My son used his birthday money to purchase this game. He enjoys the Halo series and Mindcraft, but this game is collecting dust.

This game is great for people who enjoy challenging solo campaign, fun co-op missions or intense MP.
Sam is back in the story campaign fighting the terrorist again, not Aliens, super soldiers or monsters from the unknown. This is what we love about Splinter Cell and it's staying true to it. The story will take you around the globe tracking down terrorists. Sam is easier to control and execute different moves. With 3 different styles to complete a mission, we get plenty of replay value. The autosave checkpoints are thoughtfully placed so the game is just challenging enough for the difficulty you choose.
The co-op missions are all connected to the campaign. You can play it during or after the campaign, and they'll still fit perfectly to the main story. Plenty of people playing the co-op. Most are trying to complete the missions in ghost or panther style. I doubt this will change. At least not for another year or so.
SvM is back. It has the classic mode where it's about being sneaky and using the shadow. Blacklist mode, like classic mode except the environment is brighter and both sides can take each other out just as easily. TDM mode for people who just want to see their K/D go up.
Another great stealth game from Ubisoft.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist both rewards players for focusing on one infiltration style while also encouraging experimenting with others. This kind of play-as-you-like approach isn’t new, but it’s hard to think of another game that means it with such certainty as Blacklist. If sneaking is your speed, you can rest easy – Sam Fisher is back, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist is among the very best stealth titles you’ll play this generation. Splinter cell Blacklist delivers what appears to be a generic story, but surprises us with an unforgettable gameplay that we haven't seen since Chaos Theory, released for the xbox, pc, and ps2.
We can recognize some familiar faces and some well used gameplay mechanics while the game surprises us with a vivid beginning, that makes fans feel identified and welcomed to another entry in the series. The gameplay and characters start setting flashbacks of past games like Conviction and the well so acclaimed, Chaos Theory, while presenting to us the new mechanics that lie ahead on this new entry to the series.
But eventually the false illusion that the game manages to create in my mind, just isn't enough in order to carry on with the awful voice acting. I have to say that i couldn't avoid feeling a little defensive and even regresive, to the fact that the beloved Michael Ironside was replaced by the infamous Eric Johnson, but even then i had a little hope that this would be recreated by the fact that Sam Fisher was just in another completely different state of affairs than the ones he is in this game, but sadly the fact that Eric Johnson had the role as the raging, old, Sam Fisher, only manages to ruin everything that comes out of the mouth of our protagonist, Sam Fisher, by making each sound, sound just forced and out of place.
Shocking, killing, and marking and executing, are going to be the majority of game mechanics that you're going to be using while playing the game.
Panther, Ghost and Assault style each dynamically change while you're playing the game, if you don't get detected and you don't kill anyone in an entire level section that will build up your Ghost style, if you do decide to kill in a stealthy manner that would obviously progressively increase your Panther style, and if you get noticed, well i think you know that you're going to be switching to the Assault style.
This could work if it wasn't for the assault style being a complete waste of time and production in general, the style shouldn't even be present for a wide variety of reasons, you never get to use it because if you get spotted you're dead immediately, in any difficulty, and the entire game is built around being an stealth game, it just doesn't work and it should never have been there in the first place.

A Must Buy for Action/Shooter fans

Ubisoft has really delivered for all the action fans out there. From the story to the way your gameplay choice rewards you, there's always something pulling you back into the shoes of Sam Fisher.
The Splinter Cell series has been updated while still paying true homage to it's roots in stealth. You can Strike from the shadows in Lethal fashion (Panther), Stalk through the shadows and infiltrate without anyone knowing (Ghost), or Bash the door down and leave every bad guy in the shadows (Assault). No matter your choice, you earn in-game currency through executing the mission your way to buy gear and further customize your load out.
The story is great, with a nice secret operative vibe that pulls you in and feels more like a movie at times than a game due the to motion capture Ubisoft used while making the game. The Graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is smooth and responsive, the AI is varried and challenging and the voice acting is top notch even without Ironside voicing Sam. Co-op and Embassy side missions add a lot of replay-ability whether with a friend or solo. The sound design is stunning, with an ambient score which brings to life the atmosphere of the environments/levels you'll visit. It even changes when the actions ramps up and is a nice thrilling addition to the games overall design. This AAA game delivers hours of enjoyment and is well worth the 60 bucks!
If you're a fan who enjoys co-op, engrossing gameplay, and an action experience, you need to check this game out.

To me, this game is a mix between the Assassin's Creed and Batman Arkham series, where stealth is truly important. However, Blacklist gives you the choice in how you tackle each and every mission. You will have some frustration for sure as with any stealth game, but if you like satisfying ninja kills or going rambo, overall it will be an enjoyable experience. Great graphics, solid story, and fun co-op make this a don't miss.

Splinter Cell Double Agent and conviction weren't so great, but Fisher has made a comeback in Blacklist. Spies Vs. Mercs is back, the compaign features some classic missions and co-op is enjoyable and rewarding. All of these modes are strung together by allowing you to earn cash for upgrades and make the game very repayable. Visuals are solid (the PC version is extra nice with DX11 features) and Xbox players should know that there is a 3gb texture install. Textures can look muddy on the Xbox at times in spite of this. Fans of Spies Vs. Mercs will want to stick with classic mode to enjoy perfectly balanced classes since blacklist now allows spies to carry guns. Check out the full video review of a more thorough look at Blacklist!

Best Splinter Cell game to date

The older SC games required players to play stealthy, and was more of a "learn from your mistakes and try again" type of game. Blacklist changes all that, and now encourages players to try each stage in different ways, sneaky, or assault. Getting discovered doesn't mean instant death anymore. This allows for replayability and less frustration.
Now the game is under $20, it's a great deal.

Definitely best Splinter Cell to date!!! Campaign mode is nice with the added 4th Echelon Mission for Co-op or Lone Wolf game play if you want to deviate from the story mode as a change of pace. Customizing load outs for missions are easy and you have many options to cater to your style of play.
