Will Not Connect to App

Reading reviews many have success and many do not. Unfortunately, I'm part of the do not. If it does not work as advertised how can it be recommended?

Works perfectly for the one bulb in the house I don't change colors of, its set as a night light for the weekends. The app is a horrible fail, rarely works in my exp, luckily I don't realy need it.
