      Hi there happycat. I'm really sorry to hear your device kept switching back to the menu screen. This really isn't how we expect ti to perform, especially when your on a busy highway. It sounds like there is a bit of a software problem.
      However, don't despair, there's a few things I can suggest. Have you tried installing any software updates at all?
      If you have but it still hasn't improved, try a factory reset: Menu > Settings > System > Reset

    I am not a fan of the Tom Tom...too confusing. Brought it back with no problem and bought a Garmin....now that is a great GPS!

    The unit died within three days. Took it back and Bestbuy exchanged the unit no problem!

    Very Very Basic Machine

    This GPS unit does the very basics. It will get you there. But if you want to zoom out on the map or if you want to see details on the map (like what you might do with Google maps), forget it. The visual map functionality is so bad as to be useless. I had a very basic 2009 Garmin that had much better visual mapping capability.

      Hi there, it is possible to zoom in and out fo the map and move around. Simply use the '+' and '-' symbol on the right hand side. also drag your finger across the screen to move around the map. TomTomInc.

    Not sure why, but this product simply stopped working in the first few weeks that I had it. Best Buy was kind enough to swap it out, but it makes me wonder how well these are built. May have been a one-off, but haven't had the new one long enough to say. As far as its functionality, I would say that it's pretty standard.

      Hi Kash92, Really sorry to see that you had that issue with your first unit. Its hard to say why it failed since we can't test any theories on it now, but the initial suspicion would be that the operating software encountered a problem and needed to be reset. Should you ever see anything similar on your current device try this: Connect the TomTom to a power supply and then hold the On/Off button down until you hear a Drumroll sound from the device. This can take 15-45 seconds, you should let go as soon as the drumroll starts. Doing this fully reboots the operating software, and having the unit connected to power rules out any complications from a flat battery. In almost all cases this will return any TomTom to full working order.

    This is my 2nd TomTom. Love the brand. very user friendly features. Easy to navigate screens. I hate that the updates have taken over 8 hours on my broadband wifi to download/install....Tedious!

      Hi there,

      Please update your device - this will ensure it has the latest GPS fix installed, allowing the device to find a GPS signal. This will also ensure you're travelling on the latest map. You can do this in the MyDrive Connect software on your computer, available here:
