This particular game is a great platformer that can also be challenging as you progress further in the game and also there can be challenging bosses to battle within the game. You play as Kawase as you go and do some deliveries or item searching in various parts of the town. You have to use your trusty fishing equipment to reach new areas and master how to swing to places and also the angle in which you throw your lure. It is a fun game but can be a bit hard to master unless you get the hang of it.

This game is hard but totally worth the learning curve. You control a girl who uses a fishing rod to get around. Think the Legend of Zelda hookshot, but bouncier. It's a platformer that's physics based, you need to let out slack on your fishing rod to bounce and get the momentum to propel yourself higher. Then release to launch yourself higher in the stage. The graphics are the only drawback. The game itself doesn't look like the cover, it's mostly cartoony pixelated environments. This game is hard and challenging so be prepared. Once you get the mechanics down this game will worm it's way into your heart and you will become a fan of the series for life.

Umihara Kawase was a Platformer game released in Japan on the Super Famicom in the 1990's (SNES in America) Im very happy to see that this franchise had bee released in the West for the Switch!

The first game in the series to get a full release over here. It's mission stucture is a bit weird and the story isn't that great so far, but the gameplay still seems solid.

This game has easy to play but tough to master gameplay mechanics. The aquatic enemies are fun to encounter. Learning recepies is a challenging way to keep your health up.

The Umihara Kawase series has been going strong in Japan since the 1990s, but the West has only seen releases of the last 3 games. Umihara Kawase Fresh is the most recent game in the series and a solid addition. While the game doesn't break any new ground, its trademark fish line and hook grappling mechanic is worth checking out for anyone that want something a little different from their platforming game. This game is not easy and can be flat irritating at times, but the payoff is worth it when you finally conquer a level.

Fun Japanese platformers. I loved the 3DS digital only game so I was very excited to see a physical release of this one. It is fun and worth it!

Its nice to get one of these games here in the NA region. Most times they are not released in the USA area. These are fun platformer adventure games.

This is a platform / puzzle game. It features cameos from characters from other SunSoft games. It has the SNES/SFC platform feel to it.
