This piece is a great solution for those with older media collections, irreplacable video tapes you want to be able to access, and televisions that require analog connections, without HDMI. It was a breeze to set up, and I even got the date and time programmed in and displaying on the front panel- no flashing 12:00!! Picture and sound quality have been great, and performance has been flawless thus far. Nice piece.

This Toshiba - DVD Player/VCR has allowed my family access to VCRs from many years ago containing so many memories!

This machine is great for recording & dubbing analog video onto DVD. Pros: clear picture when using HQ or SP mode. Easy to hook up. 1080p analog upgrade. HDMI out. Hooks up to cable/ Satellite with A/V input. Cons: No digital tuner, clip menus disappear after finalizing disc to a strip info title. No menu background picture. no grand or extravagant features, but good for basic use. Haven't figured out how to stop during record when in timer rec. mode. Stripped down due to U.S. anti-copying restrictions. only a few others available in United States. We need to upgrade to Blu-Ray recorders like other nations. Go Hollywood !

I was able to get it set up by myself, which is a great thing considering I am electronically challenged.

This DVD player is a mid range product and performs very well for the price.

Little disappointed at the motion blur, particularly with movies. Bought a second remote for the UN48JS8500. Had to call Samsung to find out their system does not allow two remotes to be active. You can only "pair" one remote or the other. Very disappointing! Information poor on how to activate my backup antenna. Had to call Samsung again.

For my 94 year old father-in-law it is an easy product to use.

My old vcr finally died and could not find a new vcr player anywhere. The Toshiba filled the bill. Very nice unit. Although it does not burn vcr tapes to dvds, it does record to vcr tapes from other sources. I can now play all my old vcr tapes to my second tv and record to my old blank vcr tapes. If your like me and have hundreds of old tapes and enjoy the old movies and shows, buy this unit.

Easy to install and use. Only one kind in the store, not a very big selection. Needed the vhs player have many vhs' for our five grandchildren.

Easy set up to watch my DVDs as well as my VHS movies.

it"s working fine thus far. However, this is my second exact same unit. The first one lasted about a year. It would quit in the middle of playing a DVD. It's worthwhile buying for the reasonable price.
