Some customers reported that the signal did not penetrate walls effectively, while others experienced poor signal even when placing the booster in various locations. Some customers with good outdoor signal found that the signal dropped off once inside.

we have decent reception outside of a metal building but had none inside until we installed this thing. We have two bars outside and three inside now.

I used have 2 or sometimes only 1 Cell power bars when working at the barn and the adjacent paddocks. The zBoost Xtreme brings the reception to 4 and sometimes 5 which is as good as it gets. It gives Spouse and me a sense of security, knowing we can call for help - and take family calls whenever we're in the fields.
Happier Lad.

I was hoping that this would work as we live out in a rural area. I couldn't even attach the external antenna to a pole because one of the screw holes were off center.
We tried it temporarily with one person holding the antenna on the roof while another checks the modem. We tried multiples spots on the roof and we could only get one bar on our cell phones.
I'm driving 60 miles to the nearest Bestbuy just to return it.

Works in one room, that’s it

We are between Akron and Canton Ohio, in a city with a 25K+ population and, apparently, a lot of cell towers are located six miles from us. For some reason, neighbors all around us have great reception on everything. We built 300 feet back from the road on farmland and all carriers’ signals stink. I do not get why it works like that, but it is what it is.
My poor 57 year old hubby went to the store, bought some type of plastic piping, hauled himself up on the second story, etc. We normally got 1 or 2 bars, about 5mbps download speed. Typical house, only 2800 square feet, but was worried the less expensive unit wouldn’t work. Well, we get four bars in the living room, and between 15 and 50 mbps, where the receiver is located (the antenna part is about 25 feet above it, on the outside of course). Move a room over, only one bar. And, we don’t have thick walls, metal involved, etc. A lot of money for something that only works in one room!

I bought this particular one to make sure that I got a good one. It might be good but it does not work through walls very well. I live i a house with a metal roof. We have a good signal outside but once you are inside our signal drops off. I am using it like repeater. It keeps going in to fault mode because my outside signal is too strong. I tried moving the antenna then I don't have a good enough signal. So I spend a lot of time resetting it. I would have been better off going with 2 or 3 of the cheaper ones rather than one good one.
