my Toshiba external drive was very easy to set up. My computer recognized it right away and ran the proper setup.

I had to get this product to store the information off my computer that was damaged. It did the job I needed.

Easy to use to backup files. Needed to use to transfer files from my fried MacBook to add my files to my new pc.

It was easy to set up and seems to be working OK so far. Time will tell. My other brand quit after 2 years.

After upgrading the USB to 3.0 on my Dell Studio 1747 laptop this drive was blazingly fast!

There's nothing wrong with this external drive except the capacity. For my needs, I need 1+ TB of storage, and if you are looking for something like this for use as a backup drive, you'll probably want the extra space too, if only for a few more bucks. Keep in mind, all the preloaded utilities and software take up some space from the start, so you aren't getting all 500GB, so if it's a close call or you aren't sure, consider the terabyte drive.

I bought an external hard drive from a different (big name) company. It was OK. I bought the Toshiba external hard drive for a different project. I was impressed with how much easier it is to use the software to backup my computer. The backup process is easy and uses clear text and super clear and easy to understand graphics. (With the other brand, I wasn't sure I was doing it the right way.) My next external hard drive is going to be a Toshiba. Very impressed.

This product works very well and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for some extra storage space.

This product was used to capture images off a CT scanner. HDD had plenty of space and functioned properly.

It's a good hard drive for simple storage. My only problem was that it will fall out my computer, if i'm using it for long periods of time.
