I was looking for a large-capacity thumb drive to transfer a large batch of PDFs from a Mac to a PC. Andrew at BB1002 recommended this instead, and it was a much better choice; 500 gigs for a comparable price to a 128 gig thumb drive. Also looks cool and is very easy to set up.

This drive has been great. Very fast for video files and perfect amount of storage. We use this to take files from one office to another. I bought a case and it travels perfectly.

I bought this external hardrive and was amazed and the ease and functionality of the drive. I was able to back up my files with ease and the hardrive itself is easy to store and move around if you travel a lot. Transfer speeds are relatively fast as well.

Went in to get my computer tuned before the start of my next semesterand the geek squad techs backed everything up on to this and set it up so it would automatically back up when I plugged it in to my computer.. It works perfect. It's small and light. It fits in my pocket.

For the price I believe this is a great product Its really light and thin for portability. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because I could not format it with Windows on my Dell it kept failing. So I hooked it up to my Mac and its been working fine.

Used for my laptop back-up and picture storage, this little drive does everything I would expect. I dumped the installed Mac software and Toshiba supplied back-up software, so I've got more than enough space. And, catching it on sale, it is a great bargain!

A good and basic and reliable back up for transferring files between computer set ups with more capacity than if you were using a jump drive set up. Comes preloaded with cloud computing software, but easy enough to use the click and drag transfer.

I love this portable hard drive! It's the perfect size and holds up to 500 GB. It recognizes new files to store as soon as it's plugged in. It's good for a beginner, also. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good portable hard drive.

I got this when I brought my old computer in to transfer data to my new computer. It is easy to use, holds all the data I need with space left over. Connects seamlessly and doesn't give me any error messages or codes.

I never used to pay attention to whether or not an external drive was approved for use with a Mac or not, I knew how to open Disk Utility and format it correctly. Then I bought a drive that wouldn't format for a Mac no matter how I tried. I needed a small bus-powered USB drive to store an iTunes library on an iMac. This listed Mac on the box, but older versions. Looking it up I couldn't find any indication that it worked with anything after Snow Leopard. Bought it anyway because BB had no problem taking the other drive back and exchanging it the last time I had a problem. Got this home and after formatting it worked just fine on both Mavericks and Yosemite. Beautiful, minimalist enclosure. Very easy to hide, not an eyesore if seen. Feels durable.

I always procrastinated getting a external backup hard drive. With all of today's digital content this is a must have. Works great. And has a sleek design. Easy enough to throw in a backpack for on the go storage.

My tower was easy to set up and turn on. The speed it operates with is much better and smoother than my old tower. It doesn't make any noise, except the slight whirr I expect when I have inserted a disc. I do find it a little difficult to load a disc, but doable.

This is the second Toshiba Canvio Slim II external hard drive that I have purchased. I liked the first one so much that I bought another one. I really like the size, speed of the drive, and build quality.

More than doubled my storage space and was super easy to use. Can also hook up straight to my Smart tv and view what is stored from there.
