i loved the original total recall: i have it on vhs, dvd, dvd in the mars collectors tin, and now this. and i have to say, i really enjoyed watching this. there are some things i think the original did better, and some things that i think this did better. overall, CF is no arnold, but this is enjoyable none the less.

Even though it is a remake of the earlier Total Recall movie, there are enough new elements to make it its own movie. The plot is similar to the original, but the location and threats are different. Good action and enough new elements so you can't always predict what's going to happen next.

great remake, seems to be better than the original. loads of action with a lot of fantasy and drama to boot. this purchase included 2 disc blu-ray plus a dvd, a great deal for the price. it was also an extended director's cut with footage not shown at the theater and an alternate ending.

Bought this on sale at a great price! I love both the original and this new reboot equally and separately. The story is the same, but they were filmed so differently that it gives an entirely different feel. This new version of Total Recall was shot with excellent special effects, casting, background design and too much detail to fully appreciate with only one viewing. This particular set comes with 2 Blu-ray discs, a DVD, Ultraviolet access and a emovie ticket for up to $7.50 at a local theater. Great addition to anyone's collection. Highly recommend.

Even though the story line has changed. This film stands on its own. What do you want with today's tech. Filming just outdoes itself. I think that the film is actually better, due to the fact that they changed the story line from the original. It leaves less room for comparison. Watch it, leave your own opinion.

If you love Action and SF with a revisionist twist, then this is your film. I especially enjoyed the few scenes included as an homage to the original film (and the twists). I am not sure that I totally buy the premise of travelling through the earth's core, but that's just Hollywood poetic license.

This is a modern remake of the original Arnold Schwartzenager's Total Recall. This time the characters work in a plant that they have to travel from England to I think New Zealand via going through the earth with a large transport. Special effects are quite good and overall story line is very good.

For someone who grew up watching the original I dont hate this movie. Is is better than the original no way how can you beat arnold on mars with his eyes bulging out or removing tracking devices from your nose. Do yourself a favor watch the original first. This movie has action and amazing graphics.

If you're familiar with the original and weren't expecting much from this remake, you may be in for a surprise. This was actually a lot better than I thought it would be, yes basic story line is the same with some homages to the original but I think this one bumped it up a notch with more intense action, modern special effects and one heck of a soundtrack. A great delight for your home theater to take advantage of your system. I know some people don't like remakes and still may not like this one but if you do, give it a shot, I did and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Fans of the original "Total Recall" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger may find this remake starring Colin Farrell inferior. But this edition includes both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film. A must of Colin Ferrall fans and collector's only.

I really enjoyed this movie, but it is obviously hard to remake a classic and make it better. if you liked the original, then you need to see this movie. you may not like it better, but you cannot deny all the production and special effects. I need to watch it again to see it all.

While this is not the classic the original is, it's still a fun movie, particularly to see Bryan Cranston in a villainous role. The biggest problem is that none of the characters are fleshed out very well. The included extended cut is, in my opinion, the superior one.

This is a solid remake of a classic action movie. The writers kept enough of the original story and characters to justify the title, while adding new material and changes to keep it fresh and interesting. The effects are first rate.

A great way to reboot an idea / franchise without ruining the original. This story takes place in the same world and scenario as the original but it's set on Earth instead of Mars. It's a similar but different story, with tributes to the original movie.

This one is a bit tough for me to review. Overall, its a good action movie, taken apart from the original. That being said, if you weren't comparing it to the original, it would probably be better, it just missed some of the magic of the times.

Better than the original. Great action, fun references to 1st version, great story. Like most recent action adventure movies, could be improved by editing down to a few less minutes.

This movie is a re-make of the classic. Not the best. However, it was quite enjoyable, it has a fresh look to it and the BR transfer is decent enough that I've added it to my collection since the price was right.

The original Total Recall was so out there in terms of believability (sic) and the special effects are so bad that it turned into a cult classic. Colin Farrell's Total Recall takes itself too seriously. It starts off okay, but towards the end it just falls apart in a harried attempt to finish the movie Bryan Cranston, who played a terrific, hateful guy in Breaking Bad, is just unconvincing as the bad guy in this movie. The real star is Kate Beckinsale, who played her part well and seemed to enjoy being in the movie. Overall, if you must watch Total Recall, watch the horrible in a good way Schwarzenegger version first, then watch this one for laughs.

I think that "Total Recall" was one of the greatest sci-fi films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite sci-fi films of all-time. Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale's roles in this film were both amazing and I also think that "Total Recall" was a creative and original film with a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including a really great and amazing cast and personal/political storylines as well.

Good film when you're in the mood for action. Good actors, particularly the female leads, but they are not allowed to reach their potential, as the action gets in the way too many times. Overall watchable enough to own and watch again.
