My only other experience has been with flash drives. I was very shocked that the hard drive was well under the 500 gigs, in fact it was 474 gigs. I think manufacturers do a deservice to their consumers by making such claims. Was no need to return it because I i figured I end up in a similar boat with another brand.

Just plug it in and your ready to begin transferring any files you choose. It states 500GB but when you plug it up you have around 467 due to setup data that's already applied to the drive, Which was okay with me cause it was only $34.00 dollars...I would buy it again. I love best buy sales.

Great, compact hard drive

I wanted something small, that didn't need a power supply, but could hold more than a flash drive. This has been perfect. I would have no hesitation buying another if I needed it.
