Glad you like the device in general. The VIA 1515M is a great basic model, with Lifetime maps. If you wish yo have more features, such as Live Traffic, take a look at our new GO models.
They are a bit pricier, but come with loads more features that may benefit you when on the road, as well as having a larger internal memory.

Great Price

They are easy to program which is a good thing because their support sucks (and finding answers to questions on line or via the manuals is equally frustrating). You better be able to figure it out yourself. As an example; when you choose your voice option only one of them will give you directions out loud. The other 2 don't. I had to keep switching voices to figure that out. THEY ARE NOT CLEAR ABOUT THIS. Why have the other voice if they don't say directions out loud? Never figured that out and was tired of wasting my time. The actual product is excellent though and I would buy one again. Better than Garmin

Posted .Hey Lynn, thanks for the review, and I'm sorry to read that you've had such a frustrating time with some of the settings and support. There are two types of voices - prerecorded and computer generated voices. Only the computer generated voices read out all street names - there just isn't the time for a voice actor to record all of the tens of thousands of street names! I've given feedback onto our developers - we should make this information more visible on the voice selection screen.

Posted .Hi Kenpc, If you continue to have issues with late instructions try a Soft Reset of the device. This clears out the cache memory and often helps to increase operating speed. Turn your TomTom on, let it boot up fully then hold the On/Off button down until you hear a drumroll sound from the device (It will shut down and reboot before the drumroll). Let go as soon as the drumroll starts. The TomTom will boot up again and should run more rapidly after that.
