I started by using my phone, but would frequently lose service. Gps more reliable. The TomTom was an entry level type with mostly the basics. Searching by name of an attraction was poor. However, it did do the job of an entry level GPS quite well.

It's nice to see you making the most of the TomTom. Just so you know, when searching for an attraction it's best to use the 'Point Of Interest' option in the 'Navigate To...' menu. That should get you moving a bit quicker!

good solid gps- AFTER setup

Problem solved by connecting to computer so dont panic but you MUST set up to use properly.

First TomTom

Besides one inaccurate location for Panera Bread, which could have been my error; I have had no problems getting the correct directions from this device. The language is clear and understandable, volume is fine, and the display is a perfect size. I like that the device is not bulky at all. It is very easy to operate, as well as, much more accurate than my phone's navigation. However, I made a mistake and purchased a device that does not have the ability to report real time traffic, which would be nice to have when you are always in heavy traffic.
