for the price this unit is a great buy. Very easy to connect and the remote is easy to use. We have a number of older VHS tapes and wanted to combination of DVD/VHS in order to see them. This filled our needs at a good price and easy to use.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, basic unit, this is for you.

I had 2 older VHS units to use to transfer VHS tapes to my computer. They since have both developed malfunctions - one eating the tapes.. This unit provided more than I needed/wanted but no stand-alone VHS player exists any longer on Best Buy website. Who knows the way things are going, I may need the DVD portion of this player before long. At any rate the unit set up easily and is working well.

The editing is Great, but I've had trouble after Finalizing DVDs in that they do not transfer the text that i have inserted in individual Titles to other DVDs when played! (Even in other Toshiba units!). I am still trying to see that if I use Playlists rather than the Original Titles that this works in translation. I do like the fact that you can Un-Finalize a DVD! am still trying! Still Love the Unit!!! John

Out of the box and in use in under five minutes. A good product for those with VCR tapes still.

It's great being able to watch again some old video tapes that I recorded over 40 years ago - what a joy! Another plus is the fact that the unit is connected directly to my TV and not connected to my receiver! This makes my life much simpler.

This machine works good. Glad I purchased the machine.

Enabled our daughter to watch all her old VHS movies and newer purchases.

We wanted to be able to watch our old VHS videos as well as current DVDs but we did not want to hook up two separate units to our new TV. Having separate DVD & VHS players meant more space, more wires to hide, and more frustration trying to install! We did not know if they even still made these dual units anymore but Best Buy was our first stop and we were very excited to find it there!

i bought this player since my TV is just about to die, and didn't want to spend all that money on a fancy player since I'd like a nicer TV. So for the price it's wonderful and it plays the movies great. I also have some VHS movies that I can't bear to part with, so it plays those too. Setting up was a bugga boo. The directions were not the clearest but my nephew was able to help me :).

It is hard to find both a DVD and VHS player, so I am thrilled to have it.
