better than skate, nice try ea

This is the best in the series so far. Improved graphics, better gameplay, and a great story are what I like most. The new feature that stands out the most are the types of skating abilities that you learn in the story. There are three types, the three being rigger, hardcore, and pro. Rigger is being creative. If you have rigger status, you can press back at any time and go into the rigger menu where you can place qps, ramps, and rails anywhere, and, as soon as you earn it, be able to modify certain things and make them skateable or better to skate. You can also place cameras anywhere and as you go past them you can take a picture which can be viewed in the photo gallery in the pause menu. Hardcore is very old school, being able to do things like carve, slash grind, and kick hard for extra speed. Pro is about being famous, getting in magazines, and taking part in comps. Also as a pro, you learn nail the grab and nail the manual, in addition to nail the trick. Besides the new gameplay there are new features such as the skate lounge. The skate lounge is like create-a-park from the older version, exept there are a lot more pieces and you can play in anybody's skate lounge on xbox live. One of my favorite things, though, is the improved story. Somewhat deep (thats good by the series standards lol), it's actually interesting, ESPECIALLY the skate checking (a hardcore ability that's as fun as it sounds) episode, also a good part of the story is a the competition episode where you meet an old rival from THUG1 and 2 (thats all Im gonna tell you I think I already gave it away for fans as big as me). So if this doesn't convince you to buy it, idk what will.

    Too complicated to be fun

The Tony Hawk Pro Skater series was a lot of fun. Pro Skater 3 was amazing. This game has the same look and vibe. The soundtrack is the best part of the whole game. Controls are way too complicated to have fun with the tricks. Achievement requirements are unrealistic. Not for the casual gamer.

    It's alright but...

As a skateboarder, I want a game that's more realistic than through up 1million point combos. I don't think I'll be seeing anyone in the near future busting a B/S 540 Kickflip Rocket Air Backflip down a 25 set and land in a nose manny and then hit a 15 set from a nose manny and do some gnarly grind down the rail. Way too unrealistic. If you're a fan of the Tony games and love the familiar button layout, then buy it. If you're like me and want a more realistic game that will be more of a challenge due to not having a familiar button layout but have to actually perform the tricks with your joystick, then buy EA Skate.

i have played my fair share of tony hawk games and have loved every one of them except this and downhill jam. the game doesnt flow well, the missions are usually dull and annoying, and the freeplay environment is horrible to skate in. the graphics are good but it is a 360 game so that really doesnt have any merit. just dont buy it

    Not much new

"woa cool dude, tony hawks project 8" "Dude this is tony hawks proving ground" Those were the exact statements that me and my friend exchanged while playing this game. Nothing new was put into this game besides a few modest glitches to the existing gameplay. The graphics are good but it's the xbox 360. They're all good. I bought this game for the sole reason of beating all Tony Hawk video games on the market. Not a good purchase unless, like me, you must beat every game in the series.

this game is the same as all the others...which got old after tony hawk 2. trust me dont even waste your time with this. if you want a great skateboarding game save your money from not buying TH and get EA SKATE! i used to be a die hard TH nut, but not anymore...just trust me, skate is well worth the money...i play it for hours and hours. SKATE is by far the best game ever for skateboarding... YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED!

Great Addition to Tony hawk series

It's really fun and all too go grind around Philladelphia, and Washington DC, and don't get me rong the new Video Editor, Rig-Kit, and new "Skater Classes" Too choose are cool, but you can get boerd in the first 4 hour's of you playing it.. lack of goals, Example: Collecting The letters "Skate" As a goal isin't too fun. The new flip trick moves make this game awesome.. I haven't bought this game yet, but I've played the demo watched videos of it, and read up on it. Try it out and see if you like it, not intented as a "Family Game" If that's what you like. So its pretty fair.

tony hawk has like 49 games over like 8 years so this is not a surprise that it is coming out. The latest in this franchise is proving ground for the nex gen consoles. in this game you make choices about how you skate, a interesting characteristic about this game. cant know how great this will be, just have to wait for it to come out.

"REDUNDANT" is the word that comes to mind. Mindless game... and the only way to successfully score a decent number of points is to grind. I can only grind so many times before I start falling asleep at the controller. I regret spending my money on TH. TH is getting old, and so is this game.
