perfect for my go the go needs, small, light and fast with the right usb port , lol, i small gripe. the case is a bit too soft. i got a dent in it the first time i carried it in my backpack,but it still runs perfectly

The Toshiba - Canvio Slim II 500GB is the perfect size to copy and transfer a large amount of data, for a great price. I purchased two of these drives. The first was to copy eight years worth of work, images, art work, files, photos, etc., (about 100 GB) that I'd done for my church -- to give them a copy of everything they might need. I bought the second drive to back all of this work up...and off of my main computer. The devices install themselves quickly and easily. Data transfer was quick, and the drive is nice and small and easy to port.

Do not plug this drive into a non-powered hub as it will now have enough power to properly run the drive. I bought this for my parents when their PC died and transferred their HD data to this little drive. It is really fast if you have USB 3.0 and they now use it for backup on their new laptop.

The Toshiba external hard drive was installed on my Lenovo Ideacenter in conjunction with repairs being done by the Geek Squad. At that time, I had no back up for my music, photos etc. The Geek squad suggested that this might be a wise investment . So very glad that we made this purchase.

I bought this because it was on sale. When I did a search for a Mac external Hard Drive, the Toshiba was one of the options, but it seems better suited for use with a PC vs a Mac! If you select the Mac option, it erases all the pre loaded software, and getting to the 15 mgs of advertised Cloud storage should be easier to access.

I purchased this external hard drive to save all my pictures and get them off my computers. It was easy to set up and extremely easy to move all my pictures to it.

Doesn't take up much space, but holds a lot of data.

This item saved my lifw. My computer crashed and when it did i was able to take it to the geek squad where they transferred my data & pics to this winderful and small harddrive. Its perfect to travel with keep in your purse or do like i did, put a small pieve of velcro on it and sttach it to my laptop. Its perfect.

i recently bought this for my photography class and it was everything i could ask for it stores my photos nice and neat and has a lot of space for the price.

there were some devices 20-40 cheaper but I trust the brand and it does exactly what is supposed to. I opened the box plugged it in and osx automatically asked if to setuo and backup device and done not even two minutes to setup and has working fine ever since.

I think this is a really good product for a quick data backup / storage capacity solution. I've been needing to get an external hard drive for a while for the additional storage and to back up some files I have stored locally on my PC. This was easy to set up and get my necessary files copied over. It's small and easy to transport, which is great for traveling with it. Good piece of equipment, I haven't had any issues with it so far after having it for about 1 month.

- IT'S TOUGH ENOUGH TO BE CARRIED AROUND IN MY BACK POCKET (unlike most "smart" phones). The anodized aluminum case is REALLY solid and capable of taking a real beating. - This is the second Toshiba - Canvio Slim II 500GB External USB Drive I've purchased. My first one is the silver brushed aluminum case version. I purchased it as an external backup drive for my huge collection of music videos, music files from CDs and my huge collection of photos. - I'm using this black one as my "backup ONLY" drive for my Windows 7 computer. I HAVE NEVER FELT SAFER about having ONLY ONE BACKUP than when I started using this particular Toshiba - Canvio Slim II 500GB External USB Drive!!!

This is small and very easily portable. Runs off USB power so now power cord to carry, or lose. Was simple to set up, there are readme files already on the device. I suggest actually reading them. Also, FYI, I set it up to work with Windows. No experience using this with a Mac. Works well so far.

Bought to transfer graphics and pictures off of a computer I was getting rid of. I checked to make sure all had transferred. Very happy with this purchase. No more storing on the computer.

Works great , has plenty of storage space with 3.0 usb it is very fast use with audio pragrams and it's been working flawless . Good buy at good price

Sleek, getting smaller in size from drives made a few years back (currently have an older model Seagate). Like that body is made out of metal and not plastic. USB cord is a little thicker that Seagate model which looks more durable.

The Toshiba Canvio Slim II 500GB External USB Portable Hard Drive was easy to set up and is easy to use. It is reassuring to have a regular backup with out having to think about it.

I bought this hard drive to back up a lot of data on my old PC so I could transfer to my new PC and then will use it as a backup device for my new computer. It has been really easy to use like just plug it in to usb and use it.
