This is pretty cool - you can change the light color in whites or colors or have it blink to music. The only issue I had was I wanted to share the app with my husband and it was very difficult. In fact, we quit trying. So know that whoever has the app has the power.

I like the idea of having lighting like this. Able to dim without re-wiring your house is cool. As well as all the colors that are available. BUT!! After one day the blue color went out (witch effects a lot of other colors) and was not working correctly. The app was easy to use and install. Maybe I just got a bad bulb?? But there was no more in stock at 3 of my local stores so I had to return. Hope no one else has this problem. Think I'll try a different brand.

I was looking for an easy alternative for using smart technology and thought that it would be entertaining to add some color as well. Well, using the different colors was entertaining, but a light bulb should first of all distribute white light well. This bulb was not very bright. Combined with its disappointing bluetooth connectivity made for an unfortunate purchase. The bulb was returned.

The concept is great. A smart bulb that plugs straight into a light socket and is controlled by your phone? Sign me up! The problem is that the app that controls the bulb is absolutely terrible. The interface is clunky and non-intuitive, you have to make an account with them just to register a bulb, and there is NO error checking on the firmware update process. This means that the firmware update will freeze or fail WITHOUT any notification to you, meaning that you will brick a few of these before finally succeeding in an update. When it works, it's great. It has trouble staying connected to the bulb when switching out and in to the app for example. It's missing some basic features (home screen widget for on/off, Android Wear / Apple Watch anyone??). The play-to-music feature is TERRIBLE and is a definite NO-NO for anyone with epilepsy. The bulb runs unreasonably hot, about the same temperature as a regular incandescent bulb, but theoretically uses a lot less wattage (a claim I don't have the equipment to check). Overall, the hardware works great and is really cool, but the app needs a LOT of work. If you're tight on money and just want one or two bulbs, go for it. But for a much better solution, I'd suggest Hue or that other bulb that's Wi-FI enabled rather than Bluetooth.

I like being able to change colors with the bulb and set a schedule. When I tried to alter the schedule, I couldn't and had to uninstall and reinstall the app to update it.

Simple setup and easy to use. I was looking at another brand of smart lights but didn't like that you'd need a wireless hub and all that stuff just to use them (plus the cost of those..) These bulbs from ilumi are a lot more affordable and simple. The color range is amazing. I like that you can set it to come on automatically when you walk in the room. There are a lot of cool features in the app.

Hello there, I just love the light but app kinda sucks!!!! Enginneers you guys need to work on the app!!!

The features from the ilumi app are nice, but the app needs a lot of tuning. The colors could be more vibrant. It needs to be Apple compatible also.

These lights are really neat but peple who do not know I have them keep flipping the switch and that causes scheduled events not to work unless I notice.

I have 10 of these and waiting to purchase the new outdoor version in a few days. I use to have the Phillips Hues but I returned all of them after looking at the colors and how difficult it was to set the timer. The Ilumi bulbs are so vibrant and the app is very easy to navigate. There are video tutorials in the app and email support is easy.

My son loves this! Thousands of color options and great for party music effects. App is easy to use and manage your color settings.

I'm torn because it's a really good light bulb but the app is a mess. I use this thing as a light for my Aquarium and it worked way better than I could have ever expected. my plants grew really well and I could even setup a sunrise and sunset with various different color configurations throughout the day. But... The app is a tremendous pile of unresponsive, unintuitive garbage. It's very slow to apply changes so any time you try to adjust the colors expect to make an event out of it and grab yourself some snacks. They have 2 versions of the same app on the Android store. Both versions are terrible for different reasons. The older version is more straightforward for setting up light automation but lacks some features/modes, while the newest version adds more features/modes but it is incredibly frustrating to navigate through. Both versions are equally slow and changes to the lightbulb setting often fail to take effect, requiring you to reset the lightbulb, sign out and sign back in, remake lighting groups, toggle Bluetooth on/off, etc. It's frustrating because the only thing holding back this great lightbulb is the god awful app. If you are a glutton for punishment this is the product for you. You've been warned.

This item was an impulse buy. Very expensive and not particularly easy to setup or modify once it is set up. But I still like it and when you get it working it’s a lot of fun.

Great bulbs folks does what it need to do and has some pretty cool setting butttttt it's not very well know I guess or the Bluetooth only way is stopping it from being more control by 3rd party because pretty much other brand are more app compatible and it's pretty hard to find ilumi on anything! The app is self is good but I might move another way maybe a wifi and Bluetooth gateways still a great bulb that does the job

I've been looking for a bulb that would let me set it to any of the colors that the bulb could produce. The others I have considered cycle randomly, but only allow the user to set one of a handful of colors. The app from Ilumi has a good range of presets for standard light and is easy to set to pretty much any color.

Pros: No hub. Colorful, better than Gen 2 HUE. Cons: Not so bright. In a room with bulb above your head if it's laying down and pointed in any direction one side of the room will shadow without two bulbs. If you have some disposable income and want to give smart lighting a try this is probably the best place to start. I ended up returning mine. It's probably best to wait until these bulbs cost like $9 each.

For $50 I would rather have spent the extra money and gotten the Phillips hue kit. But these are ok. Just not as fancy.

Although (sometimes) my wife is annoyed by it, most of our home is "smart". I really wanted to try out some smart bulbs throughout the house. Not knowing how I'd like them, I didn't want to invest a ton in the Philips Hue line. This bulb is great and does everything I need it to! The only drawback is the app to control the bulb is not great. Still would recommend though!

Bought this for my son and he loves it. The light lights up the whole room with the color of your choice.
