I own 3 of these devices, one for my wallet, one for my keys, and one for my husband's wallet. As a mother of 2, both under 4 years old, my wallet and keys often disappear. In the morning, when I need to get Kid 1 to preschool, I look for phone, wallet or keys, whichever one I find first, I can use to Track down the rest. These TrackR devices are small circles, the size of a large coin, and maybe slightly thicker. They have replaceable battery, and a battery lasts around 6 months. There are different colors, and if you buy from the website, you can get a small message engraved on them. They can get scratched and dinged up looking, especially if kept around keys. I've had all 3 devices for more than 6 months, and the only time they died was when the batteries finished, though. There's a button on each device that when pressed makes your phone ring. So if you found your keys but are looking for your phone, that's how you Track it down. To find your paired devices, you open the TrackR app on your phone, and tap the device you're trying to find. It makes a high pitched annoying sound which is fairly easy to find indoors. Outdoors, with traffic noises, I doubt it would be audible. It also tells you whether you're getting closer to your device or farther away. If you are out of range of your device, it can tell you the last place your phone saw the device, as a point on a map. It can help you call up your friends and ask them whether they can look for your wallet at their house. There's a geo fence feature, where, if your device goes out of range of your phone, both device and phone start beeping, if you have a habit of leaving your keys behind at the checkout, for example. You can designate safe areas where this won't happen, like when your device is connected to home wifi. I initially bought TrackR for this feature, but soon got annoyed with it. Our house was big enough that my phone often disconnected from my devices, and keeping my phone connected to Wifi was a battery drain. Apparently, and I've never used this feature, if you mark a device as lost, anybody with TrackR app on their phone, passing near your lost item, will send a notification to your phone that your device was last seen at x time at x place. Other cool uses include putting TrackRs on checked in luggage, so you know when it comes in range, or on pets, or even kids. My first TrackR, I bought after loosing my wallet. It fell out of my pocket in a friends car and wasn't found for several months. I needed to replace wallet, driving license, bank cards, insurance cards, etc, which was a BIG hassle. If I had had TrackR, I would have found it. This is not just for the old and forgetful among us. Initially the app used to be buggy, and crash a lot, but it has gotten a lot better in the past several months. This honest review is in exchange for a free TrackR device, which I plan to gift to a friend. While this review is completely honest, I feel sure that TrackR asked me to review as I'm a repeat customer with positive reviews on other sites.

I was inspired to get these after my partner's keys fell out of his coat pocket while he was raking snow off our pool cover. He then unknowingly ran over the keys with the snowblower. Luckily, I found the keys a few days later, when we had a mild day and most of the snow melted. I got the multi-color, 4-pack on sale via Best Buy online. I watched several videos on these devices and comparison videos with the Tile. I was mainly sold on TrackR Bravo because you can change the battery, unlike Tile. But, the TrackR alarm isn't very loud. I put one in my wallet and can barely hear it. The other is on my set of keys. My partner did the same thing. Pairing the devices to our phones was pretty simple and only took a couple minutes. Pressing the button on the TrackR immediately made our Samsung Galaxy S5's ring with the default ringer shown in YouTube videos for TrackR. I also like the Crowd GPS feature, which ANONYMOUSLY, tracks your items via other TrackR app users who pass near your lost item. They aren't notified of your item being near them but, their TrackR app will unknowingly send you an update of your item's location! Pretty good feature for when your lost item is out of range.

    Great Idea, but Doesn't Work

First off, the TrackR devices work off of crowd sourcing GPS. This means that the trackers communicate with your phone through an app, and then it uses your phone's GPS to "locate" the TrackR. The problem with this is that if no one else has the app installed on their phone, then it will not communicate with a GPS system to give a location of the tracked item. So, if you put one of these on your bicycle and someone steals it, then you are relying on someone near the bicycle to have the app on their phone in order to help you find your bicycle. It would be much more useful if it had a direct GPS connection. Second, the range is awful. I put this on my dog's collar in case she got lost and I needed to locate her. We were in the backyard, and I was 10 feet away from her. It could could not find the TrackR tag. Sorry, but this product is a dud.

I ordered this product from the actual website it was 29.00 plus 7 for shipping. The product works good if you are trying to find an item you've lost inside, or directly outside your home or facility like a yard or parking lot. I don't want this to be a book so I'll just say the crowd gps system this device uses to track your lost item is HORRIBLE. For you to have to wait until somebody walks or drives by your tracker device who also has the Trackr app on their phone (because that's the way it works when not in your vicinity) is a waste of time. I put this device in my car and for 2 days it said my cars last location was at my residence but it wasn't for those 2 days. It was everywhere but my residence. 29.00 for one device isn't worth it in my opinion, even if you were getting it to just track in your immediate vicinity. This product should be sold at 14.99. To be totally honest I would rather pay for a tracking subscription so I can get real time and updates when I want to. Depending on what you're trying to track...kids..car...spouse it would be worth it. You definitely don't need 4 of these at 80.00. Unless you really feel it's limited use is conducive to how yoy need it to perform.

