i was finally forced to give up my 10 year old Windows XP DeskBeast. It was a good machine and I had maxed it out with performance enhancers but I could not get around the fact that Windows XP was dead and any new applications, games or programs would not work in that environment anymore. So I went on a search for a new machine that could meet my needs for content consumption, business applications, light video editing and mid power gaming. The C55 met all my parameters. I chose an AMD Processor (A8) because of the relative superiority of the R5 Graphics co-processor over any of the Intel Graphics modules accompanying a Core 3-5 Intel machine. Graphics are smooth and flicker free. Digital content from UV and Flixster play without a stutter. Apps run eligantly in Win 10 although I would recommend that buying a machine with Win 10 preinstalled will save you a lot of download time. Right out of the box there are lots of updates and software tweaks that need to be downloaded and installed so give yourself some time to run them all before you settle in. Apps and programs run smoothly, CD drive is fast and quiet. Big 15.6 touchscreen is a joy to work with but the touchpad is a bit....touchy. It doesn't matter to me since I always use a wireless mouse but for touchpad fans it needs some tweaking. Overall a solid machine, runs a bit on the hot side but nothing unbearable on your lap. 3 USB and 1 HDMI port for peripherals. Spacious 750g hard drive which I've already filled to 50% but I've got a lot of media to store. Diablo 3 plays smoothly and at a decent frame rate. D3 is about the limit of what the R5 processor can put out however. If you want high density games, look elsewhere. Power, performance and a nice price point. Very happy.

This is the third Toshiba laptop we have purchased for some of our grandchildren that are going to college . It was our granddaughters graduation gift. So far the others that we bought are going great.

I am very pleased with the Laptop as it was a breeze to install the program. I find the computer fast. the adapter is very effective. I did not know it had lead in it, though. wouldn't have bought it if I had known. I do like the computer otherwise. If it were not for the lead I would recommend it to a friend. What is great about the laptop is the GeekSquad which plan I bought to service my computer. I find them exceptional In their knowledge, care, expertise and intelligence where the laptop is concerned. I would recommend them to oversee a computer.

After reviewing different computer brands & stores, I decided on this one. I have been an HP & Dell user for about 20 yrs., & was worried about the brand. This computer is great, plenty of hard drive space & memory. The only problem I can find is the keyboard is touchy & when your typing the curser will jump on the page. I would highly recommend it to someone wanting a PC with the added bonus of a touchscreen.

Bought for my Wife...and she loves it. Nice Screen and vivid color.

Toshiba is an excellent laptop, this is the second Toshiba I have owned and I will stick to this brand.

I bought this laptop for school/work/personal use and it had everything I wanted. Memory and graphics were especially important to me. I was hesitant about having a touch screen on a laptop, but it's actually been very useful. It's bigger than I was expecting, but it fits in my old laptop's bag, so I can't complain. I would definitely recommend this for other students.

Since the first day i started using this PC I have noticed that the Disk usage is often running at 100% with no apps in use. Browsing in chrome is slower than my last Toshiba which was a cheaper model. The free Kaspersky software that came with the purchase had a virus included. After fixing that I uninstalled it. What I have is a new slow laptop.

I did a lot a research and I'm in love with this laptop. Love the touch screen feature. So glad I picked this one

Bought this for my 11-yr old to use for gaming & school. Installed 8 RAM in lieu of the 6 it came with so she could run Minecraft & Office-365 w/o issues. I highly recommend getting GeekSquad protection for all young users, however, as this was our replacement laptop since the 1st one was ruined due to unknown issues This Toshiba is great! Would recommend highly!

we gave this to our daughter as a gift. She is still debating whether she should download windows 10.

No issues, all good so far. I thought it would be a little smaller and my wife wasn't happy but she's getting used to the size now.

great first computer, easy set up, love the touch screen

Functioning well. Optical drive a little noisy but ok with me.Touch screen is very conveninent.Manuel mentioned lead in chemical. Take caution. Generally a good notebook at low cost.

The keys fell off, but only because my dog was on it.

This is the 2nd Toshiba laptop we have purchased and both are performing very well. Battery Life as promised Screen resolution excellent The touch screen is a nice upgrade from last years model

Was upgrading computers in the office and this laptop does everything that I need. It also is cool to use the touchscreen to move about on the screen.

CONS: a little under-powered. plenty of ram but the processor cant multi-task well. PROS: cheap. built in optical drive.

Works well. Great for those on a budget. Touch screen. Upgrade to windows 10...
