I am a Dylan fan of sorts, but I think the "standard issues" he has grown fond of lately, are starting to grow a bit stale. I personally yearn for another "original" material Dylan album, but I suppose these covers albums he's releasing nowadays, will simply have to do until he gets around to it. Hopefully he has another "Time Out Of Mind" or "Love & Theft" left in him, as I was a little disappointed in the last few original albums, "Tempest", and "Together Through Life" respectively. But, I would truthfully only recommend this new "Triplicate", three disc package, to the diehard Dylan fans. Like me.

Some Dylan fans have been less than thrilled by his recent albums of American songbook covers, but I am not one of them. I see them as an opportunity for him to recharge his creative battery, much like he did with his two albums of folk covers in the early 1990s. While this album is pretty strong in its own right (and features some good Bob vocalizing), I suspect that when he gets back to working on some original material, we'll be in for a treat. It's 2017, and Bob is going to be 76 next month. I'm thankful that he's still doing what he does.

As a Bob Dylan fan I was bound to purchase this and enjoy it a little. I didn't expect it to be better than I thought it would be though. There's singing on this that makes you forget some of his more recent live shows (if you listen), but in the end this is something for fans and collectors. Will people see this and pick it up thinking it's going to be great? Probably not. But enjoy it for what it is, an artist putting a more unique spin on the American songbook than other classic rock artists of late. Some parts are dang near emotional.

Dylan's "Triplicate" is really 3 separate albums in one tight package, though all are focused on Great American Songbook standards. It's laid-back, entertaining, and occasionally moving. You'll be glad it exists; you'll also hope that "Triplicate" is Dylan's own unique way of exhausting his distraction so he can start writing his own material again.

Bob brings the standards all home again with this triple disc release. The music itself is fantastic. Very organic recording; Bob's vocal intonations on these songs are uniquely his. Perfect imperfection. Great listening early morning or late at night during a thunderstorm or a long day. Highly recommend for open minded fans of Dylan.

Dylan does it again with a release of American songbook standards. This isn't Rod Stewart or Paul McCartney or whoever else in the Rock and Roll as of late covering the old songs our parents and grandparents grew up with. This is Bob Dylan and his band. The key being "and his band", nothing elaborate, just his small four or five piece band taking on the task of what, traditionally, is covered by a full orchestra.
Bob's previous two single-disc albums, Shadows in the Night and Fallen Angels, are the prelude to this three-disc set, Triplicate.

Bob Dylan has spent the last few years mining the Great American Songbook. This is the latest chapter, with three discs filled with standards. Highly recommended for Dylan fans, but casual listeners, unless they are over 60, will probably not be interested.

This is a great triple Album of Bob Dylan covers of a different kind of music that you wouldn't ordinary associate with Bob Dylan. He does this type of music really well and fans would of his music would like it.

If you are a true Dylan enthusiast, then you will want to purchase his latest 3 disc box set entitled "Triplicate." The Noble Prize winning singer/songwriter has put together his largest set of new recordings. It consists of tunes from the great American songbook that were previously recorded by Frank Sinatra It is reasonably priced at Best Buy for a Bob Dylan fan or anyone that enjoys the "old standards."

Good Interpretations

Once again Bob Dylan has released his own interpretations of songs (mostly) done originally by the overrated Mr. Sinatra. And once again Bob outperforms Frank despite having not one tenth of his vocal strength. It's a matter of "listen to this song, be touched by the lyrics," rather than "wow, don't I have a great voice."

Is this for everyone? Nope. For fans of Dylan it might not even be worth picking up. I, however, have enjoyed hearing Dylan go back to really trying to use his voice and interpreting someone else's material. There are some real gems on here. Certainly not "There's a Flaw...," but every now and then there's an interesting and emotional performance that you don't often get with his more recent original work.

I bought this album on a whim and was expecting the usual Bob Dylan style; I was pleasantly surprised to hear a forties/fifties style of music. Loved it. Being a after WWII baby, I listened to lots of forties music as a kid. This album brought back a lot of good memories.

I purchased this new Dylan release because I have been a fan since 1963.
A new Dylan approach, but the pace is very slow. Voice is Dylan, almost has a Willie Nelson overtone.. Sings 40's + songs from Sinatra era , +.
Had to listen for a few songs, then switch to more Dylan style.
I do not regret the purchase.
