As I said before, I am from the old school generation of hip-hop.(Spoonie G,Boogie Down Productions,Kurtis Blow,Funky-4 Plus 1,Run-Dmc,Ultramagnatic,Grandmaster&The Furious 5,GrandPuba,Slick Rick,Utfo,Afrika Bambata,LLCoolJ,Dr.Jeck&Mr.Hyde,EricB&Rakim,MC Lyte,Salt&Peppa,Public Enemy,Tribe Called Quest.... etc...... I can go on&on.) Common has become a true Hip-hop icon. He ranks with the best of them. I am more into words that help U get through the struggle.Words that help U 2stay strong. a lot of artist do not have that. Common always did. This CD is a change from his previous,but it can still put U where u need 2 BN hip-hop. A good buy 4 the true hip-hoppers,not rappers!!! Peace N Love Always....... Roody-roo.

Common is in my opinion a true hip-hop artist and isn't afraid to take chances musically. The Electric Circus album got dissed by hip-hoppers and critics but it was an album that got other artists in hip-hop open on trying something different. His concepts and lyrics continue to amaze and this album is put together well. He continues throughout all these years to bring something fresh and unique, thats what makes him consistent. Good album, go get it!!

This album has some songs on it which are so good, you are confused why. Then, you read the production notes and see who the executive producer is and you are then not surprised any further. Allowing a really talented executive producer to produce many of the songs on the album is a no-brainer. No one should be surprised at all of Common's success, he's a lyrical as well as a business genius. If you don't own this album, you're not a true hip-hop fan.

Honestly this album might grow on me, but at first listen I find "Finding Forever" way better in my honest opinion. The three songs I named above are my favorites..oops I almost forgot about "Universal Mind Control". Common like Kanye give's us a different side of them. While I can appreciate artist trying new things I just was really feeling this album as much as his previous one. Overall I would give this album a 7 out of 10.

It's a different take but its real good. Production values great and the lyrics are good it's Common!

Common is very artistic with his type of flow but this album was a little weak. Honestly he sounds so much better with Kanye on the boards. Thats not to say that this album doesn't have some highlights. Overall though its not his greatest album.

To the true HipHop heads its an instant banger... Another job well done... You can play this from start to finish...
