Unbroken resonants with the Inspirational story of Louis Zamperini. The enduring capabilities of our POW's, as well as their ability to forgive in this dramatic process is extremely important. This portrayal is beautifully rendered, although heartbreaking at times. A must see.

Actually watched this movie on HBO prior to purchasing, originally it did not seem appealing to me, but after watching I had to have it. Great movie which shows the "American Soldier" resolve and will power. The fact this is a true story, makes this movie a must have, great American Hero!.

I saw a story on TV about the main character and all the trials and tribulations he had to go through. I had to see this film after I saw that. It was a pretty good movie, I felt like they focused a little too much on the time he was captured. They could have spent a little more time telling about his life after he got home or about his Olympic journey. But overall, it was pretty good.

A very well crafted tale based on a true story! Jack O'Connell does a great job acting. The bonus material featuring the real Louis Zamperini was interesting and inspiring. My only criticism of the film was make-up...something which should almost always go unnoticed. After spending weeks on a raft floating in the Pacific, Jack O'Connell actually sports a perfectly manicured goatee!!!

Movie was great but not like the book. I was looking forward to the part after he returned home to see his struggles and final finding our Lord Christ Jesus who saved him from terrible emotions. Our Lord Jesus Christ is always with us and waiting patiently for us to return to his kingdom. Amen

We wanted to see the movie when it was in theatres but were unable to do so. This seemed the next best way to do so! We anticipate enjoying it though we know the ending will not be totally a happy one. It is probably best for older children (adolescents and teenagers) and definitely adults.

I enjoyed this movie because it was so inspirational. It's all about refusing to surrender to things beyond one's control after being beaten down (literally!) time and again. I think this is great stuff and has a great message for us. Good quality video and audio as a bonus.

I love that Best Buy offers this movie at an affordable price, the local book store had it for much more, I get to accumulate points and charge it. Excellent movie and it's a true story too. This movie it will truly stimulate your faith too. This is a must have for the family.

I watched this movie twice since I got it is truly a must see movie. Angelina Jolie really made this movie so real that my dad could not watch it because of the memories it brought back with his father in WWII in Japan.

This movie tells a great true story on how you can accomplish anything in life that you want to accomplish, if you have the will power and persistence to get it done. Would highly recommend this movie as a motivational story about the human spirit to thrive against all odds!

Any one of the individual perils that this man faced in his lifetime would be more than enough to take for most of us, but this man faced plane crashes, being adrift at sea, being a P.O.W., etc., etc. and never let any of them break his spirit or his faith in God. Highly recommended!

Had this movie bought for my 80th birthday. And as I was a child of the second war era movies like this excited me especially as the story is a true one . Very well written and portraying actors did a magnificent job with scenes of the brutality of the Japanese toward their prisoners.

A very eventful movie. It's amazing what one can do to overcome adversity and challenges in ones life to achieve goals and dreams. Its sad that Hollywood wouldn't touch this one and that it was an actor that had the gumption to make it, and make it in another country to boot.

This is a true story of a guy that got in the Olympics to run track. He was rescuing soldiers because their plain went down but their old plain was in bad shape so they also landed in the ocean. They got captured and released after punishment.

This is the true story of an American soldier who was captured during WWII. He was targeted by the the commander of the prison camp because he had been a champion runner in the Olympics. His amazing endurance during continuous torture is truly unbelievable!

What a great story. I'm not much of a film critic, if I like it I do, if not then I have nothing to say at all. I really enjoyed this movie and the story. The factual tidbits at the end were even better. If you enjoy history and enjoy a real Hero then this is a must see.

For Angelina Jolie's directing debut she has done an incredible job. The plot flows seamlessly and the casting of the movie top to bottom was great. The way they were able to depict what these POWs had to go through tastefully done without skimping too much on the grimy details.

Other then a shot to the head, it seems like the power of a person's will can overcome anything. Inspiring in a dark way. The darkness comes from what people are capable of doing to other people. The inspiration comes from withstanding all the worst in others.

HE ENDURED BEING LOST AT SEA FOR MANY MONTHS AND SURVIVED HIS ORDEAL. HE LANDED UP IN A JAPANESE PRISONER OF WAR CAMP WITH A VINDICTIVE CAPTOR WHOSE OUT TO GET HIM. HE SHOWS WHAT FORTITUDE HE HAS BY NEVER BREAKING DOWN. HE SHOWED WHAT TRUE HEROES ARE ALL ABOUT.

Although the movie takes place during WW2 its more about the story of the protagonist who just happens to be there and I think that is one of its greatest strengths. The acting and writing are all great.
