Bought this to replace our old combo player which would play only DVDs on our new TV. Even though our new TV and this VHS/DVD player are both Toshiba brands there is not a compatible hookup to allow us to watch VHS tapes. Works fine with our older TV so if you have a newer TV, you might just as well buy a DVD only player as this machine won't play the tapes.

It was easy to set up, works great and was an excellent value!

My daughter with a disability watches a lot of music videos, movies and stories. She also has a ton of old VHS videos that she watches from time-to-time and this combo meets her needs! Very few buttons to operate and this is good.

Great option if you're looking for a DVD/VCR combo player.

I bought this to replace my similar 5 year old Sony version (no longer made) I had of this and overall I am very pleased with it. All I had to do to install it was unplug my old one and replace it with this one and plug the cables in same places with my old cables. I was literally using it in about 5 minutes after taking it out of the box. I just use this as a player though, so that might make it easier to install than if someone is trying to record with it. I also have a 15+ year old TV without cable, so that might make it simpler than some of the other installation problems other people seemed to having with this. The remote buttons are small and in different locations than my old one, so that's my only small complaint with it. I would definitely buy another one if I needed it though.

I love this unit - it does exactly what is advertised.

the remote has hard to read button descriptions and the up/down/left/right function buttons placement make no sence.

This is a good choice for transferring tapes or DVDs to PC with additional capturing device. Works for me for viewing old family video while capturing to PC.

I purchased this item for my Mom. We always play movies especially for my grandson. But we own alot of vhs tapes but didnt really want to purchase movie of the same movies we had on vhs. This item plays both. It was purfect.

We have a collection of VHS movies and subscribe to Netflix via mail, which is in DVD format. This player was just the right thing for us to be able to watch and enjoy movies. The remote is very user friendly and easy to use. We are enjoying this purchase.

Toshiba was the only brand DVD/VCR combo player that I could find in the store so I didn't have a real choice with a purchase. It turns out that it works really well, so overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

When you play a DVD you have to go to input to change the setting for picture to play on screen. Other then that it has very good picture and sound

Great product, and great to be able to find a VCR in 2014. Also the easiest set up of a vcr ever no cable cord required just the three red white and yellow cords!

good for the price. toshiba products are great so you wont be disappointed

Good choice for the uncool who still watch VHS, but the pause button on the remote is in a funny place
