    after printing off 98 pages of instructions I could still not operate the unit. a visit to the geek squad did not help and I was told the unit seemed to be messing up and was given the chance to exchange the unit for a new on, I declined..an initial call to tom tom was helpful but did on downloading maps .

    No Traffic Error in Purchase

    This was pwned for about 30 minutes. Went to Best Buy, asked for the model with traffic and was sold the model without it. Never used it, Nav systems without traffic are pretty useless for someone who knows how to get where they are going but doesn't have ESP when it comes to where the traffic issues are.

    Cant seem to get this to work properly and no help

    This was a BAD Purchase I made at Best Buy! By the time I was using my TomTom it was past the Best Buy guarantee. I cant seem to get much help from TomTom. I paid close to $100 for this and feel like I wasted all that money. I have only had it about 3/4 months and only used it 3 times.

    Purchased it because I thought it would catch gps signal in areas where phone signal would not work ,however this was the opposite ! I ended up using my phone all the time for directions because it caught gps and loaded faster . Input and set up instructions were not very user friendly .

      Hi Patty. Thanks for leaving us review, but we’re sorry to hear the GPS wasn’t up to scratch. This really doesn’t sound typical of our products and you were right, GPS works differently to phone signal and we don’t expect it to continually drop. Sometimes if your device has been in storage for a long time it may find it difficult to locate the satellites but, after a quick update normally that should be straightened out. Have you tried updating at all? If you have and it’s still not working, we can always have a look at this with you. Either drop us a call or you can send us an email to: [email protected].     Great GPS but very disappointed because advertised as truck car GPS but it's a car Gps. I bought it because I drive 18 wheelers. Wanted to return and buy truck gps but realized it was day 16 and could not. If I can get credit. Will purchase truck gps.

    Horrible product!! I used it in Mexico & took me to the wrong places and did not route me to some addresses that I entered so it made up an address that was way off. If you are going to use it for out of the country I used my cell phone instead...

    I went with Garmin after the massive Tom Tom failure ,this was by far the worst GPS I have ever used and will say far away from any and all Tom toms due to how crappy this unit is

    It started working properly in the beginning. Then all of a sudden I wasn't being position, it was telling me I was somewhere else. Tried updating but nothing had to return. Hope your experience is better than mine .

Normally an update should help, but otherwise it might need either a full reset or repair, because the device should always be able to find the location.     Excellent maps. Voice instructions very informative so you don't have to looks at GPS screen. Great lane guidance. Updating maps is fairly quick (on my computer the total time for the 3.5gb download and install was less than two hours). This unit has 4gb of internal memory so their is sufficient room for newer maps.

    Even with current download could not locate a highway that had been open for 18 months or longer. It would send me to a road that was miles away when I was only 2 miles from a major highway. Terrible GPS

    Lost signal

    Just used it for the first time on a weekend trip. Kept loosing signal so we had to use cell phone and our data instead. Most of the time was on an interstate with a little driving in a city. Very disappointed.

    hard to understand .It doesn't give right direction many times made mistakes I return it. The good things about it came with nice cover, fast update and long wire to attach to your computer.

    I went to take it back and told me to contact HP on the internet HP wanted to charge me $26.00 to chat with them on the internet. Will not use Best Buy as they were of no help

    This GPS didn't work for me I end up using my cell which I was trying to avoid using. Didn't provide me with the address I was going to. What's the point?

    Dont get me wrong, I've had alot of cars with navigation systems but each is operated differently and to be honest you just have to get used to it. This GPS is great for what its worth to be honest. Battery isnt that good and screen is little slow in response. I always make typing mistakes when i try to type on it... just because it is very slow when reading my typing. Overall, i like it!! Oh the best part is that it comes with mounting accessories! :)

      Hi Jfko, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. However we’re gutted to hear your not able to use the VIA to the best of its ability. You can hardly make use if it is turning off on its own. We have to admit it sounds like there might be hardware fault causing all the drama. When shutting down, does it display a battery symbol or does the screen just go black? As this will help us determine what’s going wrong. Either way, as this sounds like a hardware fault I would advise contacting BestBuy if you are under your 30 days guarantee for a replacment. If you are outside of your 30 days, please contact us here: [email protected]. We would be more than happy to try some troubleshooting or book in a repair if necessary.
