I purchased this game to play split screen with my brother when he visits. We both enjoyed the "Toy Solders" digital games (original & Cold War) on the Xbox 360 and I was looking for something similar on Xbox One. This release changes the formula somewhat, by switching attacker/defender roles between each 4 waves. You can still utilize your "hero" and any turrents, and build at any time, but only the attacker may spawn the waves of soldiers. These waves are pre-selected at the beginning of the turn. I enjoyed the constant action of the old games, however, the turn-based method provides a few benefits: 1) The game is more approachable for new players, 2) It allows for better strategy development, 3) You can enjoy utilizing the hero/turrents a little easier. Additionally, this release has a large number of unlockables for each army which should increase replayability. It has options for coop/versus modes and lengthy (if a bit repetitive) campaigns. A few things that I found lacking were: a buggy UI interface, not a wide selection of useable vehicles in versus mode (such as the options available in the "Cold War" release), some balance issues with the armies (particularly with the GI Joe lasers). The game does require the disk to play and you are given a code for the add-on armies (GI Joe, Cobra, He-man, Assassins). I probably would have preferred the digital only copy. Though overall, a great game to enjoy with a buddy.

Toy Soldiers shines in cooperative play, while it struggles a bit in single player. With two people the 3rd person tower defense style game plays almost like a puzzle, if you get things figured out, you can wreck the opposition, if the pieces don't fit you can have all kinds of problems. Stick to two players, and try and grab the game on sale and it is well worth the time.

Tower defense and strategy types of games are among my most favorite and this iteration of Toy Soldiers is definitely not a let down from that perspective. The inclusion of the three extra childhood favorite classes and the Assassin's Creed army (on a downloadable card, not on the disk) made buying this game an extra treat. Loved the concept and enjoy the game quite a bit more than that. Recommended, especially around the price I ended up paying for it (19.99 on a sale).

I loved the first 2 Toy Soldiers games. This was a day 1 purchase. I just love the toy setting and the thrill of destroying the opposing forces that dare attack your toy chest. I also love the tower defense genre in general. Plus being able to play as GI JOE and HE-MAN in this game is so cool. If you like tower defense games, you should definetly get this, not just cause of the cheap price tag but mainly cause it's wicked awesome.

I am not a game player - I did when I was a teenager (into my mid-20s or so) but it's not my "thing" now. HOWEVER, I have a teenage son that loves games. When he purchased his Xbox One last year, we started looking for games for it. Unfortunately the majority are rated M. I saw this one at a different store and pointed it out - he rolled is eyes at it. Then we saw it again later at Best Buy - and decided to give it a try. And he loves it! (Ha! Sometimes Mom does know... ;) ) The characters are some of the ones that I grew up with (He-Man, GI Joe, Small Solidiers, etc). He's shared the game with some of his friends - and they all seem to enjoy it.

If you enjoyed the earlier games in the Toy Soldiers series, you will definitely like this one. More of the same, but with upgraded visuals and a wide variety of classic toy sets. GI Joe, Cobra, He-Man, etc. alot of variety and are a blast to play. I highly recommend this game to all.

I've played the original Toy Soldiers and Toy Soldiers Cold War and what made them great carried over to Hall of Fame. The reason for the 4 star rating was the 8 different factions made for a little repetition + the G.I.Joe, Cobra, He-Man, Assassin's Creed levels are just a single wave survival mode and could have been made part of the main story.

My kids really like this game. You can't go wrong with tower/castle defence and this game has that in spades. My only complaint is that to get the toy licences that you have to pay extra. It should be included. It's more of an advertisement at that point and it shouldn't really cost extra. This game is fun, but I think it would be more attractive with a lower price point and more variety.

Decided to pick it up since it had GI Joe & Masters Of The Universe. It was worth it. The graphics and game play make it feel being a kid playing with your toys. To see all the characters move around is very kool. Hopefully they can eventually build more toy lines into this game. I would definitely recommend it.

It's fitting that a game built around nostalgia includes a quality implementation of split screen co-op, something not seen as often in today's online gaming focused environment. I had a blast going through the campaign with He-Man. It brought me right back to being 6 again.

This game is a great value for the price you pay and the content you get. I really enjoy strategy and tower defense games and this game is very fun. It's nice that you get to choose from 8 different factions to play as, which helps give the game a bit more replay. If you like building defenses, managing resources (gold to buy turrets, upgrade turrets, or repair turrets), and defending your base, then this is the game for you.

As someone who grew up with the toys in this game, I really enjoyed it from a nostalgia point of view. There are some glitches with the game, but it is a fun game of you have fond memories of Gi Joe, Cobra, or HeMan.

This game has always fun. Its especially more fun now with the 80's toys since I gre up playing with them as a kid.

Puchased this game because ive had this hame on xbox 360 it is a blast to play plus the extra toys from my child hood where on here only thing missing since gijoe cobra comander heman are on here is tenage mutant ninja turtles and transformers then this would definitely be the ultimate game :)

This game was da bomb. After completing the tutorial for this game, I learned that this game is not as it seems. But if you buy the game then you will be happy because Morgan Freeman comes out at the last level if you don't take any damage to your toy box. *DISCLAIMER* Morgan Freeman does not come out. I lied.... I'm sorry.

I love all the factions one can play. And the additions to the game. The only thing I don't like is how easy the game is and you can't choose a difficulty.

This toy soldiers game is the best so far in the franchise. There are a few slow downs when there is a lot going on, but otherwise it is really enjoyable.

I personally have not played a lot of missions but the kids are definitely enjoying the game!! I purchased on sale, well worth it.

This is one of the best games I have played so far. It has all the old toys from when I was a kid. Game play is good, it's kinda like a tower defense game and then you can switch to 3rd person to control your hero or a turret

Toy Soldiers is a great game I've always been a big fan and this game made me an even bigger fan. Despite its rare glitches, the game is really amazing! If you're a fan of strategy games and shooters, you'll love this game!
