Massive has done a really great job making this game. You get such a different feel from this game that you don't really see in a lot of other games. Graphics are beautiful. The map design are exquisite. The story mode (so far as of 4/8/16 is really good, IMO) The game mechanics are pretty neat yet takes a little getting used to. These type of games aren't games you rush to hit max level then quit. These type of games are intended to be a grind fest. Yes that means spending hours upon hours grinding for the best gear possible. Yes you can try your luck with crafting, but you will still have to grind the materials and currencies out. The pvp aspect of this game is set in the Dark Zone and always leave you wondering what's going to happen when you cross path with another agent. Massive has shown to be capable so far with some interesting patches. They have shown that they are listening to the player base with fixes, new gear, new loot drop probability, introducing some new content and mechanics to the game. If you're wondering if this game is for you. First ask your self how much did you like Destiny? Or Borderlands? This game is really polished and compare to Bungie; Massive seems to have their head screw on well. Definitely one of my main games so far this year.

If you've played any other Tom Clancey game there's nothing surprising here. You shoot, duck behind cover, shoot, move to new cover, rinse and repeat. Story is interesting, cosmetic customization is weak, and outside of the Dark Zone and safe houses you cannot interact with people not in a group with you. It's a fun game, but nothing new or innovative.

well i bought this for my brother and the only thing that differs from the gold edition is a few outfits and what ever the developers decide to release. as of now it has not been anything exciting. graphics are decent and gameplay is different then all the other shooters. i would compare this to destiny just without the space boots and futuristic weapons. it does take some strategy to get through missions and against other players.

Interesting game play. Free to roam about and take on side missions, or stick to the main storyline. Option of online gameplay a plus.

It's a fun and enjoyable game if you have friends to team up with... But if you are a solo player, this will not be your game........

Very fun game to play on your own and with a group of people. I can't wait to keep playing and see what they have in store for the DLC. Right now it definitely has its hooks in me.

I have never been into online multiplayer games. Every time I tried my team members would always get frustrated with me because I sucked. In the Division you choose if you want to play solo or you can team up with others. It's a massive open world that you'll have a blast exploring. I highly recommend this game if you are into shooters. I'm a real person not a professional reviewer and I approve of this game

This review is being written 8 months after originally playing
I was pretty excited for this new IP from Ubisoft. It promised co-op play and an interesting take on PVP. It turned out to be a mess full of cheaters, sloppy game code, and a producer who wanted to 'punish' players instead of promptly addressing errors they left in the game.
When it worked, the game was marvelous with interesting things to do and objectives to meet but it quickly turned into a repetitive grind for every borough in the game.
I've recently only partially returned to this and the most recent patch seems to have fixed a good portion of the issues, but it's taken forever for additional content to be pushed out as a result. I'd suggest catching this one on sale and maybe even waiting to get the game with all the expansion content since you'll now be stepping into an old game, held back by the absence of new expansion material.

Wow, if you could mix Destiny and Call of Duty then you would have the Division! It is in third person (view behind your character not though your characters field of vision) but if you've played Uncharted or Assassin's Creed you'll get used to it fine. Game is hard to solo but the matchmaking with other Agents works very well, or just grab a few friends off you friends list. Very fun as co-op. And oh man the Dark Zone!

I like the game a lot. the controls are ok and I wish it could be alittle better with the controls. guns were pretty cool and upgrades were good when at a certain level. the modes with friends is where the game shines but needs some improvements. it will get better before it gets worse. destiny has improved and so will the division.

The game is fun while you play with other people and the difficulty of the AI is challenging, the only problem is that most of the side missions are repetitive. Don't get me wrong the game is fun and I have played hours and hours. If you have three buddies who have the game then you are going to enjoy roaming around New York city.

This is a third person cover based shooter. The game requires you to be online to play as your characters are on Ubisoft servers. Fun game which is best played with friends.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the division. The combat is solid, story is very interesting, and the gameplay is fun and works well. However, after beating the small number of missions that there is at your disposal and achieving level 30, there is very little left for you to do in the game except repeat the same missions on slightly harder difficulty or explore the dark zone and grind for loot. I have no problem with a game making you grind,l as long as there's an ends to it. After level 30 you're just playing the game to get a better weapon or gear. Once you get the best gear available there's nothing left to grind for and nothing to achieve. While this wouldn't be a problem for a game that takes a long time to reach this point, the division is too short in that you reach that point fairly quickly. Was it fun? Absolutely. Worth 60 dollars? Maybe not, but worth a rental at the very least.

Very much similar to the early months of Destiny, but it's lacking any real end-game content (at least Destiny had Vault of Glass). Once you hit 30, the game becomes a complete grind--that wouldn't be too bad, except it's extremely difficult to get your first piece of high-end loot.
The Dark Zone has given me trust issues. Extremely repetitive. I log in to do my dailies then log off.

Game shines when played as a team online with friends. Decent but not great if you're going solo. Excellent graphics and interesting story. End game content is a little scarce at this point but lots of potential for the future. All in all a good title but don't bother if you're not going to play with other people.
