Designed for in-vehicle use

Also, it's not particularly useful when out of a vehicle. For instance, the arm that attaches to the dash or window is permanent. If one uses it for directions when walking, it's sort of bulky to carry. I solved the issue by cutting off the bracket.

Posted .Hi Oldguy, thanks for the feedback. The suction cup mount is actually fully removable. Using a ball and socket joint arrangement with a small notch cut into the ball. If you line that notch up with the high side of the socket you can pop the ball out. We built it this way in case of damage to the suction cup and to allow the mount to be swapped to an Air Vent attachment if required. Patrick @ TomTom

Indeed, this device does not make use of our Live Traffic service. For this, you will need to buy one of the newer GO Models (520/620). As a workaround on your VIA 1515, you can purchase an RDS-TMC receiver for localized Traffic reports every 15 minutes or so.
