I bought these mostly to use at the gym since any head phone with a wire becomes a nuisance when I'm working out. Connecting them to my phone was fairly easy but I didn't like that I needed the app although the app wasn't horrible it just felt unnecessary after using other Bluetooth headphones (Beats by Dre Powerbeats). My current wireless headphones (Sol Amp air) seem to cut out from either me moving or interference from other electronics but if I'm stationary they're fine. This wasn't a problem with the skybuds. The size of these headphones was great. They fit in my ears and stayed put the entire time. The sound on these were lacking. My music sounded weak but not terrible. The volume on high wasn't enough to drown out background noise even in a quiet setting I could almost make out a conversation going on a few feet from me. In the other hand the mic was great for taking calls, however, I didnt get a chance to try this feature outdoors so I can't speak to the background noice cancelling. By far the biggest set back with this headset and ultimately the reason I returned it was the inability to connect it to multiple devices. I have a MacBook, Apple Watch, iPad and of course an iPhone as well. I like to be able to connect the headset to my Apple Watch so I don't have to lug my phone around at the gym. When at home on my MacBook or iPad I'd like to watch Netflix without interrupting my wife while she watches something else. Unfortunately one I connected my phone to these I was unable to connect to another device and switch between them. In the end I couldn't justify paying so much for headphones they didn't do all that I expected them to.

Thanks for your review. Rest assured that Skybuds can connect to your other devices. All you have to do is put your Skybuds in pairing mode by triple pressing the button on the buds. At that point, Skybuds should show up in your list of Bluetooth devices. Click to connect, and you're good to go. skybuds

I would give 5 of 5 however, they do rely on the right side to power the left, which fine, but the battery seems to drain faster than they say on the right side, almost twice as fast. Once updated from the app, they are PLENTY LOUD! I still can turn them all the way up, however it would hurt my ears after a song lol. The bass is ok at best. So.... Pros. 109 dollars, would never pay 219. Sound, after update... Range is great. Cool case, small and never have to worry about a charge while out. Cons... Battery doesn't last but maybe 3hrs, and you have to have the right side in. Over all, for 109, best out there for looks, and functions. (Take calls, pause, fast forward). Great ear buds.

The skybuds experience did not start off well. The reviews I read before purchasing them stated that you would need to download the firmware update to get better sound from them. To do this you must get the app first then add the earbuds to the app. The left earbud was not showing on the app, so I was stuck in limbo. This problem was with my Samsung Galaxy S5. I decided to get the app on my iPad and try again. After some more problems here, the earbuds both were added to the app along with the docking station. I was then able to update the firmware to the latest version After the update the earbuds were added to the app on my phone. The earbuds have good sound and you have three options for outside sounds. You can choose active to hear the outside world, you can choose adaptive and here you adjust a slider to hear more or less of your surroundings. Or you can choose off and you hear according to how they seal in your ears. The app does not cooperate sometimes and it does not recognize the dock and/or the earbuds. They work well with phone calls. I have asked a few times the people I am talking to and they say they hear me fine as I do them. Overall because I purchased them at slightly over $100, I will say they are good. The nice thing is the docking station is also a power block so every time you return them to the dock they recharge fairly quick. I found a small cellphone holster that the dock fits into nicely, so I keep them with me wherever I go. If I am out shopping or walking our dog, I can just pop them in my ears and listen to some music or have a phone conversation all without any wires at all.

