Easy to use and Works Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product relieved a lot of stress around my house. I had used other over the air DVRs, but they were so clunky, and they seemed to forget what you wanted to record, or forget what you want to ignore. The Tivo works flawlessly. - Yes, there is a monthly subscription fee (about $16 when you include tax)- but it is well worth it for the easy to use guide.

Tivo Roamio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got TiVo Roamio for our family room about a month ago to replace cable and we like it alot! Haven't been able to find every show we watched but 98% is good enough for us. Easy to set up. A few streaming glitches prevented 5 stars. Very happy, don't miss cable at all. Go ahead, cut the cable!

Does what I wanted: record OTA tv!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I basically bought this so I could record OTA TV. Years ago I had a DVD/DVR machine, but it does not do OTA recording. Seems most don't. This was a cheap solution. The unit was inexpensive, but you do have to buy into the month plan. Still, it's less than cable per month. I have never used TiVo before, so I am still getting to know the interface. I do not watch much TV at all. But I have this to record just a couple of shows and to be able to DVR the news. It does that and I have an app on my phone that ties into the machine, so I can record shows away from home. Works well!

Outstanding operation.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up with over the air antenna. Great picture and the remote is very nice in all the different functions. The only thing I don't like is you have to go to settings in order to turn it off or in the standby mode. But it will still record channels you set up when in the standby mode.

Great option for cord cutters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tivo unit is great for us cord cutters since not only will it allow for you to use an indoor HD antenna but also it has other apps like Netflix and Hulu Plus and others built right in so all of your TV viewing is on one unit. Also, it's interface is easy to work with and the customer service from Tivo has been wonderful.

Great DVR for cord-cutting!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Tivo Romio OTA because I was looking for a DVR that did not require a cable card. I read reviews for competitor DVRs and the quality did not seem to be there for the other brands. This DVR does require a $14.99/month subscription, but I'm happy with the functionality and feel the subscription is worth it.

Eh?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After cutting the cord from TWC, I both a flat HD OTA Antenna from Amazon, which is AWESOME. But, I thought I wanted DVR too. To be fair, not work the $15/mo for upkeep, and probably will return.

It is very nice and is as described.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with my TiVo purchase. I am still working on improving my OVR TV reception. I currently receive around 21 stations and sometimes a few more. Most of those stations are incredibility clear and a very sharp picture.

Nice box, but I'd get the regular Roamio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the box a lot, but the OTA only takes signals from an antenna, and you can't hook it up any other way. If you ever decide to get cable, you can't upgrade the box, and would have to buy another. You can also do an annual subscription with a regular Roamio. The box itself is very nice. Records shows that I like, and does great with the movies on grit and some of the other channels. These are movies that I like to watch. Haven;t seen some of them since I was a kid. Never knew there was so much good TV. The guide and Netflix, Amazon, and youtube make it cool. Can also transfer OTA movies to the computer when I need disk space,

Nice alternative to OTA broadcast tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice format for watching OTA tv. All the features work fine. Wish it were a little faster at loading the apps. DVR and guide are better than any other brand DVR that I've used. Monthly fee is a little steep at $15. Minimum 1 yr contract. I'd love to get the new 4K bolt, but have to wait for the contract to end.

Big improvement over Verizon FIOS DVR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently cut the cord (tired of the crazy bills from verizon) and this TIVO DVR is what helped me make the transition smoothly. The TIVO interface is the best and it auto-records shows it thinks you'll like. It also searches through Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Instant Video all at the same time so you do have to go into each interface separately to search for a show or movie...love that feature.

Great product for OTA houses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great DVR for houses that use OTA. Four tuners mean that you can record whatever is on and it has more than enough storage capacity. TiVo has a great app for setting recordings when you're away from home, which has come in handy several times. Wireless is built in - no dongle needed, as with the older models. I set one up at my parent's house to allow them to use a TiVo Mini on another floor - I did have to put an ethernet wall outlet nearby to facilitate that, but it works great. One DVR serves both floors.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so glad to finally be rid of cable companies! The Tivo does everything I need. More than enough shows to record to keep me watching TV for a long time! $15 a month versus $120....NO BRAINER!!!

Only need one of these boxes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TIVO account only allows one box per subscription. You'll have to get TIVO mini to access your TIVO on additional TVs. Great service! Easy to set up and easy menu.

What I was looking for and more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TIVO was easy to hook up to my TV, easy to create an account and mostly intuitive when using the remote and features on the TV screen. The search function is great and One Pass allows me to set up recordings for my favorite shows quickly. This model is for those who use an antenna to get their TV channels and not for those who have satellite or cable TV. I think the only disappointment is that I had hoped it would bring my channels in better, more consistently without static. I wasn't told that would happen, that was just my hope.

Did not do as the ads alluded to doing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just wanted a simple OTA DVD. NO Need for Netflix or other services. Recorded great for first week or so. Had to power down for several days. When I powered it back up unit said it needed to be registered and be charged $15 a month. Too much to just do simple recording. Returned unit for refund. Write up never stated a service was required to just OTA recording.

Great for cord cutters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The interface takes a little getting-used-to. I like that it will record stuff it thinks you may like. But it will delete those first if it starts running out of room. My only negative is the monthly subscription.
