Great Starter GPS

It worked great for that and was easy to use (I am not very tech savvy). It is neat to see it keep right up with you as you drive-it even knows your speed. Wish I had gotten one years ago.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's very easy to use but make sure you really go through all the options it has so that you know how to set up properly for were ever you go as I kind found it a little hard to set my rout that I wanted to take cause every time I stop some were it would automatically reroute and it would confuse me some times on how long it actually should take me but other then that it's fast and a very good quality GPS for anyone to use anywhere I mean life time free maps of the u.s that's awesome

We really advise to keep the device plugged in whilst in the car so that it can perform at its best. However, in the case you can't use the CLA adapter, you can always charge for two hours, then the battery should last approximate two hours (this may vary though).

Great to hear your wife is enjoying the TomTom. You shouldn't need to keep restarting the device - it sounds like it needs updating. This could be causing the issues you are experiencing.
To update your device, install MyDrive Connect to your computer: http://bit.ly/2nV521k
It is also worth noting that just charging the device in the car won't give it enough charge. You need to charge the device at home periodically to make sure it is running its best.

I'm on the road every day so updates are important. This had some improvements, a fully detachable cord and better graphics, but I had problems at first with the unit going into Demo Mode. Then one day it simply wouldn't turn on. Through support, I was able to do a hard reset, and that took care of both problems. I would have given 5 stars except for these issues.

I have had a Tom Tom for about 9 years. This is my third one. Bought a new car in 2014 and did not want a navigation system because Tom Tom is better and not expensive to replace
