This laptop is not inherently bad, but so many features are frustrating! Windows 8 made it SLOW and cumbersome, eating up a lot of memory while idle so I decided to buy more RAM.To my surprise there was only ONE slot and the CPU was glued to the motherboard meaning there are virtually no hopes for upgrades. Only after a 8G RAM and the "upgrade-downgrade" to Windows 7did the laptop show acceptable speed. This is a poor man's laptop, but not for a college student.

I purchsed this laptop for my son as a graduation present, he will be starting high shcool and will need a laptop for english class. He was thrilled with the product, it was very eeasy to set up and very user friendly. Nice product for a beginer and the money

We bought this laptop for our son as he was starting Tech College. He likes it. It seems to be serving him well. He does research and types papers. We think it is a gret laptop for the money we paid.

Windows 8.1 isn't exactly plug and play.Put classic shell on it for my neice. Words of advice when you get somebody a PC with a soon to be upgraded version of windows; You grab it from them and do it!

I am very surprised to like this even though inexpensively made, it works well after a month. Very pleased-paid $199 for it and it works better than my old laptop that I paid $450 for. No complaints here and I'd buy this again. FAR surpassed expectations!

This is a very decent computer. We bought it for our high school student & it has been trouble free for the month we've had it. It is not for gamers... not really fast, but is great for the basics.

no problems with it, was easy to get to know to use it. still finding things about it..the owners manual was bad, could not find even simple things

This is a Christmas present for my niece. For the price this was an awesome deal. Hence why I purchased this five months in advance and hopefully will be a laptop the performs well for her.

I order this computer because it was a good price and because I using it to run 3d printing programs, no email, Facebook or anything other uses Windows 8 which what came on my unit has to be one of the worst programs to use sketchup on and the mouse on my labtop stops working from time to time and I bring out a extra usb mouse until it starts working again I guess ok for social media but I wouldn't buy one if your future depended on it

I bought 5 of these for my nursing staff to use. For the price, and given that technology is constantly changing, it was a sound investment. I have nurses from technophobes to technogeeks. It's a simple and non-threatening device that, so far, has handled the rough treatment a nursing station dishes out. Most of our apps are web based, so this purchase was more of a large screen netbook with a full sized keyboard and 4gb RAM. If you have a good wired or wireless access point (WAP), this PC will not disappoint. Consider it a step above entry level, a good choice for students, light office work, and basic graphics. Definitley not a gamer's PC...

I have had a Toshiba netbook for several years and it has worked well. I wanted another Toshiba I could use as a testbed for special purpose s/w. I needed 3 USB ports and this laptop fit that requirement. The laptop works well and has a good adjustment range of screen brightness. The only real problem I have with it is that it is heavy and has no contour (unlike my Toshiba netbook) that makes it easy to hold onto when I lift it out of the laptop case. I fear I may lose my grip on it and drop it. Slight indentations on the bottom or a rougher surface finish might have helped with this. This is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Bought this for my daughter entering her Master's Program. Very capable, fast and easy to navigate the mouse and other functions. My daughter's boyfriend did purchase the extended warranty, just in case, but we've had Toshibas before and this one is just as good and easy to use. She works on it for hours on a single battery charge. Good laptop for an exceptional price.

I bought this to test Windows 10 and it does fine. It is not for gamers, but is a good test PC.

I like how it is easy to use, my kids and Mother are able to operate it. I like that it is thin and light weight. I would like a better camera on it but still a good product.

Great laptop for a beginner. Bought this for my 57 year old brother and he loves it. He doesn't have typing experience or much work with computers so he finds Windows 8.1 very accessible and easy to use. The app format lets him see everything in picture form which makes it quicker to find the excel spreadsheets I set up for his tax papers, expenses, income, etc. He also likes to peruse the alpha list of options for learning about other programs that are available for immediate access, check out games, and to build his experience. The 4GB ram is a bit slow for me, but he doesn't have any complaints. He isn't into gaming; interested in keeping his records, paying bills, searching the web--basic needs for daily upkeep of info and searching for answers. Nice little option for him.
