Customers value the 8X Zoom Clip-On Camera Lens for its zooming capabilities and ease of use. However, they express concerns about the quality of the images, compatibility issues with phone cases, difficulty in aligning the lens with the phone, the clip's hold, and the focus slipping when adjusting.

Nice lens, but it is NOT a zoom lens

This little lens is a great idea. As a long time photographer familiar with zoom lenses in 35mm photography, when I looked at the photos of this lens I was unable to see a zoom adjustment ring that would enable a user to change focal lengths. I talked with a Best Buy employee on the phone prior to purchase and they were not allowed to open the package, but said I could return my purchase if I wasn't satisfied. So I ordered 3 of the lenses, 1 for me, 2 intended for gifts. When the lenses were delivered, I opened one of the packages, and my initial visual observations were confirmed; this lens is definitely NOT a zoom lens. It is a fixed telephoto lens, and does not provide any adjustment to vary the focal lengths, in spite of what it says in the ad. If you were looking for a fixed focal length lens, (probably the 8X magnification), then for the price, this lens would be nice to have. But if you're looking for an 8X zoom lens, this is NOT the lens to buy. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend the purchase of this lens if you're looking for a zoom lens.

Does not fit iPhone 6 with Otter Box

I kept seeing this on a display in the checkout area of my local Best Buy and finally decided to pick one up. I have an iPhone 6 with an Otter Box case and it simply doesn't fit due to the thickness of the case. I took the iPhone out of the case and it worked, just barely. The image was distorted and had noticeable distortion no matter how I readjusted the lens. The only reason I kept it is because it actually makes a decent little telescope if you hold it up to your eye, and I happened to be in the market for a cheap pair of low-power binoculars so I do have an alternate use for this item. I'm going to drill out the lens cap, reverse it and glue it to the piece as an eye cup.