Great Sound, Solid Feel, Bad Connectivity

These wireless earbuds are an interesting little product. They feel great, appear to be well-made, and their size and the size of the charging pod they rest in feel just right. The charging pod (called a Skydock) is about the size of a deck of cards, just slightly thicker. You can listen with both buds in or just the Right one (which is how I mostly used it). Both buds are identical, so you can use the Right one in your left ear just fine without discomfort. They list about a 3-hour listening time, and I found that to be right on the money. Also, making calls, I could hear and be heard just fine. The sound quality from these wireless earbuds is also top notch. Well-balanced highs and lows, and accurate to the sound no matter the genre. Unfortunately, you would never be able to tell this while listening with the provided rubber tips. There are three sizes of the rubber tips included: small, medium, and large. I tried all three, and with each size, there is not a substantial amount of isolation. Because of this, the audio sounds very tinny and low volume. I actually stopped using the provided rubber tips and used some Shure foam sleeves typically used with in-ear monitors. The sleeves fit the Skybuds *perfectly* and provided a much-needed sense of isolation. With those sleeves and the resulting isolation, the frequency response was brought to life considerably. If you purchase these and you are looking for great quality audio, I highly recommend getting foam tips/sleeves like the ones Shure makes. Do note, however, that with both buds in with the foam sleeves on, you will not be able to hear much of the outside world. If you want to be able to hear some of your surroundings, you’ll want to use the rubber tips. Downside to that is that sound quality takes quite a dip. Unfortunately, these earbuds feel cheated out of their potential due to the Bluetooth connectivity, which is finicky and confusingly unreliable. There is a smartphone app that you need to download to set up the Skybuds, and from here you can update firmware and monitor battery levels. Updating the Skybuds and the Skydock is relatively simple, although it does take a few tries for it to succeed. Once you update and pair them to your device, you’re good to go. After charing mine up and pairing them, everything seemed to be great. I ride a train into a city each day to work, so I listened to them on my ride in, and my ride out. I would check the battery levels before going to bed, charge the dock if needed, but would leave them in the Skydock all the time. Wake up, ride in, and everything would be fine. Something I noticed, however, is that if I went a day without using them (leaving them in the Skydock), the next time I went to use them the battery would be drained. Not the Skydock battery, but the buds themselves. They would be resting in the Skydock (which had battery left), not charging, and draining battery. Curious, I tried a few things. I thought the foam sleeves I was using was causing the battery connections not to fully make contact, so I removed the sleeves and just put the bud in the dock with no tip at all. Same thing happened again. One day I was on my phone while the buds were ‘charging’ in the dock, when I got a notification that my Skybuds were now paired, ready to play audio. Pretty sure that somehow when the Skybuds reached 100% charged, they would stop charging, disconnect themselves from the Skydock, and try to sync up with my phone. Not sure why this happened, but when I contacted Skybuds support, they told me to exchange the unit at Best Buy. So I did. However, the exact same issue happened with the second pair. In addition to this, if I was walking and had my phone in my pocket while listening, the connection had small hiccups - interruptions that happened randomly. If I was holding my phone in my hand, that didn’t happen. I returned my second pair and have decided to wait until the technology has gotten a little more solid before jumping on board with totally wireless earbuds. So, I’m not sure if every unit has these Bluetooth issues, but with both of the sets I tried, the problem was the exact same. It’s unfortunate that the connectivity is so finicky, as the sound is remarkable and feel is solid.

I like these earbuds with a couple of reservations. The size is good and they are comfortable to wear. The sound is also good. The bass is there without being overpowering. This problems I had were that the earbud cases are too smooth making it hard to remove from the charging case and my ears. The real deal breaker though was that they powered down and disconected 2 of the 4 times I used them to workout. The batteries had plenty of charge left but they just died. I returned them and will try something else.

The only reason for not giving them five stars is the battery life. My experience has been somewhat less battery life than advertised. Very good passive noise suppression. Tricky to learn how to best fit them in your ears but once learned it's a snap. I also own a pair of Apple AirPods and love them but they have no noise suppression and they are far more visible than the SkyBuds. Very happy with my SkyBuds

The headphones are small and fit in the ear well. Th sound coming out of them is very good for there size. But the battery is pretty poor, 2 hours is advertised but pretty lucky to get that. I have also had disconnecting problem when taking them out of the charging case. other then the batter i would recommend though.

Skybuds were great to use when I'm at work, but not as good for working out. Sound was pretty good, but volume level need to be louder. Can't control volume level which it a problem for a headset that cost $250. I returned it after 14 days and pre ordered the Jabra Elite Sport which cost the same with many more features. I'm still using my Jaybird Freedom F5 which I love using during my workouts.

I love the sound quality of the sky buds. I was apprehensive because this style of head phone is pretty new, but I wanted free of all wires. They sound great and nobody has asked if I'm on a headset when talking to them. The only downfall is the short 4 hour battery life, but I'm sure it won't be long before they come out with something better. Just keep the charge case nearby and you'll be good to go.

So I tried these for about a week. The first thing I noticed was after about 15 or 20 minutes, they hurt my ears. I'm about a medium sized ear person and I tried the different ear bud sizes included. They're a little bulky so they kind of big and I think that's why they hurt my ears. I think if you have bigger ears, they'll probably work out. The sound was good, but like other ear buds, when you put them in your ear, it creates a suction and you feel like you're muffled from hearing anything else and you can hear your footsteps or hear yourself talk. It was not good for phone conversations. People said I sound far away. The sound was good for music though. Maybe if the price wasn't so high, these might be worth it. Right now for the price, I wouldn't recommend these. I ended up returning them and am going to wait for the Apple Airpods. On the positive side, though, if you just want these for quick workouts or gym time, they might be good for that. They don't pop out and they do sound good and loud. The app works well to connect to them pretty easily and quickly.

Got the skybuds over Black Friday but had to return them in couple of days. Sound is good but not loud enough...I workout at the gym and could still hear outside noise. Another issue was the fit, no matter what size of fitting I tried they would hurt my ears after a while. Going to try Jabra Elite to see how they are..
