Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey make for an excellent team in this surprising amazing and thrilling HBO series. True Detective follows the exploits of two veteran cops and the chilling case that engrosses them. Amazing drama and fine performances from the entire cast. A must watch for those hungry for mature, taunt suspense.

Two detectives in New Orleans are on the trail of a cult-like killer. This creepy, well acted story is something you've never seen before. S*x, drugs, bikers, cults, money, abuse and a whole host of acts that you've never imagined could ever happen, but have!! Great acting, edge on your seat, can't stop watching, but can't look away drama!

This was one of my Black Friday bargains. It is top notch acting and great atmospheric story telling. Those impatient types might call it slow, but it only take's 8 episodes to get to the conclusion so just relax and you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Note that season 2 is a whole new cast so this is all you'll get, bingies!

Woody and Matt did an excellent job in this. McConaughey was in full Lincolin commercial mode the whole season. It was pretty badass. This first season of True Detective was the best television show I seen since the Wire. The second season had a tough act to follow. Digitial Copy was included and price was fair.

Though this is technically a tv season, it is only 8 episodes long. Good writing, good acting and good direction. It is about the detective's long search for a serial killer. I think it was 17 years. Not for the faint of heart. The actors do a good job playing off each other. Definitely recommend

This show is amazing!! From the acting to the story!! If you haven't already watched it, treat yourself! I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it!! It's one of those shows you can watch more that once. And actually haveing the whole season, well it's addictive. We watched it in one whole sitting!! Love love love

What more can I add to the glowing reviews about True Detective? Amazing show. Great writing, acting, cinematography (probably the most underrated aspect of this show). Heck even the intro song is great and sets up the mood perfectly. This is one of those shows I wanted on Blu-Ray so I could enjoy for years to come.

After watching the first season, I was excited about season 2 coming out. I look forward to it and would highly recommend buying this series. Matthew Mcconaughey's performance in this show was amazing. You can't help but get enthralled into the environment when he's on screen. Again I highly recommend this show!

I wish everything I have watched was as spellbinding an as unpredictable as this series. I loved it. I would buy it again if I had to. Awesome ending. It's unforgetable and well written. I love Matthew and Woody. Wish they were in the second season to, but great actors in it also......WOW!!!!!

Picked this up during the Black Friday sale for $10 as a gift for my parents. I had already seen the show and loved it and knew they would too. The story and acting are fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone who even has a little bit of interest in the show. ....it's also way better than season 2.

This HBO series started with a bang. It grabs you from the start and never lets go! The story has many twists that keeps the viewer engaged. The characters are interesting and complex. One never knows what is going to happen in the next episode. You get caught up in the story and don't want it to end.

I was able to acquire this on Black Friday for 10 dollars and it has since gone up to 62 dollars (which I have never seen it that high and is a bit much) but I have wanted it for so long and never wanted to pay so much for it. Now I have it and for a great price. Also loving the show.

Man, was I surprised to view Season 1 of True Detective. I wasn't sure what to expect, but now that I've viewed it I'm on the hunt for Season 11. I'm usually pretty good at predicting endings, but they got me until right before it was unveiled and man, what an ending. I simply must have Season 11.

This has to be one of the better tv series to come out in the past decade. The great story, the great characters, and amazing writing/directing. I really enjoyed this series and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a thriller/mystery that keeps your attention from beginning to end.

If you enjoy watching shows that keep you engaged and entertained, while touching on suspense, then this is the series for you!! No better way to catch up on a series than to be able to purchase the full season in its entirety!! Either alone or with family/friends, you will love this show!!

One of the best TV films ever put out. The acting is top notch, as well as the sound and picture quality. Tremendous surround sound. Great songs. The story is excellent, the writing superb. Very well worth the price for the blu-ray. AND you will be able to rewatch this many times. Unforgettable!

This show was so insanely good when it aired originally. I couldn't get enough of it and went out and bought the Blu-Ray for Christmas. The acting, the setting, the mood it is all amazing. The tracking shot in episode 4 made me want to bring the ruckus, it was butter. Cinematic gold.

If you haven't seen True Detective, you're in for a treat. This show is amazingly well done. This dark drama keeps you glued to your seat. Arguably McConaughey and Harrelsons top performance. Warning: not for children or adolescents, this is a heavy and explicit series.

First, the show is a standout. The way it unfolds was innovative. It jumps in time (not really a new thing but done in an interesting way here) and starts with a slow burn up until the last few episodes. The cinematography is outstanding and that's where the Blu-ray quality really shines.

this is the kind of tv i like, down and dirty....and you have woody harrelson and mathew mcconaghy(?)...what's not to like....and i'm a guy....reminds me of the good old days of tv crime....the untouchables, peter gunn, naked city.....great company to be in...
