    Great Laptop!

I was looking for a gaming laptop to replace the previous one i had. This one caught my attention because of the amd fx processor it has. I was looking for something that was able to handle my games smoothly. It didn't disappoint because it was able to handle Skyrim, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist and Call of Duty Advance Warfare without any lag. The speakers are good but they could be a little louder. My only issue with it is that even though you can use it as a tablet the keyboard gets in the way which makes it a little bulky and the screen is way too big for a tablet but that's just me. Overall, it's a great laptop!

I purchased this back at the first of January. I have no idea what folks were speaking of on this laptop being slow. In the winter time my temps have also kept between 80 and 85 mostly. Having it on my lap too long has had me go up to about 96 before, but with a proper laptop pad or somesuch I am pretty sure that shouldn't happen. I usually almost always use this on a table though. The touchscreen doesn't require hard touching, but if using in laptop mode, I would suggest placing the back of the screen against something since there is a little teeny tiny 'flex' when touching. The screen is wonderful and displays colors grandly. The only thing I DID have an issue with is that around just 15 days after I bought it, the hard drive went bad I've had no power issues though. I still kept this laptop anyway even after the hard drive fail. It recieved some good reviews and all, and I had spent 3 hours the day I purchased it just roaming information on laptops I had seen in store and just trying to find the one that would be the best for me. I haven't done much gaming on it, but it's certainly so wonderful rising up from the rubbles of my finally dead Dell D820 from 2006, so I don't really have much room to complain. It has done pretty decent with what's known as 'Second Life' and providing very pleasable scenery. The lightup keyboard is also fantastic. Really helpful at night if you don't want to turn on the lights. The tablet mode is also great, but I've barely used it so far. I had planned to use that for drawing. Using just a basic rubber-tipped stylus did really well with precise touch locations and following along. Considering I am on month 3 now, I'll go ahead and say I would recommend this laptop for basic users or folks for atleast some mid-quality gaming. I'd say more on that part, but I just don't own any recent games really.

Questionable Replacement for Windows 7 laptop

I am less than thrilled by this laptop, the Toshiba Satellite E 46 DW- C. It's glitzy with so many bells and whistles that it seemed like it would be fun learning Windows 10 while having some features similar to Windows 7. I have had this computer one month and still find it difficult to navigate my way around. Font size changes on me randomly. The Touch Pad is super sensitive making it difficult to type, (luckily there is a function button on the top row which turns the Touch pad on and off). Also I find it incredibly Slow, much slower than my Sony Vaio laptop that this is replacing. Part of the problem may just be the fact that this is Windows 10, and not necessarily this particular laptop. On a positive note I do like the Lighted Keyboard and the Touch Screen, as well as it's ability to be used in at least 5 different modes - as a laptop, a tablet, presentation mode, audience mode , tabletop.

This laptop has had a young dog pee on it, been dropped multiple times, recieved an ssd, managed it's whole 16gb of ram, and been incredibly great with running everything I've needed to do in games and regular day to day productivity. It's always continued to work against the unexpected odds (such as the dog doing his business while I slept, which was severely uncommon). Anyway, this laptop is older now, some of the rubber around the edging has come up, and there's one usb port that charges, but that won't recognize any drives (I lost it after the dog incident). That's about it. It's been a great laptop, and still in use today.

I needed a portable laptop to take with me and after reviewing Asus and Toshiba I purchased the Toshiba. I needed lots of storage and rams. For the price, this model met my needs.

At first I perched an HP laptop with an Intel i5 and 4 GBs of RAM but that proved to not be able to handle what I needed and I took a second look at this system. This laptop is very powerful, has a great display, long battery life, 4K video and 7.1 surround output, back-lit keyboard, and a very responsive touchscreen! The initial setup and updates might frustrate you at first but I implore you to remain patient as after this is complete, you will be extremely happy with how efficient and fast this system is! I went in the store expecting the web price of $559 and was ecstatic when it was tagged/range up at $439! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a light desktop replacement laptop that also happens to be a 2 in 1!

Great Laptop, Only 1 Major Issue

I did a lot of research before purchasing my first laptop and I'm relatively happy with this one. It's the perfect size, great for school, and casual gaming. I have only had one major issue, which it seems a lot of people have had. After about 1 week of owning it, I unfortunately experienced the black screen of death at startup. On the day that I had a major paper due for school. Needless to say, I was extremely upset. I did some research to solve this problem as quickly as possible without having to bring it back to the store. I was able to unscrew the bottom of the laptop to get to the battery, unplug it for 30 seconds, and plug it back in. I was then able to restore the laptop without losing any of my files, and all was fixed. It's been running like a gem since.

I love everything about this laptop. The size is perfect (14 inch screen). I have used a larger screen size, but I much prefer this size now. It is fast (AMD processor) much faster than the i5 that I used before. It is also much thinner and lighter than the previous one I used. I like the backlit keyboard, I can work at night in the dark. In short, great laptop

So far I don't have any real complaints! You get what you pay for, and this is a fantastic mid of the line laptop! For those that say the internet is abit ify, make sure you have latest software updates from both Microsoft and the manufacturer!

Overall a good machine. I use mostly for internet and CAD work. I have not had any problems. Touch screen is nice but I don't think I would use as 'tablet'. I would not really use any 2 in 1 as tablet.

I like the laptop and the conversion ability to change it to a tablet, etc... My issue with this computer and why it's not a 5 star rating is the commercial software that Best Buy places on these machines via their agreements with Windows and others. I would love to buy a computer and have it be free of junk! This isn't that hard. I paid good money for this and don't need extra games, apps or advertising on it. Save me some headaches please! Next time I may go Apple at the Apple Store and skip the big box agreement nightmares...

I've actually already given a detailed review, adding this one to get bestbuy points! See my other review for details. Briefly, this is a well made laptop with great features but a disappointing screen (very narrow viewing angle) and several driver problems. Thankfully these seem to have been resolved with the Windows 10 build 1511 update released in early November 2015. If you have trouble with the laptop losing the USB 3 ports after sleep/hibernate, try disabling power management in device manager for the USB 3.0 driver, that worked for me (so far). I have had none of the wifi problems listed in other reviews. Before the Win10 update it was a little unreliable, since then it's been fine.

In comparison with other manufacturers with similar specs at this price, either 14" or 15.6", this one accommodates my personal ergonomic preferences relative to the keyboard: 1) no numpad on the right, which offsets the user's alignment/view, 2) backlighting is white, not colored, and 3) font has no angle and no serifs. Aside from these preferences, I had a Toshiba 14" prior to this one, which performed well for 6 years (amazing!), compared to other brands with which I experienced problems.