I purchased 3/ four packs. Kept one and gifted 2... Right out of the box 1 didn't work and 2 had dead batteries. I requested the battery replacements from TrackR the day after receiving the item which was 12/3 ish. I still haven't received the replacement batteries. I went and purchased my own replacement batteries and had 3 working TrackR Bravo's out of 4. I emailed support on 12/3. Since then, I have had no response at all from the company and 2 more tags stopped working. I now spent 63 dollars on 4 tags of which only 1 is working and who knows for how long. I'm not sure I even trust them since I purchased them to put on all my pet's collars. Not only all of this (as if this wasn't enough), they advertise having it on a pet's collar but these tags do not hold up. The tags on my dog's collars are dented, scratched and beat up pretty badly all in only 3 weeks time. I do not recommend this product at all. It's not reliable and their customer service is the PITTS!

While at Best Buy for a different reason, passed by the display for the various trackers, including the TrackR. Decided to get a four pack, paid full price. After getting to the car, I opened the package, read the instructions, downloaded the App and paired all four fobs. Got home and took the four and placed them in different locations in the house (1700 sq ft)., one in a bedroom with the door closed. Three of them could not be located, the one in the bedroom with the closed door being one(suspected it might not be able to be "seen" due to the walls, etc.). Brought them to my computer desk and tried locating them when they were six inches from my cell phone. Two didn't work. Ended up removing the batteries and checking the voltage for the two. Put the batteries back in and they were now able to be located. Placed one in the back yard, approximately 25 feet from me in the house. I'm looking through a window at the TrackR on a pedestal 25 ft away and can't locate it. There are a neat gimmick that gets peoples' attention but my experience is they are not worth the price paid.

Prior to purchase I "tested" out one before buying this, I love the ability to change out the battery, a lot of reviews mentioned battery went dead within a month...well mine did too, I presume since it is technically installed prior to purchase it is constantly being drained seeing as there is no tab to stop the current from reaching the device prior to purchase, but that is just my opinion. Replaced battery, no low battery warning since, I'm glad it even tells me when the battery is low, I've read a lot of reviews about bad connection, using an iPhone 6, no issues finding it through 4 walls and a floor. The distance option is iffy, I love the feature but I'm not going to say it's the best to find my keys, I love the alarm button, never had an issue ringing it from the 2nd floor. Overall, my 2c, user usage is possibly not the same as mine but I've never had a bad experience with the trackr, if on the wall about one, if you're really leaning towards one like I was, I say test one first, besides a few minutes to make a return and depending on distance, gas money, it doesn't really hurt, but that is just my opinion.

I bought this with the hope that it would solve my issue of lost items, but it is essentially now just dead weight attached to said item. I liked that they could be used to find my phone and that they had a user replaceable battery, but those really don't matter when they stop working and the app provides no notification that they haven't been seen in a month and a half! I imagine these for use with items that you commonly have with you: keys, wallet, briefcase, etc., so there should be some indication even if I don't want to be notified every time they are out of range. Also, even when they worked, the range on these was not very good, the volume was too low, and they required almost constant disconnecting and reconnecting. I don't know if I am still within my return window or have the box, but if I am and I do, these are being returned immediately.

I've gotten up to 6 TrackRs now, started with a 3 pack for Mothers Day for finding my wife's lost keys AND lost iPhone. They have worked great, are not intrusive on our keyrings and look pretty cool too. The app is easy to use and easily configured with a simple pair operation with the push of the button on the device - SIMPLE! Name the TrackR's as you add them and you are good to go! They are introducing a new product too called Atlas they are devices that you plug around your home so you can track (per room area) exactly where your items (or even pets!) are. Their support people are great, I had reason to email them and their response was quick and very professional. I'd recommend these if you are always losing things OR if you want to set up a separation alarm between you and your devices, keys, pets or children!

    Trackr App is not intuitive

I found the iPhone App somewhat unresponsive and confusing to use. For example, it was several minutes before the app would respond the first time I opened it. Then buttons didn't seem to work until I had maneuvered over the screens a bit. The main screen is not intuitive. It is divided into three overlapping parts: A summary of four items, a display with a map for where the the device is located (or the iPhone), and a summary of devices. The selection of the overlapping parts is a stack fo three lines to go between the first and second part and three vertical dots to go between the second and third parts. Why not double arrows? The second TrackR I installed worked OK, but it would not respond after it left the house and returned. Bluetooth settings don't recognize it inches away. Also, the iPhone settings give tkr as the name of all TrackR devices installed. Back to the workbench to get this straightened out, hopefully in a day or two,

I bought the TrackRs because the non-replaceable batteries in my Tiles were getting near the end of their lives and that meant they all had to be replaced, at considerable expense. I wasn't thrilled with the idea that I would have to constantly be purchasing new Tiles, so I thought the replaceable batteries in the TrackRs would be a better option. Unfortunately, the TrackRs are very disappointing. The range is terrible (sometimes about 5 feet - not enough to be useful for finding anything), there's no indication in the app when the batteries are getting low, and the sound they emit is barely audible. As far as I'm concerned, this makes them essentially worthless. On the other hand, the Tiles just worked really well. So now I'm stuck with the choice of staying with the TrackRs that barely work or spending more money every year on Tiles. Or looking for another option.

