Awesome dvr for cord cutters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We truly are not disappointed with TiVo. We absolutely LOVE it! We are amazed that we don't even miss cable because we able to record 4 shows at a time.. We are watching PBS, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC and more! Very user friendly as I connected it myself and that says a lot!

Great DVR for Over The Air television
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great solution for DVR without cable or satellite. We cutting the cord, and couldn't imagine what it would be like without our DVR. I saw this for $50 and thought it would be worth a try. It works great, it has 4 tuners, to record multiple programs, and the hard drive is big enough to hold a bunch of programming. It also integrates web services like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu into the program search, so you can find shows that you can't get OTA. There is a $14.95/month fee, to use the Tivo and you are committed for 1 year, once you sign up. We do have some problem with Youtube stalling, but Amazon, Netflix and Hulu work without a problem.

Not bad for price of dvr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi I bought this to use to record over air channels for bed room . It's was cheap price for what it does . You need a good antenna to get local channels work good when I try to register it on line it wouldn't let me unless I put my credit card in for there service and to use it for streaming too but u can cancel any time and my streaming like Hulu plus stills work even after cancel service . Over all 50 bucks is not bad at all to record your favorite shows up to 4 at same time it's better than one I have from direct tv .
