Good choice for the cord cutters

Recently cut the cord decided to pick this service up as an option. It does what its supposed to do keep you entertained with large amounts of programming options. Hulu is a good option for all around programming. Netflix for movies and Tivo seems to be adding new apps every month. Of course theres other options on the market but this rig will record your shows for you unlike most others. For the price 49.99 cant go wrong. Seems everyone is upset about paying a monthly service fee through Tivo. I will tell you right now I was the same way but actually you get what you pay for in these services rendered. If you decide to pick up cable again and need a box this will only pick up the standard cable channels ie. 2-79 a decent option if you need an extra dvr and dont want to pay the cable company an extra $10 for the dvr service that you pay to Tivo already. Again cant miss on this OTA system worth a try.

A Fine DVR for OTA and Apps

As a previous TIVO Premier owner, I have to say the the TIVO OTA is a vast improvement. The speed and reliability of the apps is so good, it is the only thing I'm using for Netflix, etc.
It has 4 tuners, though I haven't really been able to flex it's recording muscles yet.
I will say that the tuners are better at pulling in a signal than the Premier was, but still isn't as good as the old TIVO HD. So, if you live in the boonies like I do, make sure you have a big antenna for the attic or to put on your roof.

Had been planning on cutting the cable for quite some time now and when I saw this Tivo OTA dvr I knew it was time. Purchased a Clear Stream antenna and a Tivo Mini and for $250 I replaced my cable company with FREE TV AND 47 CHANNEL. Best purchase I have made this year. NO MORE CABLE BILLS!

I bought this to be able to record my shows when I'm at work and hoped that I would be able to get more signal from my antenna, but I still have to move my antenna when I can't get enough signal, and the picture still jumbles when there's not enough of a signal. Otherwise it's a great product, you can even get your Netflix and Hulu on it along with a lot of things for the kids which is good for when my niece and nephew are over.

After much research I decided on the TiVo OTA DVR . Canceled cable and put up antenna,we kept our internet for Netflix and Vudu . We love this DVR, they recently added commercial skip feature thats great . We will never have cable again. One of the features I like is being able to connect to my surround sound via HDMI cable , most major network's broadcast in Dolby .

I set this up to record my over the air tv channels, it has a great remote, tv guide, is simple to use, and recommends additional programs based on history. All my shows are there when I want to watch. Only downside is a low monthly fee, but hey, not everything is free.

I somehow ordered two of these units by mistake and may bring one back if my son is not interested in one of them, The units look like a good alternative to cable TV since I have an antenna on the roof and get really good reception, but only the local channels which is most of what I watch. However I really enjoy the perks of U-Verse so not sure what I will do. The cost of the unit is very good, 50 bucks so no big loss if I never use it. I plan on playing with it next month when things slow down for me.

They need to work on the apps that you can use and the wifi is not that great. But the DVR is awesome and the app for the phone.

This is a great alternative to the cable company DVR they charge you a monthly rental fee plus guide fee. There is an up front cost to the TiVo unit to purchase it, but in the long run it is less expensive even with the monthly guide fee. It seems to work better than the DVR from the cable company. That one had some issues and I had replaced it because the one before had issues also.

My Vista PC running Windows Media Center rolled craps and I decided I wanted to get something a little less DIY. This has a guide, suggestions, an Android app and additional apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. You have to pay a monthly fee, but I can record more than one show at once. I recorded two college football games and watched them both.
My only dissatisfaction is that the interface could be a little easier to navigate. I'm a tech savvy person and the interface takes a little getting used to.

I bought and HD antenna and the Roamio OTA, then said good bye to Uverse. One of the reason I like the Roamio over any other streaming device is that it integrates live TV with the streaming apps. The only thing either I haven't figured out or could use improvement is, a better way to find where you left off. When I go back to one of My Shows, the shows are always in their original order, so I have to scroll through to where I left off.

I purchased a 2 tuner Tivo Premiere about 2 years ago in order to hook it up to an antenna and cut the cord to cable. I liked it, but I felt that the tuners were a little weak and I ran into some recording conflicts with only 2 tuners available. I picked up the Tivo Roamio for around $50 and have been impressed. The 4 tuners have eliminated any recording conflicts and the tuners seem to be much stronger. Pair this with a Mohu Leaf Ultimate or similar antenna and you won't be disappointed. I only gave it 4 stars simply because of the $15 monthly guide subscription that you have to pay. Tivo should look at reducing the guide fee to around $5.00 a month and then I would give it 5 stars. Even with the guide fee, it still beats paying over $100 a month for cable! Also, If you have never looked at the uncompressed HD picture that you get with an over-the-air antenna, the image quality will blow you away. SO much better than the compressed HD image that you get with cable.

I have had this product for a couple of months and am very happy with it. I cancelled by satellite service and switched to a digital antenna. This product allows me to have the guide to see what programs are coming up and to use one pass to record my favorite shows so that I can watch them when it is convenient for me.

Been reading about cord cutters for a couple of years. With cable and satellite bills so high along with paying for streaming services, it was a no brainer to give up cable. Record all the shows we normally watch on the Tivo as most were OTA shows.