Does not work with older Android than 4.4 so most Samsung S4 phones are prohibited. It wasn't very "slim"; I put it into my wallet; it would have become a distraction like putting a plastic car key in there. It would work on a key ring IF my phone was compatible. In fairness, there aren't a whole lot of choices for older phones and many tracking devices aren't very user friendly, most being bulky or not flexible (ceramic cards). Makes me wonder how come locator manufacturers haven't heard of "chip reader" credit cards and how come they can't put THAT type of technology into a credit card sized locator. I would recommend this to someone who has the right phone AND looses keys a lot or wants to put it into a tool bag/box (with protection from breakage) but as a locator in general ... read between the lines.

The product mostly works as advertised, however there were some glitches in the process. 1. Trying to use these on different devices with different accounts in the same household is not simple. The Trackrs seem to just connect to whichever device they want to. So pushing the button to make the phone ring ends up as a random selection of which phone rings. 2. The iOS app supports Alexa integration. However, telling Alexa to locate my phone rarely works as it just pops up a message on the phone saying it's ringing it, but the volume is totally dependent on if you have your ringer on and turned up. We usually keep them silent (baby in the house), so when we need this feature, it doesn't really help. 3. The ringer on the Trackr does not seem nearly loud enough, especially if it is in a purse or wallet.

I got a few for my family a little while back which were just silver. I loved them so much that I bought several more with the new colors. The colors are really slick and look great when attached to my keys or kid's backpack. The app has continued to improve each week and I have been really happy overall. The device was able to really show its value just last week when I lost my keys and had to get to work. I was able to open the app and the new hot/cold indicator showed me to directly where the keys were located! Awesome! Pros -Extremely small -Sleek design and love the colors -Easy to use Cons -Buzzer could be slightly louder -Customer support resopnse time is a day

I purchased this product from Best Buy. Since buying it I have had to replace the batteries three times in each of the 4 devices. I wrote to the parent company just to ask if that was typical experience. They asked for my order number and I gave it to them. Their response is below. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT / DO NOT TRUST THEM. They essentially are admitting to the poor quality but saying they are not going to do anything because I didn't buy it from them. The reason being is if you buy from them and they don't replace it becomes a BBB issue for them. Hi Michael, We only provide replacement that are purchased directly from us. Thank you! I for these and one of them had a broken button so I will never work and the rest had dead batteries. I put a fresh battery into one that I use for my cat (who has a breakaway collar) and the very next about a week later the tracker would not connect to any phone it would not even turn on. I bought 3 previously from trakR website And have them in my keys and families keys and they master over 2 months with tho original batteries before I had to change them i have never had a problem with them not connecting. I can even return the ones back to best buy as I can't fine the one that was connected to the collar. Very disappointed with the quality of the product.

Purchased for car key locator. Set up was easy, but misidentified arms length setup test to indicate more than 90 feet away. Tried the alert function (beeper) at distances up to 6 feet and it worked OK. Had family member hide the tracker fob in plain site in house. I walked within 2 feet of it and could not find it. Tried another tracker to make sure it wasn't a battery issue without getting any different result. Returned to Best Buy as it did not work as advertised. Returned home, and tried phone app and it located the tracker (last known position) as the parking lot at Best Buy. Might be OK for the general street location, but not worth it for the can't find the keys in the house problem

TrackR product works well. App is easy to use and works on multiple platforms. Product is easy to install and only takes a minute. I like that the batteries can be changed on each of the units, unlike some of their competition. While I know they do make different styles (Ie: wallet specific sizes, etc.) I like that these units are still small enough that I can attach to just about anything. I keep one on my keys, as well as one in my wallet, and one on my luggage when I'm travelling.

Dealing with Best Buy was great. The product, TrackR Bravo, however, was not ready for prime time, or, frankly, even late night. When I first set it up, it estimated a 3' distance as being 97'. But, initially, it could, in a test, find my phone, and my phone could find my keys. Then, 3 days later, when I really needed to find my keys, my phone couldn't find them (with Bravo attached to them), even, (after I'd located them myself), when it was 3' from them. Re-syncing the Bravo and my phone was impossible, even after following TrackR's lengthy, tedious process. Returned Bravo 4-pack to Best Buy, who were great to deal with.

I have been using TrackR for over a year. I use them on my cats, and in my luggage. They work great as long as either your phone or another TrackR user's phone is within less than 100 feet of the TrackR. I have tracked my luggage in an airport with TrackR and found a lost cat. The only draw backs are the battery life is only about 6 weeks or so. And the alarm on the TrackR is not very loud. It does have a blue flashing LED light that helps locate the TrackR in the dark.
