Multiplayer is really fun once you learn how the system works. Gameplay is engaging and chaotic fun. The bullet patterns are loyal to the original series which fans will greatly appreciate. There is a VS mode where you can play with another person, against a computer or online, which is extremely fun. The gameplay only has one problem, especially for the fans of the original series; the hitboxes aren't clear and are hard to understand in this game. However, the game is balanced enough (it may even be a little too easy for veterans). This *may* only pose problems in competitive matches (there is a rank system). The game visually looks nice with the exception of the backgrounds during the fights -- they are bland. For most part, the game runs at a gorgeous 60 fps, with slight dips during extremely chaotic events (spellcards). Its soundtrack features the themes of the select characters, and they sound nice for the most part (Utsuho's theme could have been much better, where was the melody? D:). Overall, this is a great entry for new comers and long-time fans alike. It carries the spirit of the original series quite well; from gameplay, music and the story. For newcomers, the story is just silly throughout and is not meant to be taken series like the originals.

If you enjoy simple concept but hard to master title, this is a good one for you. This game basically pits you in 1 vs 1 matches where you try to defeat them by blasting away at them with all sorts of flurries of bullets. If you like games with a lot going on at once and enjoy the 1 vs 1 intense battles, this is good for you. If you have a hard time with really fast moving games that require fast reflexes, this may not be for you. Also, this game has tons of flashing colors (bullets) going across the screen almost all the time, this can become a bit much visually as well, so take caution and breaks while playing this game if you have any kind of sensitivity to this.

Enjoy the packaging and extras. Game itself is challenging and fun.

My cousin has been waiting for this game for a while and he was so happy to be able to play another shoot em up game that adds more mechanics to create a better game-play.

If you love shmups then buy this game. Gameplay is fun.

It really isn't the same as the other Touhou games. In this, you just duel an NPC (or player, couch or internet). Think fighting game, but with lots of bullets.
